This is an old building undergoing major renovation to both individual units and the exterior superstructure.
The renovation appears to have started several years ago and continues M-F from 8a to 4p. There is significant noise from the work efforts, large vibration, jack hammer, and general work noise.
The pool is closed M-F until 5p, and you may have to get security to unlock the pool.
The units don't have AirCon, and it is not really needed when you open unit road side facing windows or door. Excellent cross wind most of the time. My unit has ceiling fans which keeps great circulation. However if you have to close up do to noise or smell, unit gets warm and stuffy very fast.
There is significant road noise, as you are right on main road Rt 83. During the day not a major issue, but at night with bedroom on road side and windows open, you hear every car going by. This can be very disturbing. The window needs to be open at night to keep fresh cool air flow.
There is a beautiful beach with soft white sand and easy access from the back green space.
The green space has a number of lounge chairs, not enough for whole building, but people are good about sharing.
There are many miles of beach and park within walking and easy drive, many options and types.

This was a nice, comfortable, and spacious condo, with a separate bedroom and full-sized kitchen. Also a large living area. If I picked up on it from reviews, I had forgotten it had no air conditioning - until I walked in and began to look for the thermostat. First day was a bit tough, as it was a mostly rainy day, so much wetter air coming in. After that, we began to understand which way the wind was blowing in morning and evening, so took advantage of it. Since the bedroom (with a very comfortable bed, by the way) is on the street side of the unit, we couldn't take advantage of the breeze while sleeping because of car noise. So we turned both fans on and left windows open until just before getting in bed.
Other than that, though, it was a very pleasant stay. Hearing the ocean constantly in the living room and kitchen was soothing. Wi-Fi was good. Washer is very noisy when running, but it does a great job. (Just telling you that so it won't shock you.)
Barbara was great at communicating quickly. We did our own cooking for dinner, which was even more relaxing - not needing to drive the roads again. But we could go to any number of beaches and parks up and down the coast (away from the city hustle on the other side of the island), or just stay and play on the beach at the condo during the day.
It was a very nice visit for us.

We stayed at this VRBO property for three nights in mid-October. It is very well located for exploring the North Shore of Oahu and visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center. The property is on a beautiful beach and there are wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean, the reefs offshore, and sunrises in the morning. The mountains are right behind the building and add more spectacular views. Our unit was very well stocked with everything we needed.

Construction was still going on but overall the condo was comfortable and clean. Ocean view was wonderful and watching the sunrise each morning very memorable.

Our situation was a bit abnormal. A few days leading up to our stay, the owner let us know that because of the renovations outside, our balcony would not be accessible. She offered to refund us or give us a discount. Because we were so close to our visit, there weren't other options in our price point, so we opted for the discount. She was very accommodating in getting a portable ac unit since we couldn't depend on the breeze from the sliding door. She reached out the day we were arriving to tell us that the facility workers were now scheduled to work on our unit beginning a few days into our stay. The workers needed to be in the unit and work throughout the day. Obviously, this was not ideal. The owner was able to secure one of the cottages on property for us to move to for the remainder of our stay. So again, not what one would want to deal with while on vacation but the owner was very accommodating and wanted to make things right. My family still had a wonderful time and we are thankful she was doing her best to make our trip as smooth as possible. The space worked well for our family of four.

While the building renovations provided some unexpected challenges and we were unable to open the lanai door, the unit itself was wonderful, so well equipped. Barbara has thought of everything! We absolutely loved the location, and views from the backside of the condo were as spectacular as the ocean views.
This is absolutely NOT the place if you want nightlife and fine dining, but if you are looking for a step back in time to older days gone by, solitude, natural beauty an abundance of mom & pop stores and food trucks, it’s perfect!
We fell in love with the North Shore and we hope to return someday and see this place in its full glory when all renovations are complete.

While we knew the building was undergoing repairs, we were not aware the entire 5th floor and railing were gone/removed. The heavy smell of mold was present from the bed and couch. I personally killed 6 cockroaches. But dozens more smaller ones were present in the kitchen sink and on the range each morning. The unit is advertised as being renovated. But the refrigerator is 10 yrs old, the rusty range looked at least that old, and so did the couch. Which begs the question, Exactly when was that renovation?

