Wonderful lodgings in walking distance to downtown Austin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this townhome. The host, Peter, is a great guy. The place was immaculately clean and, because Peter is an architect, the design is great. I had read other reviews that complained about traffic noise and trains passing. Although there is some truth to this, Peter is insulated the place so well that the traffic noise is more like white noise. Plus, anybody that thinks that they are going to stay in a place within walking distance of downtown Austin and not have traffic noise is delusional. This is a wonderful place to stay. Read more

Spacious updated townhome, centrally located
This beautiful, updated home was perfect for hosting our family gathering, including my daughter and son-in-law and his parents. Tucked into a quiet, wooded hillside neighborhood, the friendly neighbors and quaint but hip residential atmosphere made us feel safe. We had covered off-street parking for two cars, parked end to end. Centrally located, it was a welcome retreat from the Texas heat and activities on campus, at the capitol and downtown. The rooms are each very spacious and tastefully appointed but very livable. We particularly enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen. The dining and living areas, including a screened porch, are conducive to groups including families and couples. I have stayed in other Turnkey units in Austin and VRBO's elsewhere and this is by far, my favorite. I highly recommend this property and hope to return. Read more

Comfortable, new, and convenient!
This three bedroom, 2 bath condo was very clean and comfortable, and worked well for our group of seven ladies. It was newly remodeled and decorated, which was wonderful. The location was convenient and close to many amenities and was not a far drive to downtown Austin, Rainey Street, and the South Congress area. Plenty of silverware, plates, and glasses were available in the condo; however, the addition of steak knives would be appreciated since we used the charcoal grill the first night to make steaks for dinner. A larger trashcan in the kitchen would have been nice as well as coffee filters for the coffee maker, but it was wonderful that coffee, creamer, and sugar was already in the condo for us to use. Although we booked our stay through VRBO, the owner stopped by three times to check in on us, unexpectedly. We would have enjoyed access to music inside the condo instead of playing music through our phones, but that is a minor suggestion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo and we would book it again if we ever vacation again in Austin. Read more

Lovely but Loud
The proximity to downtown was really nice. The house was darling and renovated beautifully. But, and this is a big one - it was simply too loud. The trains were unbearable, serious prolonged screeching of iron on iron with the freight trains and there were passenger trains too. The upstairs neighbors had dogs that barked, not the end of the world though, I like dogs. And when we got back from the Austin Eats tour (totally recommend) and wanted to nap before heading off to the wedding there was a rock band having a practice session. No lie! At that point it was almost comical. Also, I think the owner should call before coming over because he came to bring one towel, it made my daughter a little nervous because I wasn't there. Were we being checked up on? One towel? The carport was nice parking and long enough to park two cars tandem, that worked well for us. Such a darling place, just couldn't get any sleep there. : ( Read more
