You will love our modern, recently remodeled beach house. We are less than 2 blocks - about 600 feet and only a 3 minute walk - to the beach and Pacific Ocean, and a very short walk to the Pier, Downtown HB and Pacific City. Our home has 3 bedrooms plus a large loft, which have a total of 10 real beds (1 king, 1 queen, 4 full and 4 twin), and there is an additional pull-out twin bed in the family room. There are 3 bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, washer and dryer, and a built-in gas barbeque on the private back patio. The front patio is perfect for morning coffee and people-watching, and there is a large rooftop deck for stargazing. We have bikes for your downtown transportation, and surfboards and body boards for your entertainment. We provide beach towels, beach chairs, sand umbrellas, Igloo coolers, sand toys and a beach wagon to tote it all to the beach. This house has everything you will need for a relaxing Surf City vacation.
We like to get to know our guests prior to booking to assure the property is a good fit for them. Please provide a description of your group, including the reason for your visit to Huntington Beach. Double front doors lead to a large entry. To the left of the entry and one step down is the spacious living room, which has a wall of glass with double sliding doors to access the front patio. The front patio is elevated from the street, and is surrounded by a low sitting wall. The patio has two chairs with ottomans and two chaise lounges.
The living room is furnished with a sofa, two armchairs and an ottoman, and it has a gas fireplace with a flat screen TV above. There is a DVD player in this room, and some family-friendly DVDs. The entry and living room have hardwood floors.
The kitchen is to the right of the entry. It has newer stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, a travertine tile floor and granite counters. The refrigerator/freezer includes an ice-maker. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, silverware, blender, crock pot, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker and basic pantry items (coffee, flour, sugar, spices, etc.). There is a laundry room off the kitchen, and laundry detergent is provided.
Between the kitchen and dining area is a breakfast bar with three tall bar stools. The dining area has a table which seats 6, and a flat screen TV. There is a second dining table in the entry, with 7 chairs.
There is a 3/4 bath on the first floor off the dining area, with a travertine tiled shower.
Between the house and garage is a private courtyard, which has an outdoor kitchen with a built-in gas BBQ. There is an in-ground spa but, due to noise concerns, we have disabled the jets/spa heater and guests may not use the spa. Please note -- the spa is not covered and could pose a hazard for young children.
The two car garage is off the back of the courtyard. There are at least five (usually more) adult/26" wheel beach cruiser bicycles, a teen/24" wheel and child/20" wheel beach cruiser bikes for our smaller guests, bike helmets in assorted sizes, four surfboards (two 8' and two 6'), and at least four body/boogie boards. There are six life-vests (adult medium and large), six low sand chairs and three taller camp chairs, two umbrellas, a cooler, lots of beach/sand toys and a beach wagon to use for the short walk to the sand. In addition to the one or two cars (depending on size) that can be parked in the garage, an additional car can be parked in the rear alley parallel to the garage door, and there is street parking on a first come basis.
At the front of the house on the second floor is a big, bright family room with a vaulted ceiling and ceiling fan, three large windows, and a wall of glass with double sliding doors leading to a step out balcony with a view of the ocean. The family room has a large sectional sofa and a double width easy chair that pulls out to a twin size bed. A double width ottoman and two smaller ottomans are also provided. The family room has a gas fireplace with a high-definition flat screen TV above. There is a bookcase filled with board games, puzzles, playing cards and books.
Next is a bunkroom which has an 11 foot high ceiling, double stacked windows and a ceiling fan. The bunkroom has four built-in sleeping compartments, each with a full size plush mattress, an electrical outlet to charge your devices, and an individually controlled light with a dimmer switch. The upper compartments are accessed by built in staircases. There is no closet in this room, but there are four huge drawers under the lower compartments for your use.
Off the hall after the bunkroom is a bathroom with two glass top vanities, and with a pocket door to separate the toilet and shower area. The large walk-in shower has glass tile and a built-in bench.
On the other side of the bathroom is the second bedroom, with a queen size bed. This room has a large window providing lots of light and a ceiling fan. There is a triple door closet, and there are two folding luggage racks in the closet.
Continuing down the hall, there is a closet on the right, with single and double hanging rods and two additional folding luggage racks.
A glass door on the left side of the hallway leads to the outside staircase going up to the private rooftop deck. The rooftop deck has a sectional sofa with a lounge, and two chaise lounges.
Double doors at the end of the hallway lead to the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a flat screen TV and a vaulted ceiling. The master bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub, separate shower and double vanities.
There is a staircase in the master bedroom leading up to a large, light filled loft with an unobstructed ocean view. The loft has three twin beds, plus a roll-out trundle providing a fourth twin bed. In addition to two large windows, the loft has sliding doors accessing a small balcony. Above the loft, there is a two-head rotating ceiling fan (added in late 2018) to circulate the air in both the loft and the master bedroom.
The house has air conditioning. There is a central A/C system that cools the first floor and the front portion of the second floor. Additionally, in late 2018, we added a ductless A/C system in the master bedroom which cools the master bedroom and loft. Yes, you do sometimes need A/C in HB!
There is a small, neighborhood grocery/deli/liquor store only one block away that makes wonderful sandwiches, and many restaurants within a few blocks. Two large grocery stores, Albertsons and Ralphs, and many more restaurants and stores, are less than a 5 minute drive away (Jans Health Bar and Sango Sushi are two of our favorites for take-out).
It is a short twelve block (less than one mile) walk to Huntington Beach Pier and Main Street, with all its amazing shops, restaurants and entertainment -- close enough for very easy access but not so close as to be bothered by the crowds, noise and traffic congestion. The new Pacific City center, with its unique shops and restaurants, is only two blocks further.
Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and Knotts Surf City are about a 40 minute drive. It is about a 60 minute drive (depending on traffic) to Universal Studios, Hollywood, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills or downtown Los Angeles and LA Live. It is about 90 minutes to Sea World/San Diego, and about 15 minutes to South Coast Plaza & Fashion Island.

Wi-Fi and cable TV provided. Also provided are linens, beach towels, toiletries, folding luggage racks, hairdryers, bikes, body/boogie boards, surf boards, life vests, beach chairs, sand umbrellas, Igloo coolers and a beach wagon.
All the beds have newer, good quality mattresses, with the king, queen and full beds having pillow-top/euro-top mattresses. All the linens are high-thread count, and the towels are thick and fluffy.
No smoking and no pets.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST ...
Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is suitable for families and responsible adults looking for a peaceful environment for vacation. We generally will not rent to groups of more than 10 people, but will consider renting to slightly larger family groups that include young children.
Our home is not for guests looking for late night parties, and we do not rent for bachelor/bachelorette parties, spring break parties or graduation parties. Music may not be played on the roof deck, back courtyard or front patio after 8 pm. No people other than the guests specified at the time of the reservation may be on or at the property. We respect our neighbors and rent accordingly.
