Baxter Park Inn

Great location near Baxter State Park, where we had great hiking and saw moose! This is one of the nicest "mom and pop" type of hotel at which we've ever stayed. The rooms were clean and well maintained, with nice bathroom fixtures and fresh paint. The breakfast was a bit bare bones, with no hot food, but that is not our main concern when looking for a place to stay. There was a grocery store right down the street where we bought food and fixed it in the microwave in our room. The owners apparently live right above the hotel and were very friendly and accessible. We also loved the five resident rescue cats!

Adequate continental breakfast with excellent coffee and high quality food offerings. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable.

Having to plug in the fridge then waiting for it to cool down before use. Also the air conditioner control buttons didn't work in one of the rooms. The staff said I should find a remote in a drawer for the AC.

Friendly employees.

No vents in the bathrooms. Our bathroom was designed like an add-on box. We had to open a hallway door to vent it out after each use. Old bad ordor inside (probably mold inside the foam ceiling) that gets worse when hot steam from shower fills the "box." Bathrooms need vents.
