We are a family with 3 kids, 7,10,12. We come to LG every year, first time renting a house due to covid. We will never be able to go back to a hotel sharing a piece of the lake. This spot is amazing. Small beach entry, kayaks, canoe, dock, floats, games, firepit, wood, lawn chairs, picnic table, hammock, you just can not ask for more. Sun all afternoon till sundown! The lake was so warm in late august that we never wanted to get out. The adirondack chairs have really old torn cushions, but thats the only negative outside.
The kitchen and bathrooms in main house are new and great, had everything you need and some extras. There is plenty of chairs at dining table on screened in porch to eat dinner. The rest of the house if right out of the 60s maybe, even windows are so old they dont close properly. Dark and old but we brought are own sheets and embraced the charm. The a/c units in each room worked great. If you are spending time inside during the summer you are doing it wrong anyway. This is obviously someones own family home and feels loved. There was no more dish soap or toilet paper but there are many things left by owners or other guests that we forgot to bring and easily found available, water shoes, raincoat, paper plates, Even booze. We added to the pantry as well and felt good doing so. We cant wait to come back next year. If they upgrade the rest of the house it wont be in our price range so we like it as is. My kids want me to add “beware of the creepy doll” there is lots of old toys for kids but the the doll in a chest in a back room scared them, it all adds to our family's memories! Thank you hosts!
