Bills house is charming, clean and very well appointed. We were walking distance to IGA, all the town's conveniences and Summerkeys activities.Lubec is relaxing and Bill's house made the visit carefree. We hope to return next year.

The house is old, but in excellent shape and very roomy but cozy. Everything worked and the kitchen was well equipped. The living room and bedrooms all had large TVs and comfortable beds or furniture. The back yard was small, but pleasant with a picnic table, grill and shade trees. I really felt comfortable in the house. It worked well sharing the house with friends.
The location is excellent. It is a short walk to the IGA for groceries or down the hill to the waterfront parks, brewery, and restaurants. I enjoyed just walking around Lubec, looking at the old houses and gardens and water front. It is also a short walk to the trail to Mowbray Beach.

We loved our week's stay at this house. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked--plenty of utensils, pots, and skillets for cooking. The house was immaculate when we walked in--you can tell the house is cared for. There's plenty of living space and privacy too. The beds were very comfortable, with plenty of blankets for cool nights--and we appreciated the fans available for the few warm nights. Off-street parking was wonderful to have. We could walk anywhere in town within 10 minutes. This is a great place to stay if you're going to SummerKeys. Big thumbs up!

My two adult children, my dog, and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bill's beautiful home! Everything was perfect. The house was lovely. It was well stocked with everything needed to make cooking enjoyable. Having towels and linens included made packing so much easier. We also were delighted to have use of a washer and dryer.
There was a view of the water from the front steps of the house. Lubec is a peaceful, beautiful place. We enjoyed exploring the many local parks, and we had some nice adventures in Canada.
Bill is a fantastic host. We found that we would arrive before the designated check-in time. Bill responded to my phone message and graciously OK'd an early check in. He then called the next day to make sure that everything was going well and to let us know to not hesitate to be in touch if we needed anything.
I highly recommend Bill and his beautiful house. I hope to return there in the future!

A friend and I stayed here in June for 12 days while attending Summer Keys. Bill was very helpful and responsive when we needed anything and even checked in with us to ask if we needed anything. The house was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. For someone who likes to cook that was a plus. I would highly recommend Bill’s place.

Great location and could walk to waterfront shops and restaurants. Short drive to lighthouse and all trails. Communication to and from owner great. The house was spacious with unique decor, and very homey. Pictures on VRBO are a bit deceiving...bedrooms shown on website had much nicer bed linens, rather than old bedspreads that were actually there. Cookware, glasses and coffeepot had to be washed before using. Wonderful five days in Lubec, and besides the couple minor things, would definitely stay again.

Great time in Lubec!
We stayed here with 4 adults, a three year old, and two dogs and had the best time! The house had everything we needed, more than enough space, and everything was clean and comfortable. It was very easy to find on a main street just before the bridge to Campobello Island. An easy walk to Mowry Beach and all the restaurants and shops in "downtown" Lubec. Such a peaceful place, we often had entire beaches to ourselves. We crossed to Campobello Island NB several times and also took some day trips to St. Andrews NB and Jonesport, ME. West Quoddy Lighthouse and Cobscook Bay State Park were also very close by and the scenery everywhere was just beautiful. A whale watch out of Lubec at the end of the trip was so much fun. Such a great trip especially with dogs and a toddler. We can't wait to go back!

The owner made it easy - everything was ready when we got there, and the house is spacious and comfortable without being pretentious. It is in a quiet area in a quiet town after the height of the vacation season. And our two dogs loved it, too.

Great property, great owner, close (walking distance) to grocery store, bank downtown. Farmer's Market wonderful as usual, got to Campobello several times but a hassle. Hoping next year to stay on the island. Get your vaccinations now.
Would recommend but the street traffic is noisy.

Great house, wish the locals didn't use Washington St. as a raceway, all hours of day & night

60th birthday trip to Lubec
Wonderful experience going to visit Lubec, Maine and Bill’s house felt just like home! The house was so reminiscent of the home I grew up in with the beautiful old woodwork on the front staircase and the built in bookcases. It had everything we could have needed for a long comfortable stay and we wished we could have made our visit longer. This was a meaningful trip to see the West Quoddy Lighthouse where my husband’s great grandfather was a lighthouse keeper! We were also able to find his headstone in the Lubec cemetery and get a review of the history of the area from the docents at the Lubec Historical Museum.
Bills house was the perfect place to come home to when the sun went down and it got chilly out, he had cozy blankets in the living room ready for an evening at home.
Next time we’ll bring more people to fill all the four bedrooms and take advantage of all the spaces the home had to offer.
My favorite thing to do was have a cup of tea out in the yellow chair in the front yard each morning and say hello to passers by.

