Property was incredibly well kept. Kitchen was well stocked, easy to cook for a large crowd. Caretaker was immediately responsive to any needs.
And the location is stunning, the views are spectacular. We all loved our stay-it came to an end too soon.

The perfect mountain retreat! Close to stores, restaurants, hiking, but private and a mountain cabin experience! Well appointed, beautifully decorated, clean, and nature abounds. Absolutely loved our stay!

We were fortunate enough to spend six lovely weeks at this wonderful cabin situated in a national forest. Truly lovely with all kinds of mountain animals, flowers and memories! To be repeated…😄

Fantastic family vacation home
Our family of 8 spent 8 wonderful nights together in this beautiful home. Only a 5-10 minute drive into town and close to lots of fun things to do and beautiful countryside. Enjoyed the wildlife and gorgeous sunsets off the balcony. Highly recommend this home for your next mountain top retreat.

Wow. Spectacular. Beautiful. First rate.
My experience - and my families experience - was nothing short of fabulous. This property is one of my favorite mountain properties ever. We loved the homes that were surrounded by woods yet the walk to the point on the property overlooked the valley in the most peaceful, wide way. We spent days hiking around the area and found cooking and resting in the house a joy. This place had everything we wanted - including amazing bedding and lovely furniture. We worked from the houses (all three of us) online and the internet was fantastic - just another benefit of this place. Our dogs were allowed on the property and this was a gift. THANK you so much. As we departed today we imagined wanting to come back during the fall change of colors. This felt like home away from home.

beautiful get away
spectacular retreat with gorgeous panoramic view of mountains and hills. Elke and Brian were responsive to any questions that we had as well as Dusty who was on the grounds. The cabin was immaculate and so comfortable. we can't wait to come back!

Nice, private location out of town in the woods.
If you like wildlife—-
you’ll have a combination of deer, moose and bear wandering by.
If you REALLY like wildlife,—you may not enjoy the array of taxidermied dead animals on display.. Bear, elk, porcupine, raccoon, staring out from every wall.
You may also not enjoy the mice in the kitchen, or the bear who pushed open a screen door and ate a 10-lb bag of dogfood, which we (mostly ) found amusing.
But if you like solitude and a nice big view, it’s great.

All the reviews describe it perfectly but the reality of simply being up on Buff Pass, in a beautiful cabin where all the details are perfectly executed - starting with a welcome call from the owner and property manager, to the claw foot bath tub, and the strategic fire pits all around the property so you can immerse yourself in peace and tranquility - it is simply perfect.
It was great to have our dog be able to come with us so we could all enjoy the holiday. Our young son Oskar loved “saddling up” for breakfast at the bar and grandma enjoyed spending nights playing games and then going back to her little house next door. Just such a great setup.
We loved it! Hope to be back again! Thank you!

Mountain Medicine; This place was secluded and the silence was music to my ears.
If you want overwhelming beauty in all directions and the majesty of mountains surrounding you, this is your place. Our family, my Dad and Mom stayed in the Main House where we would gather every morning for Breakfast and Evening for Dinner and movies after a full day of skiing. We saw 2 moose on the property and 2 fox. 3 of us (me, my husband and daughter) stayed in the guest house which was perfect. The Owner and property manager were very accommodating and both reached out prior to our stay to answer any questions. We would absolutely return to this property.

Nice place to stay with 5 or 6 people. Supposed to sleep 10 people. Only has 5 beds and a few couches. We slept 8 people here and it was way too small and I could not imagine trying to sleep 10 people here. We were all snowmobiling from the cabin and was told it has a place to turn around with a trailer but it did not. We had to shovel a lot of snow away by hand just to get the trailer turned around. They driveway could have been plowed a lot better and made a lot wider. Not meant for a truck and trailer. Also, keep in mind that they do not supply toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags etc… Nice place to stay with a good view but very pricey for what you get. Looks alot bigger in the vrbo pictures. Overall would be a nice place to stay with 5 people if you could afford it. Price was just under 6000 for 7 nights.

Beautiful Place
The place was absolutely amazing. The check in process was simple and extremely straight forward. I would recommend this place without any hesitation. Close to the ski resort. Had a great family vacation with my three kids. We woke up and saw moose early in the morning one day and were visited by a mink one morning.

