Unser Haus ist ein einzigartiges Anwesen, nicht nur in Avon, sondern in den Outer Banks als Ganzes. Kürzlich renoviertes Haus für entspanntes Strandleben. Die Liegenschaft umfasst einen großen 2 Hektar großen Rasengarten direkt neben dem Nationalpark und 144 Meter von Sound Front Beach. Dies ist ein Traumhaus für Kite Boarder und Windsurfer, das auch bei Familien und Fischern beliebt ist. Sunset BBQs am Strand sind die besten in der Gegend.

We were a family group of grandparents, siblings + spouses, and small children/grandchildren. The house and location are even better than the photos show and was absolutely perfect for our family vacation, with stunning sunsets at the sound, and only a block walk to a quiet, beach access that we had almost to ourselves! Home was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with what we needed to make some group meals. The upstairs bunkbed area was the perfect retreat for the littles! We were so comfortable and happy here - we hope to come back soon!

Overall we loved the property and the house itself. The biggest issue was that when we got there to check in the code to the front door was not working and I was unable to get a hold of the owner for an hour to get inside. After we finally got in we were so afraid of getting locked out that we had to leave the back door unlocked most of the time we were there. I didn't really feel safe doing this all the time but I felt like we had no choice and I didn't want to stress about getting locked out on vacation. The only other issue was that the washing machine seemed to not work quite right sometimes. Overall though the house was the perfect size and an awesome place to hang out. We loved the back area to fish and dig for crabs and shells, we even rented kayaks one day and took them right out of the backyard into the water. The private water in the back definitely makes the place!

I’ve rented various properties on Hatteras Island every fall for my surf fishing trips for the last few years . This is by far my favorite one. From the private beach on the sound to the surf right across the street, you can’t go wrong. The owner was awesome too, very helpful with any questions I had. Definitely will rent again in the near future!

Our family of 8 had an amazing stay at this property. It’s location is pretty unbeatable and the private beach is pure heaven! So private and spacious, I have never seen such incredible sunsets! Don was an amazing host and very responsive. Thanks Don, we hope to visit again next year!

We have stayed at this property three times and each time has been a wonderful experience. The private beach area on the sound is fantastic. Our grandkids love catching and releasing hermit crabs and we even encountered a stingray this last trip. It’s just a short walk across the street to the beach, but we actually drive to the beach that’s just 1/4 mile away and we are usually the only family there. The location of this property couldn’t be better. The house itself is very cozy. The kids get the entire upstairs loft to themselves and it very comfortably fits our four grandkids. We love the outdoor shower and the laundry room. It’s nice to have the capability to wash swim suits and towels throughout your stay. All in all, this property has been a blessing to our family and we wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else in the Outerbanks.

Don’s house met all of our needs and the location was excellent!! Super well stocked kitchen, beautiful sunsets on the sound, lovely beach across the road, easy to find activities. Definitely a high recommendation from us.

Family Get Together
Lots of room inside and outside on this property. The contrast between the front of the home opening up to the main drag and the back of the home opening up to lots of space leading to the beach on the sound side gave us everything we needed.

Awesome location!
I was a little nervous about the fact that this house sits right on the highway, but it was never an issue. The yard that backs up to the Sound was the absolute BEST part of the house! We could walk out back and fish all day long, without having to drive anywhere. Everything was just a quick trip down the street as well.

1st fam vaca
Don was excellent with his communicative emails. The house is so cozy I felt right at home! It rained the majority of the time, so we spent a lot of the vaca indoors. Thankfully there's a dart board the kids enjoyed, netflix and plenty of room so you aren't piled on top of one another. I couldn't have chosen a better location to book for our first ever fam vaca than this charming home. Thank you!

The sound beach was beautiful and our family enjoyed it nightly. We rented kayaks and a SUP from Ocean Air sports as Don recommended and used them in the sound—definitely the highlight of our trip! The mosquitos are pretty bad in the evening, so definitely bring a long sleeve shirt and pants to watch the sunset! We would definitely stay here again!

Cozy house on the bay
Enjoyed the time on the bay seeing the activity there and having the ocean so close is a plus. Don is great to work with and very friendly and knows the area well and can give lots of recommendations of whatever you want to do because he has lived there for many years.

Great Location for Beach Getaway
Spent a week at Don’s place. The property is great and has a wonderful private beach on the sound side where you can fish and watch beautiful sunsets. The house is also a very short drive to the pier and beach access. The house itself was perfect for our stay and we had tons of room for activities around the property. Don was easy to communicate with and very responsive if we had a question. Looking forward to booking our next stay at the big blue house!

We had a nice relaxing time at this rustic cottage. Don was very easy to communicate with and clear about check in procedures and the surrounding area. The private beach was very nice but the sound is very shallow here which worked great for us with young kids who could swim but always were able to stand up.
The house is on the older side but was a nice quiet location that is still central to a lot of activities and great sunset views.

Perfect place for a family with 2 small kids
We had a great time! The house and location were perfect for our family with 2 small kids (2 and 4).
They swam in the sound for hours. And found tons of hermit crabs.
It was a 10 minute walk to the ocean