A good time in spite of COVID
The house was as described, w/ PLENTY of room for our party of four. If one has trouble finding the place coming into town, one should have their eyes checked - VERY easy to find.
Only had two contacts with the owner - one text and one by phone - very friendly and efficient.
Nearly everything in Lubec is walkable, and having the IGA within about 150 yards, made snacks and meal prep easy.
The town would be great for those seeking a laid back environment. Businesses catering those seeking such an environment were admittedly challenged this year, but that is, I hope, to be expected currently, and many were creative in making it work anyway.
Not to sound like Arnold, but 'I'll be back.'

Great old house with lots of character. Super clean. LOTS of space to live into, and very comfortable. All the very best Bold Coast trails are 10 to 20-minute, easy drives from here. Bill was incredibly helpful & responsive - and really relaxed. Bed was good and kitchen was well-equipped.

Come whale watching and enjoy northern Maine and Canada
We like the authentic, older houses in the USA; it gives a warm feeling and old tech does work.
Lubec is a nice little place with easy access to the water and nature. We loved all of the lighthouses in the area, both East and West Quoddy.

Charming Home With Character
This was a perfect location for our purposes. The house was well equipped all around—kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, bedrooms. The downstairs furniture was very comfortable and the collection of boardgames was a nice touch. The wireless Internet was fast and having a Roku there was nice as well. Beautiful weather this time of year and the coast was very pretty. Lubec is a small fishing town—not really a tourist town, but it was perfect for a quiet getaway. It’s also convenient to have an IGA grocery right across the street. Bill was a great host and responded promptly to all inquiries!

Great place!
Stayed here with my two sons and dogs for a few days days. Spent the days at the beach and evenings at home barbecuing and movies. A super friendly neighborhood, close to the ocean and peer fishing. When I think of lubec, this was exactly the type of place one would have in mind. Charming location. We will without a doubt return!

Updated but still old and dated
Overall our stay was relaxing and comfortable. The TV due to Time Warner is beyond difficult to get working. One call to the owner got it on night one then a call to TW to get it working night two and the picture would freeze up and need resetting several times. Leaving left over food and open condiments may be ok but my better half wanted nothing to do with them. Plus she was concerned about the cleaning when she found a lobster shell under the dining room table. The area is beautiful which is why we came here.

Felt right at home!
We really enjoyed our stay. This home is spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. The location is perfect, you can walk to the waterfront, restaurants and the ferry to Eastport. There is a private, shady backyard for hot summer days. It's just the right house for a stay in Lubec. We are already planning a return trip and hope we will be welcome back to the Vintage Coastal Home!

Lovely older home convenient to services and sightseeing.
I rented this home for my sister and I along with my daughter and grandson. It was more than adequate. It was clean and even though the kitchen was small and not great it was very well equipped. We boiled lobsters made risotto, baked blueberry muffins.
The only drawback was that both bathrooms are upstairs and my sister is not very good on stairs. We also had issues with the cable. I have spectrum here in Wisconsin and yet it was really difficult to figure out how to get it to work. We stayed a week, taking a painting workshop by a local artist. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking. We also ate at the brew pub downtown and it was funky and delicious.I would stay again . It was reasonable and lowkey

Charming old home conveniently located
I live in Maine but was looking for a getaway for the week to explore another part of the state. I found this home online. The owner Bill responded to all my questions and was available by phone. The home is large and spacious with pretty much everything you would need. It was very clean with plenty of room for a larger family. The beds were comfortable. It is not handicap accessible or meant for elderly people or disabled persons as the bathrooms and bedrooms are all upstairs, but this was not an issue for my family. Lubec is a wonderful, scenic town. Food choices are expensive and limited, which is why we made good use of the well appointed kitchen and the grocery store you can walk to. I would gladly stay here again. And for the record, the Tarquin whale watch was fantastic!