Notified in advance about construction at the property. With three options. Cancel with refund, continue with reservation and get a 30% refund, or owner would pay the difference for a unit away from construction area. We said go with unit away from construction area. Received communication the day before arrival retracting her offer for the other unit. Leaving us with only option to cancel or accept 30%discount and keep the reservation with a statement that construction was ahead of schedule, no work being done near her unit along with very little noise. Elected to retain the unit at discounted price. Woke up first morning to two construction workers removing rebar from her balcony. No curtains in unit. Workers had full view of inside of unit while grinding and cutting in balcony during our full stay. Sent pictures to owners, of workers on lift while working on balcony. Owner has not contacted us or given us the refunded the discount. Not a good experience with this owner or unit.

We loved this location and will plan to stay here in the future. The manager (Tisha) was responsive and helpful. Beach is right out the front door, bed was comfortable, and the unit was clean. Great experience!

Complex under construction. No lanai , no access through slidingdoor even for fresh air. Constant loud construction noise. No pool acess from 8:30 to 6 pm.
Manager promised half our cost refund, hopefully that will be true!

Location was good. Beach was wonderful. Building is really falling apart though. Literally whole side of building looks like it fell off. Lots of construction is going on which was described to us right away. Honest construction was fine accept they would take our spots leaving barely anywhere to park. This place only has a portable ac unit so bedroom is hot even with fans. And you can't open window because there's lots of highway noise at night. Kitchen is equipped nicely. Refrigerator looks a little rusted but works properly. There is some beach stuff there. Chairs, some noodles, and a couple boogie boards. Overall, it was worth it because the beach rocks there and checkin is very smooth.

One look out the window and you know you are in paradise.. if you are looking for high end luxury this is not for you. If you are looking for a trip away on your schedule this is the place. Close enough to anything that you can be there in 45 minutes yet private enough you don’t have to share with too many others. You can live like a local

Condo is located over fantastic beach and snorkeling bay. Major construction happening on condo but wasn't an issue. Condo bath and kitchen were both clean and comfortable. Suggest doing something about the bed - it unfortunately was a backbreaker for me.

Great stay with our 2 teenage boys for Christmas. You need a car to get around, but that is what we always do so we can go to different places each day. No AC, but you don't need it with the ocean breezes, slightly lower temps than Honolulu, and the way the unit faces. Temps were 24/25C during day and 19/20C at night, 68-78F. North shore, great food trucks, grocery store, etc, all short drives away. Shaved ice, fruit stand, small market across the street. All without the noise, traffic, sirens, and craziness of Waikiki. Also way better beaches on west and north shores than Waikiki, without the crowds. Construction was occurring but didn't really bother us since we were usually gone during the day. Also if you like turtles, we saw turtles every day. Swam with them and they often lie on the beach for night. Can see 1 or 2 lying on beach from balcony sometimes. Went for a beach walk one evening after dark and saw 10 turtles sleeping on the beach.
Check in was easy, great views, beach gear ready to use, neighbors all really friendly, great property. This was our 5th time in Hawaii, and the East side is our favorite area.

Renting was easy....but not everything was disclosed regarding construction. Noise went on all day. Heard it in our room and also at beach. Parking very limited. Elevators used by construction workers. Had to wait a long time for it. Only one of the two elevator working. Was told that construction work would be finished in August. Today is Nov. 11th and work still going on. Would love to come back but only after all construction work is finished. Room was very nice. View was fantastic and saw many turtles on the beach.Our experience was not as we had hoped for though.

Construction noises interrupted our last day. The description online stated the construction would be completed August 2022, and it is the end of Sept which was disappointing. Also, there was no mention of no air conditioning. The condo itself was lovely, clean and a contact person was available and communicated in a speedy manner. The view was breathtaking and the swimming/ snorkeling & turtle viewing was spectacular!

It was easy to find. You have a wonderful sunrise view of the beach every morning. There’s a security guard on site. Nice breeze throughout the condo and comfortable bed! We saw a sea turtle the first day! It was calm, relaxing and quiet! There is some construction during the week but it was still pretty quiet in the condo and on the beach. Still plenty of parking despite the construction as well. Highly recommend!

