Sasamat is ready for your next adventure! Best suited to couples looking for a getaway, Sasamat is a STANDARD (manual) transmission 1987 Westfalia. This means you need to be able to drive a stick shift and handle those hill starts! During pick up we will check your ability to drive a manual vehicle! She comes equipped with a comfy new memory foam mattress for the bottom bed and a roomy upper bunk in the pop top, which can double as a storage space when you've parked for the night. Sasamat has a propane stove and sink with running water. Her fridge, like most Westys, is unreliable but we can provide a couple of coolers instead. In the drawers and cupboards are all the kitchen gear you need: pots and pans, plates and cutlery. Up front, a Sony stereo with radio, CD player and an auxiliary input can lay down your favourite tunes through freshly wired front and rear speakers. At more than 30 years old, Sasamat may not be the smoothest or quietest ride, but she makes up for that in personality and is fun to drive. Sure, there are some odd clicks and rattles, but whose bones aren't getting a bit creaky? The name "Sasamat" is derived from the Salishan word Tsaa-tsmat, meaning "cool place," and is believed to be the Indigenous name for the Burrard Inlet. We're sure you'll find Sasamat a cool place in which to spend your next adventure! Read more
