Great location, love the earthy feel/ plants / cats / decoration. Super cute place over all. Cool common areas as well
The room we stayed at was super stuffy, the fam barely did anything since it was one for 3 people, mosquitoes were also a problem since the fan wasn’t strong enough to keep them off all of us. The dogs were barking super loud in middle of the night, there’s a dog staying right next to room 4 and it’s quite loud throughout the night. Lastly we had super noisy neighbors from the city that were up drunk and super loud in the common area right by room 2. Not problems caused by the hotel but maybe things they could ask guests not to do.

Near a lot very convenient location and very nice common area that is always being maintained aswell as the cleanliness of the suits and bathrooms
Mombasa is right next door it is pretty loud but I didn’t mind it

location not as being told on booking, but further away from the noise
-1: reception: manager of hostel is unfriendly, non communicative and didn’t want to walk us to the room to help us to the different location
-2: room: we booked a room with ac, but received a room with only a fan. after complaining the next day we could change rooms but no apologies or remuneration for not having the correct room. Be aware this, photos are not correct on booking. Although there was daily outside cleaning, the rooms were not clean. including a friendly cockroach.
-3: towels; we received too few towels and after complaining reluctantly were given some by the ‘manager’.

There are several important attributes that are essential for successful hospitality management. Some of the most important ones are:
Strong communication skills: Communication is vital in the hospitality industry as it involves interacting with customers, employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Hospitality managers need to be able to communicate effectively with all these parties to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the business is running smoothly. There was no communication among employees in this hostal regarding the guests.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL. The hospitality industry is all about providing the best possible experience to customers, which means paying attention to every detail, no matter how small. Managers should have a keen eye for detail and be able to ensure that everything is perfect, from the cleanliness of the hotel room to the presentation of the food. On Saturday, April 15th I paid for my nights stay with a 500 peso blue Benito Juarez. Despite it being slightly torn, we fixed it and I kindly asked if it would be fine and the girl said that would be fine and gave me my change.
The next morning after explaining to 3 of the workers that I am moving into my apartment on Monday April 17th agreed that I could pay for one more night before I moved into my new apartment. According to the 4 girls in the front desk they claimed I did not pay the previous night and owed 1000 mxn for the 2 nights. Finally, the girl who accepted the bill came around and when asked about the situation she denied that I had paid. This girl stole the money and made no record of me paying for my night there. 1 hour later, after being told I couldn't pay for one more night, along with the main girl holding my 500 mxn as ransom, and me bringing a friend who witnessed me pay, they agreed that I had paid. This was the most unprofessional interaction I've had in a "hotel"/ hostal . What a joke of a "proffesional establishment".

the location is great
the heat is horrible and a fan is not enough

the location is amazing, the garden was great
the water from the shower was not enough and not enough light in the room

It’s in a good location for restaurants and an area of the beach for swimming.
There’s not a lot in terms of soundproofing so it’s very noisy at night until quite late.

Friendly staff, kitchen to use, shops nearby
Where do I start? The hostel is located in the middle of a busy party area, the windows have mosquitonets instead of glass which means not only the hot air gets through but also ALL of the noise. Super loud music (bass!), drunk people shouting, dogs barking and the sound of motorcycles won‘t let you sleep. WiFi is super weak, most of the time just not working at all. The bathroom is so tiny, when you shower the toilet gets wet too. Uncomfortable bed, fan not working, super hot in the room. I regret not listening to the reviews. Waste of money!

Simply Perfect, the best place around La Punta, when you go out through the hostel door, you already look at the sea, very calm hostel with opportunity to grab some beers on the rooftop and meet other people. Really nice vibe, the staff is amazing and helpful, completely clean and safe, the rooms are neat and good protection against mosquitos, also I did not feel hot at nights. Bathrooms really clean!
Nothing, everything was perfect from rooms through staff to cleanliness.

The property is well located but because of that its very noisy. The room was as described but i didnt realise there is no glass in the windows so noise travels straight in constantly. The staff were all really lovely.
Noise was quite bad with loud bars next door until 11pm, sometimes longer, late night cinemas until 2am, trucks delivering things from the early hours. And without glass in the windows you can even hear conversations of people walking past. Also the electricity was off quite a bit (which i think was out of their control as it was power cuts). And a few times there was no running water for a few hours at a time (without warning).

The staff was very nice and welcoming. If you like to reside in a very busy area, that's a relevant choice.
First off, it's about personal taste, but even though it's not a party hostel, there is insane amount of noise around it, with up to 3 different music tunes playing at the same time in the late evening, from the surrounding bars and clubs. Nowhere was that level of sound mentioned and I came to have some rest by the beach. I was disappointed.
Then, the room is really small, with no privacy from the outside, it was complicated to shower as the curtain was too short and the water would splash everywhere.
Finally, I realized that the light switch and an electric plug where set in the shower, at risk of getting in contact with water...
That was the thing that made me decide to go on a trip on the coast instead of staying at Chaak.
I only slept one night and had a short conversation with the nice person at the checkin about getting a refund for some of the days from my booking as the bedroom was immediately made available again. But I'm still to hear about anything from them about that.

Beautiful property and lovely open communal space
Unfortunately the property is surrounded by several large bars which play very loud music until 12am so it is hard to sleep!

location is very central which good for those who want to be in the action.
the noise was too much for us, but we enjoyed it when we were a part of it!

Great place in general. Close to the beach, markets and bars. The staff were nice. The place was clean and it was pretty relax during the day. Overall, I liked the place with the price i paid!
Sad for them, there is a bar, that looks quite new, right next the them.. they are playing music till 12h most of the nights we were there. Can be either fun or annoying depending the reason of your travel. The rooms are a bit dark and not so big, so without A/C it can become quite warm at night!

It was very nice to have your own bathroom. Also after a few days I was asked if I would like some clean towels. Everything met my expectations according to what I saw on Booking.com
Since it is so hot in Puerto it would have been nice to have some airconditioning or a fan that isn't so loud. I had to turn the fan of at night because I couldn't sleep with the noice. However, with the heat I sweat a lot in the night which is also not pleasant.
