Casa das Palmeiras Charming House - Azores 1901

Great location close to some good restaurants; we had a parking spot on the property for 5€/day

The property is beautiful but the sound isolation is poor, as we had the first room on the first floor we heard everyone on steps or on the hallaway. I think the bed should be replaced, as it was very old and squeaked loudly whenever you moved during the night, often waking you up.

Great location! Beautiful building, inside courtyard parking with remote, helpful staff, comfy room with view, nice breakfast, great cafe in same building.

Can’t think of anything…maybe that the 3rd floor rooms have some headroom issue due to roof architecture where my kids stayed, but 2nd floor has tons of room/high ceilings.

Breakfast was nice but it would be better if the hot portions like the eggs and bacon were kept more warm. Ours were cold by the time we came for breakfast by 8:20am. The room needs some thorough cleaning...the curtains are very dirty and could easily be cleaned in a washing machine. The room light which is a feather light is quite dusty and dirty....a bit more attention to these areas would be a noticeable improvement. I appreciated the gesture of making us a packed breakfast for our last morning when we had to leave very early.

The walls are thin...we had a terrible last night when the new occupants next door decided to come back to their room at 1:00am and were very loud and clearly drunk...it was unfortunate. They woke us up and carried on for several hours until someone knocked on their door and told them to keep it down. We needed to get up early to catch a flight at 6:00am but spent most of the night awake listening to very loud neighbors. We were not able to have parking the first night even though I had requested on my booking 9 months out that we needed parking and it said by reservation only, this was a nuisance as we spent about an hour driving around looking for a parking spot...they only have 5 spots. We were able to get the remaining 3 nights when another guest left.

Location

Lack of parking (despite there being a huge car park). Tiny shower room and restricted head height in bedroom
