The location and size fit our group well. The view was very nice. It was great to be able to cook our catch each evening. It was easy to contact the owner and he replied quickly when I had questions.

I recommend Stephen (premier host) for Kodiak stays. He went out of his way to get us in early. He supplied us with rental car, ample coffee, chocolate and bear spray (all we needed). He was terrific. The property is a great base camp location. The deck & living area have excellent views of the channel, and walk-able to downtown. The deck was a great add. Watching boats come & go was terrific. Recommended!

We stayed at The Catch 3 years ago, and were impressed enough to stay there again. We love the open living space and kitchen, and you can’t beat the view! Stephen promptly replied to our questions, and we rented a great truck from him as well. Although it is located on a fairly busy street, the place was nice and quiet. We recommend The Catch!

Nicely decorated house. Clean with great views. Close to most everything.

The location and views from property were wonderful. It was very easy to communicate with the owner. We enjoyed our visit to Kodiak.

The place is nice. Close to town and marinas, that was good for us. Easy to get a hold of owner for any issues. Way better that staying at a hotel.

We had a wonderful stay in Kodiak. Stephen was very helpful and responsive. We came with our kids and enjoyed using the kitchen and socializing in the great room. The views of the boats traveling in and out of the channel, the float planes taking off and landing on Near Island, and the whales feeding in the distant water made our stay extra special. We also rented the truck which made our trips to the store and coffee shops very easy. The home is in good walking distance to almost everything, but the truck was nice for getting out to our hiking spots and Safeway/Walmart. Stephen also took us whale watching one night. We had great weather and I definitely recommend taking this special boat tour. It's a great way to see the Island from a different perspective. Plus the whale watching was fantastic too.

Lovely views, good location, all-in-all a welcoming home and Stephen as a truly great host. This all creates a perfect blend that makes The Catch a perfect base for a several days’ discovery of Kodiak. The four of us just loved it and we do hope we will come back one day...

Instead of writing a lengthy review I will just say when we go back to Kodiak we will be staying at the "catch" and there is not a finer person to deal with than Stephen Foreman!

This house had everything the four of us needed: lots of space to spread out including a spacious entryway to take off our boots and jackets, plenty of amenities, and a great view of the channel. Stephen checked with us our first day to make sure everything was OK, which we thought was a nice personal touch. Bald eagles were soaring by the living room window (close!) every day. And his truck came in very handy, as we drove the entire length of the Kodiak road system! We highly recommend this place!

Our stay at The Catch was fantastic .More than enough room for the six of us,with a great location on Kodiak.Will most defiantly go back in the future!!

My group of fishing buddies made this our base camp for several excursions around Kodiak. The house was a nice, clean, comfortable, and well appointed place to relax in the evenings and enjoy the great view. I plan to bring my wife and daughters to Kodiak and will definitely be staying here again. Owners were very helpful in assisting me with planning out our trip as well.

This is our first review of the Catch. We have been there 2 years in a row and already planning on next year. The house is located on the main road in town. That's not a problem, but a plus. Most everything you're looking for except fishing is located in town. We were a group of four adults and we thoroughly enjoy the comforts this home provides us while on our fishing vacation. The pictures are very accurate, and the owners are excellent to work with. The mud room is great tool for us fisherman with gear. We have grown quite comfortable with the Catch and highly recommend the house.

This is a fantastic house with a great view in Kodiak. We would highly recommend.

The home was as advertised, clean, comfortable with a good view of the beautiful bay and mountains. Kodiak has incredible sights. Having the truck available was very helpful and appreciated. Be sure to bring or buy whatever you need - salt, pepper, conditioner, laundry detergent, etc and be prepared to do some chores at the end of your stay.

We rented Stephens property for a weeklong stay in Kodiak during our annual fishing trip. Over the years we've stayed in motels, but this was far more comfortable and at a comparable cost. Stephen was an excellent host and responded quickly to any questions that we had. Our party consisted of four guys and it was nice to have plenty of room for us and all our gear. Everyday we returned with wet waders and rain jackets, that were hung downstairs in the laundry/boiler room to quickly dry. A large living room, kitchen and dining room provided space to prep meals, eat and relax. The bedrooms all had plenty of space with comfortable beds. We never felt crowded and quickly got used to our home away from home. The location is extremely convenient, with parking immediately by the front door. This was important as we loaded/unloaded gear from the car everyday. We were literally just minutes from downtown and the grocery store. It was exactly what we were looking for. I would certainly use this property again for a future visit to Kodiak.

I stayed twice at the apartment and everybody really enjoyed the place. Very comfortable for 6 persons with a well equipped kitchen, clean rooms and bathroom, and a large dining and tv area. Washing and drying machines were more than appreciated after a remote trip. We also loved the location with the view on the ocean and the proximity of the port and the seaplane airport. We walked to the restaurants (Old Powerhouse and Henry's), the liquor store and to buy fishing gear. Owner came by to offer some fish (excellent by the way) and took time to talk to us about the place. We will sure be back on our next trip to Kodiak.

I have been to Kodiak many times on vacation and finally found the perfect home to rent. It is a very modern and spotless home overlooking the ocean inlet to Kodiak. We cooked fresh fish several nights and dined with a great view of ships entering and leaving the harbor. The kitchen was fully stocked with every untensil we needed…. The owner met us at the home and geve us a great walk through along with ideas of things to do while in Kodiak. Couldn't have been nicer ! The location was perfect..just a minute from the harbor for our sport fishing charters…and close to all the restaurants as well… The weather can be rainy, so having a nice house to spread out in and relax, play games with the family etc was great. The large screen TV was a hit on the rainy days. We fished with Happy Hooker Charters and went 4 wheeling with Salty Fly Safaris…both get 5 stars along with this home. Great trip - great home to rent !