Our vacation got off to a rocky start because half our party couldn't come at the last minute, so it ended up just being my daughter and I. The little condo was perfect for the two of us. It had all the amenities we needed, plus all the beach gear we could ever want! While the construction was a bit off putting, it's nice to know they are making upgrades to the property. The location was centered nicely between Waikiki and the more bustling side of North Shore, so we could enjoy the best of both worlds. DEFINITELY rent a car if you're planning on staying at this location, you couldn't get around otherwise, nothing is walking distance, except the beautiful private beach which awarded us a perfect view of the sunrise every morning.

We stayed a long weekend to have an experience closer to the North Shore. View from balcony so nice. We did not cook since it was a short stay, but kitchen was very nice had we stayed longer.

Owner (or manager) Barbara was responsive to my questions. Many condiments and spices were left in the unit, so suggest checking there first before shopping. Nearby grocery stores include the medium size Tamara's Market, which has a great deli, and Foodland further north in Laie. This side of the island is very green with many lovely oceanside parks along the way.

Our scheduled week to stay in this unit was interrupted by a large building repair. Instead of canceling our week at the last minute the owner bent over backwards to make it work for us. We loved the location and the beach and the apartment is well taken care of and the kitchen is well stocked. You couldn’t have a nicer owner to work with. I highly recommend it.

Construction disaster
Initially this property was exactly what we were looking for. The exterior had some construction which we were aware of and expecting. The owner communicated with us as soon as she knew there was going to The construction in our unit also. However do you notice was short enough that there was no way we could have found different accommodations for the 10 days we were going to be there However, once we got there, the construction was even worse than the homeowner had anticipated. There was no water available 8/10 days from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Because of the short notice we had no other options for

Our scheduled week to stay in this unit was interrupted by a large building repair. Instead of canceling our week at the last minute the owner bent over backwards to make it work for us. We loved the location and the beach and the apartment is well taken care of and the kitchen is well stocked. You couldn’t have a nicer owner to work with. I highly recommend it.

The condo unit was perfect the king bed was very comfortable and the living room had a pull out sofa bed as well as a long bench(wider than a regular bench) with cushions on it where both my kids fell asleep on different nights. There is a coupel extra comforters and blankets and sheets and pillows for the livng room. This condo is currently getting some renovations so ther is a little bit o construction going on, and the city is doing a water project. the condo next to us was getting remodeled when we were there but they only worked m-f and didnt start until after 8 and seemed to be gone before 5 so not a big deal at all for us. This location is about 45min - hr from airport depending on traffic. if you want a busy night life with tons of people and restaurants this is not or you. the beach was beauitiful and super quite there were days we were the only ones out there. This side of the island does get more rain so it rained everyday at some point, usually for 15 min or so then it would pass. Id highly recommend getting to the condo first and seeing wht you need as i stopped at walmart first and bought condiments only to find some were already there. there may be instant oatmeal, ranch mayo mustard, cream cheese, butter etc. there are also spices. there is a tamaras market longs (cvs) drugstore with grocery items and a food land all within a few miles the only resturants is Pounders at the polynesian ultural center and subway, and taco bell and dominos in Hau'ula i believe which is 3 miles or so but there are PLENATY of places to eat, tons of food trucks and very small walk up take out places. the Korean bbq place was highly recommended but it was not open when we were there. Milk is high, $9.99 at Longs, may have been cheaper at Tameras or food land. we didnt need it i just noticed this. Soda is high a 1.5 litter of coke was $4:29. Id recommend getting food type items in honolulu before you head out to the east side. Eggs are about $5 per dozen which doesnt seem to make sense to me as ther are chicken farms around and tons of chickens running around. there is a place north on Kamehameha highway that has farm fresh eggs selling direct to public. there are a lot of beach type toys and a couple beach chairs in the closet. one chair appeared to be broken but after looking at it closely the arm just comes off but you can ut in back into place. Hope all this helps!!

We loved our stay at Barbara’s place. The views were beautiful and it was nice to be out of the way of the business of Waikiki. The condo was very clean and accommodating. Some work was being done on the building so it was a little noisy during the last day of our stay. Barb was great to work with and even helped us out by lending us a couple of boogie boards! We loves being right by the ocean. Overall a great place for families.
