Loved our stay with son and 18 year old grand daughters. Perfect place to unwind after a day of shopping and touring. View from deck is perfect. Saw beavers, deer, and many fire flies. Hope to return some day!

Our family enjoyed our stay very much. Owners were responsive and friendly. It was so relaxing and had everything we needed. The only thing we wished for was a gas grill but still enjoyed the charcoal. We would definitely like to visit again.

We came to Tennessee to visit our son and daughter in law for just a few days. The cottage does need a few updates. But it was clean and comfortable. We wanted to have a family cook out but the picnic table was a bit worn and the deck had no table and the grill was charcoal. The boat dock was next door and seemed like it needed a little TLC too. But the beds were comfortable, the cottage was clean, we got to have our dogs and the owners were very nice. And the air conditioning worked great! ( it was really humid and hot when we stayed). All in all we enjoyed our stay. Just a little disappointed in the outside things.

PROS: As other reviews stated super nice owners and responsive. Location is out of the way but close enough to the stores. My hubby enjoyed fishing and no charge for pets which helped in our selection. I am huge on reading reviews and the description of the cottage and of the other reviewers is a bit misleading. I am one for transparency so would like to share my experience. CONS: We unfortunately were met with unwanted guest. I'm not sure how long it had been since the last guest stayed but knocked down 3 spiderwebs and killed a quarter size spider and wasp. Our 12 & 15 year old described the cottage as creepy. Had we not had our dogs traveling we would have taken a loss and just booked a hotel but had to make the best of it. Not sure when the fridge was last cleaned. It had a dead fly, old ice cream sandwiches in freezer and some sticky gunk on shelf. On vacation we like to sleep in and unfortunately with no curtains you wake up at sunrise. If you rent to pet owners I highly suggest no carpet. The carpet was disgusting, I had my son toss his socks the next morning. I washed the extra blankets and we slept on top of bedding using them. We arrived late around 0930. If doing laundry definitely run it while away. Its definitely time for new washcloths, bedding and throw pillows that have obviously been here for years. Many photos & description appear to be from 2011 when they started renting (refurbished counters, fireplace, tvs) and could use updating. Its the simple details I couldn't overlook and just could not make me return. My husband could overlook and would return just to fish and for the location.
