I can never say enough about the home. Wakeup to sun just breaking the trees, geese, birds and wild life. Chipmunks running around gathering for the day and a beautiful porch to take it all in. The homes afar dancing on mirror of the lake as you sit with coffee or tea to start your day. As the day continues the water calls to you to cool your feet or take a dip. Night fall brings out the night life as the frogs sing to the moon. The lights of the homes around and far dance in the moon light of the lake as your mind wonders. You start a fire in the fire circle and chat as the dark closes in. Bring a fan, open the windows as the cool air kisses you cheeks and the frogs sing you to sleep. The next morning brings it all back! What more could you ask for as the smell of bacon and fresh coffee kisses the air. You have fallen in love with the simple life.

Wonderfully located house on Oxoboxo Lake . Close to casinos , restaurants , and Connecticut shoreline . Everything you need for a peaceful getaway !

Wonderful getaway! Close to Mohegan Sun in Mystic Seaport, among many other locations. And right on the water! Fish right off the dark, and they were biting! 👍😎☺️

Overall I enjoyed this property very much. The home is small, but it has a number of updates and is clean, comfortable and quiet. Given the space it wouldn't be ideal for two adult couples; but for a couple with one or two small children, or a small group of friends (3 max) this is a great property. The views from the back patio and screen room are excellent and you're right on the water. The home has kayaks you can use (we did), and they're honestly pretty comfortable! We enjoyed meandering around the lake. There's also a fire pit (which we also used!) and given the dark skies in the area star watching is a must. I also found the house to be very quiet. Kitchen wise, it has what you need. We definitely weren't lacking. And finally, the owner (Victoria) did greet me when I checked in and was very friendly to deal with. As far as ways to improve, my only real auggestion pertains to the water which is from a well. That's not per se bad but the smell - especially using hot water - was a bit strong in the sink and shower. It's perfectly clean though and fine to drink (the house has a water purifier in the frig). Water aside, I definitely recommend this property and would rent it again.

We had such a good time last year, we decided to come back. Such a quiet, peaceful area, and the lake and the house itself are beautiful.

This was a perfect lakefront rental property with a private beach and dock! The property is very clean and just as listed. The lake and surrounding properties are quiet and relaxing. The owner met us at the house to personally hand us the keys and show us the home. She was very helpful at providing dining recommendations and anything else we would need and was always just a text or phone call away! It was easy to get anywhere we wanted to get to from the home and we did a lot of sightseeing but also enjoyed hanging around the lake at the house. We enjoyed being visited by the local wildlife including a momma goose and her goslings, a friendly snake, and an entertaining cormorant! I could go on and on but in summary this was the perfect vacation home and will be our first choice if we are ever vacationing in the area again!

Wife and I took a kid free trip for first time!! That itself was amazing but the cabin was great, we could have just sat on porch all day and night and watched the lake. We kayaked all over, even caught some fish from the yak! Fire pit was great, they had bundles of wood right there for purchase. Grabbed awesome dinner from Bozrah pizza, ran back to house and just chilled on the porch. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Victoria!

The house was clean and homey. The house was perfect for visiting our son stationed at the Groton Naval Base. We were able to make home cooked meals and laundry. But also close enough to do some outings. Everything was needed was there.

The perfect Spring Break Staycation! Comfortable accommodations, wonderful views and local activities for the kids!

I spent a month waking up to amazing views of Oxoboxo Lake each and every day. I was working remotely and could not have been happier to be in such a serene setting. The home had everything I needed to cook, the Wi-Fi was fast and dependable, and Victoria was very helpful through it all!

We had a great time here! The cottage itself was very comfortable and clean, and we had lots of fun swimming, playing and relaxing in the yard and on our “private beach,” and using the provided kayaks. There were a lot of little “nice touches” throughout that really just made our trip that much better, like the outdoor kitchen area with sink (very convenient for washing off my kids’ popsicles when they fell in the dirt for the 37th time), beautiful fire pit area that even had a stash of marshmallow sticks at the table, a bin of sand toys on the beach, and everything we needed inside to make our stay comfortable. The lake area itself was very quiet and peaceful the majority of the time we were there (mid-August), especially during the week.

What a wonderful peaceful setting, as the lake mirrors the shoreline from a far with trees and homes. The views in the morning are priceless with the ducks and geese coming with their young, the Cranes fish their way down the shoreline as the sun peeks over the horizon. The coffee pot chugs away providing the smell of fresh brew and the tea pot soon screams breaking the silence of the morning. The days are filled with sun and fun, while the swimming dock provides a secluded place to sun and talk as you pass the day away. As the day progresses the barbecue provides the ability to make quick lunches with hotdogs and other delights. The sandy beach also a great place to sun and wine in the beach chairs. July can bring the 90s, but the water in the 70s provides a cool way to escape the heat. A quick thunderstorm can show itself cooling the air, as the rain dancing on the roof gives you time to reflect. However, the TV provides soothing music in the background as you listen to the pitter patter of the rain and watch the lighting bolts touch the ground. The nights are beautiful, with the singing and screech of the frogs and the mirroring of the lights of homes dance on the lake as night takes over. As the night cools, the firepit provides a way to warm your soul and take on conversations of the day and plans for the next. Bring a fan for the window, to blow the cool air through the bed room. The only down side... Whether it be a week or a month, is the day you close and lock the door, wondering back to 395 to head home and shed a tear as you look back in the rearview mirror.

Spent wonderful weekend with my girls. Located right on the tranquil lake. We rented paddle boards and used kayaks provided by the house. Vegged out on the porch over looking the water. Firepit at night. Cozy little cottage. 10 minute Uber ride to casino. Owners were very kind and accommodating in everyway. They gave us a quick boat ride around the lake. Amazing place. We did not want to leave. WE WILL BE BACK!

We had a GREAT weekend at the cottage. The scenery was beautiful and the hosts John and Victoria were so great. They took us for a boat ride around the lake which was a great time ! The house is perfect if you're seeing a show at Mohegan and don't want to stay at Mohegan, we will be back soon!

We had a wonderful week away at your beautiful lake home. We spent the week together as a family, swimming, kyacking, playing games, grilling, making snores over the fire pit and so on. Your home was extremely clean, well stocked and the linenes and washer/dryer was so nice. We will be back again. Thank you!
