Close to harbour and shops
Back entry dirty, old furniture and furnishings set off son’s allergies. Bunk bed broken - wouldn’t be safe to use top bunk. Youths noisy and climbing on roofs near to property. Finally got code to key safe nearly 90 minutes after check-in time meaning plans to go around the harbour shops on the first day had to be shelved. Was offered another nights stay, but was unable to due to other commitments. No other compensation offered.

The bed was comfortable, the cottage was warm and the shower was good. Location was central
Smell of damp, noisy people late at night shouting, knocking on the door ect. Hair dryer not working, some of the pans were not clean. TV not good

A comfortable property with a great deal of character - from a byegone age.
The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of space.
We really appreciated the provisions awaiting us. Many thanks to Felicity for her hospitality.
Parking wasn’t brilliant but we appreciate we were in the town centre.

Fantastic central location. Beautiful comfortable double bed. Shower fantastic and clean and comfortable throughout with some lovely little extras left for your stay.
Yard area could do with a clean up, but far from a big issue

The location was near to all the attractions, and suited us fine. The cottage was perfect.
We were delighted with everything about the property and location.

it was quaint but really nice central to all amenities
nothing all was good

THe homely feel of the property and and all the facilities that were provided. Our first experience of airbnb type property: hard to imagine it being bettered
No light bulb in ceiling light in living room. Right hand door of wardrobe in main bedroom could stick and be very difficult to open once clothes were inside it!

We loved the decor and the modern touches. Great location and very comfortable.
Small dining area (not much of an inconvenience)

Great location - handy for nearby shops, pubs and restaurants. A wide variety of options within strolling distance. Close to the harbour, with more eating options, and a market every Sunday morning. Lots of great places to visit in the area - castles and coast! Very comfy bed in the main bedroom (bunk beds in the second bedroom). Lots of games and books.
The dining area was in a porch at the back of the house - too cold to use in the winter, we thought. But plenty of eating options in the town and it was possible to have "tray meals" in the living room or snug.

There was no breakfast .
The location of the property was in a very noisy area the noise going on through the night till after 2am we have two dogs who couldn’t settle due to the noise . The property smelt musty when entering .
The enclosed court yard was more like the back alley of a restaurant not clean and tidy at all .
The is no parking outside of the property (which we were aware of )but you have to park two streets away which wasn’t ideal considering the noise of the local teenagers we were a bit concerned about our vehicle.
We actually didn’t stay in this property more than the night of our arrival which was 9pm leaving at 7am the next morning not even sleeping in the beds but choosing to stay downstairs

This is a very conveniently located, roomy, quirky, old fashioned terraced house. Fantastic hostess who had thought of everything we might need. She also provided a very generous welcome pack which was much appreciated after a very wet and difficult journey. Very comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. The house is close to the coastal path to Warksworth, The Queens Plaice with the best fish and chips ever and Rossini one of the best Italians we have ever been to.
Due to the proximity to the main street we did wake early due to delivery vans outside. This also meant the windows did not have a great outlook. I have a bad back and was unable to sit on the dreaded booking .com brown leather settees. This being said overall we were very happy at Windy Rose Cottage and all the kind thoughtfulness of our hostess.

Location was perfect, everything on the doorstep. Lovely little quirky cottage full of antique furniture. Lovely little snug with log burner. Comfortable bed.
The small dining space smells really damp and cold, although there is a small heater. Amazon tv, we couldn’t work out how to use as limited instructions. Could maybe suggest a file of instructions for everything.

Quirky terraced house with eclectic mix of old and new - fully equipperd and comfrtable
Noisy teenagers at night as property was near the High St.

A lovely cottage very homely, excellent bathroom and comfortable bedrooms couldn't fault it.
The host was excellent great communication and left us some milk and eggs for our welcome arrival..
Location was very central which was great for all the local amenities and for getting about but unfortunately we were also blighted by very noisy youths with their antisocial behaviour right outside the property at night.

The location was very good and easy to find, Amble had very good amenities and close to the a marina and small beach, The house was very easy to find and it’s location was great to get out and about and visit the surrounding areas. In the four days we were here we managed to see so much, Alnmouth, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and even ventured to Berwick Upon Tweed. The beaches were lovely and we spent the afternoon on the beach at Bamburgh, so this is well worth a visit. The house had everything you need, comfortable bed.
The house is located on a quiet street with no parking so necessary to park around the corner on the next available street so if you do want to pack the car you just need to drive back to the house.

The Cottage had a small backyard- ideal for dog usages !!
10.0
Centrally located for local shops only a few minutes walk to the beach and harbour area. Plenty of places to visit within a few miles.
We appreciated the ample provisions provided by the host which meant we could relax with tea and biscuits as soon as we arrived without having to go shopping.
Car parking during the day is the only issue, though free on street parking is available a minute or two's walk away.

Really enjoyed our stay at Wind Rose Cottage. Although we didn’t spend much time in the cottage we enjoyed sitting with a drink and a book in the snug at the rear of the property. The kitchen is extremely well equipped for self catering and the welcome pack was a nice touch especially the free range eggs which were delicious. Although it’s in the centre of the town it is quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. The location is perfect for everything you need, shops restaurants pubs and beach all within walking distance.

Right in the middle of Amble close to all amenities, well equipped feels like home from the minute you walk in.

we picked the property for location to family for a visit.
we thought there was a garden but it was just a small courtyard, that unfortunately our dog would not go in.

Lovely and cosy little house right in the centre of town, with deep comfy sofas and gas fire to come home to after a windy winter walk! Communication with the host was quick and helpful, check in and out was really easy with a lockbox code, and the provision of some food basics was nice to arrive to along with a well equipped kitchen.
The log burner smoked badly so we gave up.
The dining room is in a cold conservatory and the electric heater in there smelled of burning dust.
The TV often glitched when streaming (freezing and audio/visual out of sync) and the remote was unreliable.
And the boiler lost water pressure so we woke up to no heating or hot water on our last morning, which the host didn't seem surprised about or apologise for.

Spacious, warm, excellent central position.
Sitting room may be better with one sofa removed, then an armchair and small dining table added. The rear 'conservatory' area is not really ideal for eating in.

Very cosy loved the sofas and the bed was soooo comfy. The shower was amazing
Dining area very cold even though there was a heater. Probably nicer in summer. Would be nice if there was a couple of wine glasses

Excellent location - loved Amble and the surrounding area. The cottage was comfortable with a lovely 4 poster bed. There was a wonderful welcoming package. Christmas decorations a nice touch.
These are not criticisms but hopefully helpful observations. Didn't use the dining room annex as cold and damp. The CD player didn't work and it would have been good to have a DVD player. The oven didn't appear to have a grill tray.
9.0
Central location; warm and cosy; quirky and original layout and decor; good kitchen knives; comfortable seating and beds; fabulous bathroom and shower; a welcome pack of milk, bread, eggs, biscuits and cheese and an extensive library of books.
Parking on a different street ( can't be helped and not really a big deal) and we could have done with a wee bit more washing up liquid in the bottle, but the only thing that really bugged me was a lack of decent-sized cereal bowls...
7.0
Excellent location. Very helpful host
Difficult to keep the property warm
