The Hugo - Hotel Concept Canterbury

Lots of space. Very comfortable with modern design. Good facilities. Excellent location. 10 electrical sockets in the room!

As in so many hotels these days, the lighting was peculiar. There were switches that didn’t seem to do anything, lights in strange places e.g under beams and near the floor, but nothing overhead in the ceiling to illuminate the room clearly!

It was very well decorated. Very stylish and comfortable. Perfect for a one night stay.

It has very thin walls. Although during the night it was quiet, I could hear a person next door having a work conversation and I could hear everything that was said by both parties.

The place will almost certainly exceed your expectations - it is absolutely lovely. Central location (extremely central) yet no noise issues due to the layout of the property (most rooms face to the rear). Air conditioning in our room (3) a TV, a beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. Super comfy mattress and a great night's sleep. It's absolutely fantastic and superb value for money. No key to lose as it's a personal PIN for the front door (right on the main street) and the same PIN for your room. I would recommend this place over any chain hotel in or near the city - can't be faulted.

Literally nothing. It's superb.

This was a pleasant room for several nights. But has some short coming not mentioned in the online information but a good location.

Firstly this room has a treacherous staircase that you need to lug your bags up. Part of it without a hand rail. There are four rooms located above a noisy bar. It is managed remotely by the owner. This itself led to problems. Such as our rooms not being serviced. On Friday and Saturday nights the bar plays thumping music until 12.30am. It's very noisy and you can't sleep. Some of the rooms are very very small. Finally the shower in our room was extremely slippery when wet. It really needed some sort of antislip protection. It was very dangerous.