Stayed in January - Outdoor Enthusiast’s Dream
We stayed for three weeks. The property is breathtaking, especially while the sun is setting. Only 15 minutes to town, but the feeling while you’re there is that you’re in the middle of the forest, which you are. Skiing at Steamboat is only 15-20 minutes away and if you use paid parking, you’re right in the village and a short walk to the gondola.
Would love to try this place in the summer too!

Absolutely Amazing
This property is a little slice of heaven. We spent a week here in December and we all absolutely loved it. The owners and property manager were wonderful- clear communication, helpful, thoughtful, and easy to reach if needed. The home itself is amazing - the pictures dont do it justice. Plenty of space for all of us (including the guest house/space), convenient to town/ski slopes but yet far enough away to enjoy the views, nature, and wildlife (we saw three moose during our stay). During our visit, we had significant snowfall and the road/driveway was plowed promptly each day - 4 wheel drive is still necessary). The Kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen- great for cooking at home! All in all, between the fantastic owners/property manager, the beautiful home and property, and the great town of Steamboat, we will be coming back for sure!

AMAZING
My wife and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The cabin is beautiful and the property is serene. The owners and property manager are incredibly responsive and you can tell they really care based on how they take care of the property. The best part was getting to see the moose roaming around the property due to the alfalfa laid out in several areas. The drive is only 15 minutes from town through buffalo pass and 20 minutes from strawberry hot springs. I highly recommend you stay here for your next visit to Steamboat!

The Perfect Get-Away Cabin
The Cabin and location were heavenly. The fit and finish of the Cabin were top shelf. Elke, Brain, and Dusty were terrific hosts. The grounds, acreage, and vistas from the site are breathtaking. Solitude, scenery, and serenity made my stay the best mountain retreat ever. We are certain to return.

The cabin is very charming and well maintained, located in a beautiful spot in the woods - we saw a moose our first night there! This place has everything you need if you want to cook your meals and not really far to town if you don’t. The furniture is all very nice and comfortable - not the cheap Furniture Row stuff in so many rentals these days. The road to the place is unpaved but nicely maintained - no 4 wheel drive needed. Fantastic and endless hiking are just a short drive from the property. There is an easy to use gas fire pit just a short walk from the cabin overlooking the forest and the outskirts of Steamboat. If you are into stargazing its much easier with the absence of city lights! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay!

Awwww….the cool
Wonderful escape from the Texas heat. We had a fire in the morning and watched the sunset at the fire pit. The cabin is so lovely and comfortable. We had guests join us for one week and stayed very comfortably in the guests quarters.
Thanks to Dusty for always being available and helpful.
Would love to return someday.

We stayed at this property for 2 weeks, but could have stayed twice as long at least! The listing describes it perfectly, photos are very accurate. It is the most peaceful, restful spot I could have imagined. There is literally no sound, except for the birds and the rustling of the aspens. The wildlife is abundant, moose, mule deer, black bear, and foxes, but you must BE QUIET to observe them. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and well organized, beds are incredibly comfortable and the 360 degree wrap around deck offers views from every imaginable angle. It is about a 12-15 minute drive down into town, easy for those who want to go in to the many great Steamboat restaurants, but I personally recommend drinks by the firepit at sunset and staying in! The views from the firepit are nothing short of magical. Vistas as far as your eye can see!The guest cabin is lovely, we had two related adult couples staying out there, but if children are present, you could easily stack 8. Dusti, the caretaker is fabulous, accessible and knowledgeable. The owner Elke, is communicative, accessible and very concerned that that the tenants are accommodated and happy. There just aren't enough stars available in the rating system to do it justice. We will most definitely be going back!MTHHouston

Great place a ways out of town, excellent for hiking and biking. Lots of wildlife.
Main house bedroom is very nice,
but rustic pine spiral staircase might be tricky for some Seniors.
In the adjacent apartment, which “sleeps 8” , there are bunkbeds (2 sets of queen bunks) , only one pair have a door.
It worked OK for us, as we were all one family, but might be a bit misleading if non-related people or couples found themselves sharing bunk space.
Just need a Camping style attitude and all will be well.
The fire-pit sits on a gorgeous site—- amazing view.
Temps were in the nineties , so we had no interest in a fire, but great spot to sit once it cooled off late afternoon.
Hopefully they will add some chairs out there for evening summer cocktails.
On our last evening we were delighted by two strolling moose off the house deck.
