Dawoo House 1 in Hongdae

The best host ever. Fast reply, very friendly and helpful. Would absolutely recommend a stay here.

I liked the hospitability of the staff. The place was comfortable to stay.

The check-in was totally easily and the room was really clean and had all you could need for a short stay. (Maybe a teeny bit small if you have bigger luggage). The bed was really big and comfy and the aircon was great for the hot summer days. Plus the location is just perfect for a stay in Seoul and not too loud eventhough Hongdae is just around the dorner.

My room was right next to the entrance so i woke up a few times cause i could hear people coming back late at night / leaving early in the morning. And sadly there was a rather big spot of mold on the right corner of the ceiling (20-30cm), so i wouldn't have felt comfortable staying longer than one or two nights.

Location and price. The stuffs is trying their best to solves things.

You have to think of it as: “you just need a bed around Hongdae, you can’t pay more, and even if it’s not satisfying, you won’t complain.” I usually only give good reviews, but this room was… very small — I couldn’t even fully open my luggage. It also smelled strongly of mold. The window couldn’t really be opened if you wanted to keep any privacy. The hot water was partly broken; I even had to take a cold shower in winter, although they did fix it after I reported it. The AC couldn’t be turned on because the remote had no batteries, and the battery connector tab inside the remote looked twisted or burnt. After they gave me a new battery, the remote became very hot, so I was too worried to keep using it. This was my experience. I think the hotel has a lot of room for improvement.
