This cottage is an amazing slice of paradise. It sits in the middle of a botanical garden with the most beautiful view of the ocean. The cottage is equipped with just about everything you need except food. Michael and Terry are wonderful hosts and will deliver you farm fresh eggs if you want them, which you will. 😋 This will be our place to stay in Hana.

my husband and I loved our stay at Terry and Michael’s place just 8 miles from Hana. Terry greeted us when we arrive and gave us a rundown on the cottage. We are very pleasantly surprised at the beautiful view and the quaintness of the cottage. The bed was comfortable as well as the linens. I would highly recommend staying here.

Words can’t really describe our stay. It was wonderful. I felt like we were living in the midst of a tropical jungle - the beautiful flowers, trees, and plants were amazing. The cottage was so unique, clean, and well equipped, and what we didn’t have, our host, Terri, graciously supplied. And speaking of our hosts, Terri and Michael were so warm and kind. I felt like they were family. Terri gave us a tour of the flower farm shortly after arrival. She was so knowledgeable and showed us so many stunning flowers and plants. The views from the cottage are beautiful and we loved the nighttime sounds of nature with all the windows and doors open. We also loved the company of Kit and Kat- the resident outdoor kitties who are very friendly! I would highly recommend staying here if you want a truly unique and beautiful experience. It’s much more than just a place to sleep. We hated to leave and next time would stay more than 2 nights!

This place is paradise! The absolute perfect place to get away from the crowds, decompress, and enjoy peace and quiet. Fresh eggs, fruit, juice, and herbs complimentary from the host made our breakfast one that we will never forget! Picking fresh ripe fruit from the garden in the morning is the best way to start your day! Kit, Kat, and Star were the best travel pets and we loved having them around! This is an amazing place to stay! It is unlike anything we’ve experienced before! You wake up to an ocean view & fresh eggs from their farm! We walked the property which is so beautiful- the flowers, plants & animals- including Kit & Kat-the kitties~we loved them!❤️ This property is close to the town of Hana & offered a great location for checking out the Black Sand Beach, Pipiwai Trail, Hamoa Beach, Lindbergh’s gravesite & lots more! This was such a unique experience! Terry & her husband are very responsive to any questions about the property; they go above & beyond to making your stay unforgettable! Hoping to make it back to Maui someday & we would definitely stay longer than 2 nights next time!

Great stay at a great property. The grounds are incredible, the views sensational. Terry and Michael were wonderful hosts. The location felt like a great stopping point on the road to Hana, affording us some much needed respite after arriving on the island and driving the road. It was also then suitably located for adventures on the days that followed to easily reach farther destinations before the crowds. No qualms in recommending as a place to stay. Your breath will be taken. Mahalo.

Words and photos can not give justice to the wonderful beauty of this property and home. The amazing diversity of plants, flowers and colors is wonderful…. The hosts are warm and inviting and a wealth of knowledge about their property and all of the surrounding area. We are so happy and grateful to have found such a great place- forever grateful for our experience.

I went to two other Arboretums that same day and neither came close to the magical wonderland of these gardens. The horticulturist from the Honolulu Botanical Gardens decide to retire here and what an Avata- like.Garden of Eden he and his wife have created. The plants are remarkable and set together in such lovely ways. There are even signs idenidilying the soecies. Everything about the place speaks of magic and beauty and creativity.There is an art studio in the back of the property which they generously allow you to visit. There are lots of circles: circular paths and open circles with just grass and a central item. One is a wild huge metal ball and the other is a small circular pond with gorgeous flowers in it. I saw so many flowers my heart almost burst. We only stayed one night and it wasn’t enough. Michael and Terry are welcoming and helpful but also respectful of your privacy. The Cabin itself is set up to be both lovely yet comfortable space.The kitchen has everything you need to really cook! And the shower is nice and super hot! Plus there is an outside shower. There is an amazing view of the ocean from the windows and back covered deck. There are also two kitties, who don’t get to come in the cabin to protect guest with allergies, but they are part of the welcome crew and so sweet. I was blown away by what a truly lovely and inviting space they have created. Oh one more thing they leave you fresh eggs from their chickens and they are so good.

Just stayed one night with a friend. My passion is gardening so I really enjoyed the property.

This stay was absolutely amazing, I wish we could have spent our whole time on Maui here at the cottage. This is the perfect place for quiet and relaxation. The view is SPECTACULAR!!! Love love love it.

This cottage had all we needed and more. I was not expecting all of the extras such as seasoning and coffee beans with a grinder as well as so much more! The owners were very accommodating when we needed to drop luggage earlier then check in. My only regret was not being able to stay more than one night. The grounds were beautiful and we were free to roam. The view was unbeatable! We were greeted immediately and check in and check out was easier than ever! We hope to be lucky enough to come back one day! Our only suggestion would possibly be a tower/floor fan to blow directly on the sleeping area at night but that's just what we're used to at home. The bed was so comfortable. You will not be disappointed with this stay!

