The unit was well situated next to a trail that allowed us to walk from Fiumelatte to Varenna without being on a road. It was a bit of a walk, but we could also take the train one stop to get to the larger town with restaurants etc. We hope to return one day!

It was a beautiful little apartment great for a long stay along Como. Beautiful views and the hosts could not be more accomodating

We enjoyed very much our days of stay in Varenna. Marilena was the cause of our satisfaction, she is THE BEST!!!

Walk into Varenna roughly around 30/40 mins, which we found okay and no problems, helps burn off all the carbs! Marilena picked us up from station and dropped us at the apartment after doing some shopping. She also very kindly dropped us home a few nights after dinner. Very enjoyable experience overall, would recommend.

Marilena is the greatest host we’ve ever stayed with. Her place is perfect. Go there if you want an authentic experience — don’t expect the glitz of Bellagio or the pampering of the typical tourist experience. Marilena will go above and beyond and her house is incredible.

Marilena couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to spending more time in Varenna. The passing train gave me a bit of a start in the early hours but I awoke later feeling well rested.

Casa Camilla has stunning views of Lake Como. Varenna is a charming city to stay in. Conviene location to arrive by train or ferry. Most notable was our host the gracious Marilena! Can’t say enough about her, she was accommodating and anticipated all our needs. When we couldn’t get a taxi into town it was just one call to her to get it reconciled. The only drawback, if you have mobility issues is the walk to the City Center. We plan to return and stay a month!

Honestly. Staying at this apartment did not feel like a rental at all. You literally feel like you are at the home of a family friend. Marilena makes sure to provide everything you may need for your stay...and then some. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. Parking is included. No outside space, but the view from the apartment is unreal. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Four minute drive to the center of Varenna. Marilena herself is quick to respond to any issues that may arise. One of my husband's front tooth caps fell off. She was able to get us an appointment with a fabulous dentist in Bellano the very next day. I would certainly not hesitate to stay again.

Camilla House in Varenna is a great way to see Lake Como!

Marilena is absolutely a pleasure to deal with. She was receptive, answered all of our questions and made us feel very at home.

Marilena is a wonderful host and thought of everything to make our stay pleasant. Our apartment was clean, comfortable, and homey -- with absolutely spectacular views!! And there is a private beach within walking distance. We loved our stay and the surrounding area and can't wait to return! We highly recommend this apartment!

Its a great place to visit Varenna, but you need a car, or a taxi to go to the center. The place is well equipped with everything you would need. More importantly, the owner, Marilenna, was wonderful. She met us at the train station with a car and help us with luggage, when we checked out.

Marilena was an amazing host in setting up the apartment as well as telling us all the tips and tricks we needed to know. The apartment was perfect and the private parking spot in Varenna is worth it’s weight in gold. There was a walkway down to the lake which we used regularly and never saw anyone else so it was like our own private beach. The apartment is out of the hustle and bustle of the touristy spots so the area is nice and quiet. The train does run just below you but this wasn’t a big deal for us. We got used to it within the first day. All in all a great spot and would go back in a heartbeat!

A very nice apartment overlooking the lake. We did not walk to town- it’s quite a long way. But Marilena has a garage space for free parking that we used. She was a good host and gave us good tips. The best thing we did when we were there was to rent a boat for a few hours to see the lake and villas and towns. Beds were comfortable, all appliances worked well. There is a train that periodically runs by the apartment after 8:00AM but it didn’t bother us. We had access to a small private rocky beach. There is a parking space for the apartment. It was perfect for our stay

Loved staying at Camilla House! Everything was clean and bright, with all the comforts of home and the views of the lake were spectacular (and the landline/fast speed internet was a dream…something we don’t always find when we travel abroad). While we had some April showers on the first days, we still managed to do the 5-7 minute walk into Fiumelatte on the path without any problems. Once in Fiumelatte we were able to stock up on fresh local foods and a few basic supplies at the darling little shop there (and we even enjoyed a nice meal at the Platano restaurant in Fiumelatte, too). From Fiumelattte we would walk the additional 10-15 minutes to the southern edge of Varenna which is a small, charming and very “walkable “village (really nothing is very far away) where we could catch the train or the ferry boat to explore the area further. Our host, Marilena was always available to help us out and was very kind to pick us up from the train station when we arrived and take us back when we left which helped a lot when we had all our luggage. But really the views from Camilla House, even on the rainy days, were amazing. We loved it.

Priceless view of Lake Como. Comfortable apartment. Good bed. We had no car. Our gracious host gave us a ride to and from the train. Apartment is along the Green Way de Patriarchi...a beautiful 1 hour walk to Varenna. We used a local taxi to get to the ferry dock to visit Bellagio and other cities. May be suggested a best stay if you have your own transportation. Long haul without a car.

Casa Camilla was a terrific VRBO for our stay in Varenna. Marilena was the perfect host, providing us with assistance at every step from meeting us at the train to providing a tour of the area. While not in the heart of Varenna, we enjoyed beautiful views of the lake from our windows. The apartment was well furnished, clean, and comfortable. Marilena thought of every detail, and we would definitely return to this lovely place!

We heard about Casa Maddalena from a friend and found it by google. Marilena, the owner, told us that Maddalena was booked but that she had another property , Camilla House in the neighboring town. We were renting a car so it worked for us. What really made it work great is that the Camila house had it's own on site parking spot PLUS Marilena provided another private single car garage right in the town center of Varenna which we could use anytime. That made Camilla House's location just outside of the city a non-problem. Other special perks Marilena provided were an Italian cellphone loaded with her number so we could call for advice and could also use to call to reserve tours and make other arrangements all over Italy. W'OW! As if that were not enough, Marilena provided a cute little washing machine and drying racks in the Condo! So appreciated as we were on a 2 week tour of Italy. The bed and the apartment were comfortable and there were 2 sofa beds in the living room so it would be perfect for a family although we had no use for them. Her kitchen is very well equipped and she truly tried to think of everything we might need right down to a couple of umbrellas in an umbrella stand We rent a beach condo at Edisto Beach and we really have tried to be the same kind of owner but she has us beat! I have never rented travel accommodations from anyone who tried so hard to be helpful. Oh, and I forgot to mention, it's on a hillside looking right down on Lake Como. What a beautiful view. Be sure and look Marilena Anghileri up. She'll fix you up with a great place. Would I recommend this vacation rental to my best friend? Yes. Less

The apartment was well equipped and very clean. Great location and the available parking garage was very convenient. Mariela is a wonderful host and has thought of everything. We would definately consider this apartment if we return to Lake Como. We hope the weather will be nicer than it was for us so that we could enjoy the beach!

We spent four nights at Marilena's comfortable apartment south of Varrena and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, the view of Belaggio, and the well equipped kitchen. She met us at the train station and explained the town and region while taking us to her apartment. She was helpful and available. The apt. is just over a mile from town and we found the walk a good time to meet people and appreciate the lake shore.

The views of the lake and surrounding mountains were stunning. The condo was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The owner was very helpful. She picked us up at the train station, oriented us for our stay, and took us back to the trains for our departure. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely return. Note that we did lots of walking. There are taxis, if required. Chris S.
