Resting peacefully within Peace River Country and surrounded by the eponymous County of Grande Prairie No. 1, Grande Prairie is known for being one of Canada’s rapidly growing cities and Alberta’s seventh largest municipality. With a population of over 63,000 and rising, Grande Prairie attracts thousands of Canadians and international tourists to see the city in all its grand glory. With plenty of activities like listening to live music from local artists, to browsing many of the city’s cultural treasures, there is something for every arts and culture enthusiast. The city also has much to offer for any paleontology buffs out there. Due to significant numerous paleontology discoveries within the area, the city has adopted the dinosaur as its unofficial symbol, in addition to opening the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum. Just be careful not to step on any undiscovered pterodactyl skulls whilst you’re there!