This location was fabulous, as long as you realize you're in the rain forest part of the island! It was cool enough at night with a breeze so you don't need AC (there is a portable one). We left the windows open. The Coqui are loud, so you'll need earplugs, but they are all over the island now, not really a way to avoid them on the Hilo side. Kitchen has dishes and pans. We brought our own knives and oil, so we were set. Rice cooker was handy. Owner supplies drinking water, which is great. Washer and dryer were very handy as well. One toilet is outside with the washer and dryer which is odd, but it was fine. There's a door and it's not like you can see any neighbors. Wifi was fine, watched a movie on my phone. They do have DVD selection. Pretty tired after hiking in Volcano NP, so didn't really need TV.

Im a goer, climbed Haleakala by bike the day before I rented it, the the place caused me to slow down, listen to nature and appreciate the silence and beauty.

Absolutely amazing property and cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay. We spent most of the first night just looking at the night sky in the breezes and darkness. Very clean and well-maintained. The gardens in the property are really something. And I’m very grateful to Terry and Michael for the heads up on need for black sands beach reservations. It’s a pretty remote place and with Hana Road being what it is, you’re far away from “resort” style experience, which we got on out last night in Maui in Lahaina. So if that’s what you want, be aware of that. But I would strongly recommend this location for any adults looking to see a wilder Maui.

I didn’t want to drive the road to Hana out and back in one day. This was the perfect location to take a break and enjoy a great sunset from the room. Thanks for opening your home to us!

We enjoyed our stay at Entabeni. The views were spectacular. The place offered just what we were looking for: a quiet, peaceful, secluded location. Terry warmly greeted us and provided a lovely tour of the cottage and property.

Perfect getaway - felt like more 'authentic' Hawaii than other areas of Maui, with gorgeous natural landscape and sweeping views of the Pacific. Hosts were friendly and helpful - even arranged for fresh Mahi Mahi to be grilled on our Lanai BBQ - one of our best dinners while on Maui! Would highly recommend this VRBO for a peaceful, tranquil getaway - everything you need at your fingertips, including beautiful Hawaiin art throughout. We especially loved our morning coffees on the lanai with our friendly resident cat 'Kit'! Nearby Hana (15 min drive away) is a quiet laid-back town with beautiful, quiet beaches in the vicinity including the spectacular Black Sand Beach (reservations required but well worth it).

We had the most amazing time staying in this beautiful cottage and exploring all that East Maui has to offer. The cottage is perfect - Terry and Michael have thought of everything that you could need, making this a wonderful place to stay. It is located on the most beautiful grounds with lavish gardens all around it. Fresh eggs for breakfast every day and even some delicious apple bananas from the garden! We can't say enough great things - it was our favorite place in our 2 weeks in Maui and we were so happy we were there for 4 nights! We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance to return to Maui!

A great location if you are looking to break up your road to Hana or looking to stay for a while longer. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the house and grounds are beautiful. Sleeping at night with all the windows and doors open is amazing. House has everything you need. We would definitely stay here again.

This cottage and amazing property was just what we needed for our honeymoon. Terry and Michael were amazing hosts and made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. They gave us lots of good tips about the island, where to go/not to go. The work they have put into the property (which they allowed us to roam around as we pleased) is so impressive and inspiring. The cottage is in the perfect spot on the island- secluded enough to get some peace and quiet, and just a short drive into Hana. The views are amazing and the entire property feels like a rainforest sanctuary. The experience we got here wouldn’t have been the same with if we stayed at a busy beach resort- this place is quiet, beautiful, and relaxing! We feel like we got a true Maui experience. We are SO glad we chose to stay here and didn’t want to leave!! Thank you Terry and Michael!

We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. If you have an interest in botany or just love to see exotic flowers, look no further. The property is truly exceptional. The cottage is very nice with lots of character, thoughtful touches, and more than everything we needed. The view of the ocean from the cottage was better than expected too. Fantastic stay! Very private and beautiful property with great host!

Terry and Michael are extremely welcoming. They encouraged us to walk around their lovely property and art studio. You are completely enveloped by the tropical destination. They delivered fresh eggs for us to enjoy for breakfast each morning. The views are incredible - from stunning sunrises to spectacular stargazing. Be sure to visit the Hana Harvest Cafe just down the road for yummy snacks and a lunch to take for a picnic or hike. Book your day pass 30 days before your arrival for Wainapanapa State Park (Terry's reminder was spot on). It's incredible scenery and a great hike along the coast. Have fun in Hana!
