Located near the coast, Mendocino has plenty to offer visitors who prefer being outdoors.
- Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens: There are 47 acres of land that have been dedicated to conserving plants and the natural environment at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Enjoy the fragrance of rhododendrons or the riotous colors of the garden's many other species.
- Mendocino Headlands State Park: Gentle trails combine with the rugged coastline for breathtaking views. Walk along the cliffs, or visit the historic Ford House Visitor Center & Museum.
- Little River Blowhole Trail: A short walk leads to a large "punchbowl," beyond which lies the bluff edge and a beautiful ocean view.
