Picked this cottage because of location directly on the beach and positive recommendations. Property as described, clean, slept four comfortably and nearly everything provided. OTA TV only but Roku worked great. Good wifi.Was warned about steps so did not bring any suitcases but backpacks and lightweight duffle bags. Brought bottled water but not needed as Culligan filter on faucet. I have balance issues but managed the steps. They had another handrail placed to assist me the day after we arrived. Susan and Erika were both very helpful and pleasant. Several reasonably priced restaurants and pubs within 8-10 minute drive and not much traffic. We will plan to return next if possible. Strongly recommend if able to climb several steps.

Loved our stay… the warning on steps is accurate! We were fine but could be issue for some. We had a short stay so steps were not a huge issue . They could be more lit up at night. The cottage was quaint,super clean and comfortable. We were probably off season , had the beach and the dunes to ourselves!

It's very quiet and private compared to the busy section of beach down about a 1/4 mile dedicated to the national park. In May of 2022 the beach is fairly wide - nothing like the high tide they had back in 2020 so fear not. Sunsets are fantastic. The guest hosts are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and well maintained - no complaints about our visit at all and will make it a point to return in the future.

Susan is great and easy to communicate with. Cell service is spotty but who cares for relaxing for a few days. The oven is tricky and may have been user error. Loved the location. It's a fabulous getaway for staying right in the beach. You really could just stay there and not leave, but the proximity to the national and state parks makes it so you want to explore nature. Technically you can walk along the lake shore to get into the state park. We drove into Chesterton for coffee one day and then explored other sights by car. The rental is cozy and clean and perfect for two adults and two young kids. I loved that the kids could play on the beach and I could sit and relac or make meals and still watch them. Beautiful lake and sunset views. Definitely want to stay here again.

We had an absolute blast at this location! We visited in early March so obviously not beach weather but it was really cool to be right on the lake. The house was perfect for what we needed. We spent a day hiking at the Dunes state park, which was only about 5 minutes away. Chesterton IN is nearby and had some great restaurants/breweries/taprooms. We really enjoyed this trip and would definitely book here again!

The place was very clean! Especially considering all the sand around. Had everything we needed and didn't have to leave if we didn't want to. Great view of the lake from kitchen and living room. Susan was prompt on answering any questions we had. The extras we loved was the provided firewood, access to kayak, paddle board, and Lilly pad. Although it was too chilly to get in water during our stay. Highly recommend. I'm positive we'll be back next year.

Everything was perfect! Exactly what we were looking for… beach, sunset, beautiful lake! We found everything we needed in the cottage. It was very clean, comfortable, quiet. Only downside — the steep steps/hill between car and cottage. For someone with bad knees (like me) this could be a real problem, but I just kept my trips to a minimum and took it slowly. We loved it here and hope to book it again next year.

Magnificent view, fun on the beach
Beach fun in Indiana! This beach house is right on Lake Michigan. You have to navigate many stairs to get there but it is so worth it! The house is small but comfortable. The views and breezes are wonderful. We also enjoyed hiking the dunes at Indiana Dunes State Park next door and the Indiana Dunes National Park nearby. Chicago is a train ride away. We had a wonderful time!

My sister and I got my parents a 2 night Christmas present at this cottage. Our folks loved the lake view and clean beach so much they never left for even a restaurant. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need.

We reserved this cottage wanting to have a winter experience right on the shoreline of Lake Michigan.The property was quite clean, nicely furnished. and exactly as advertised. Our hosts were welcoming, very focused on our health regarding Covid, and very hospitable. Our stay was exactly what we were looking for!

New Year’s Eve getaway
Everything was just as I saw online. Susan was very sweet even offering to help us carry our baggage down to the cottage. Snow and cold weather was actually a positive for a very relaxing do nothing getaway. Cottage had everything we needed to bring our own food and cook. We will absolutely be back. A getaway at the lake
This property, a 2nd floor apartment has windows nearly 180 straight out looking out at Lake Michigan. It's a diamond of northern Indiana, simple but adequate.
The only drawback is the steps it takes from the top of a dune parking area to the house.

Fabulous location right on Lake Michigan
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We really loved this spot. We had warm weather for late September and were able to leave the windows open at night and hear the sound of the waves washing onto shore. The living room windows give you a panoramic view which is fantastic. The furnishings are simple but comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting on the small deck with our morning coffee. Susan is super nice and gave us good information about the area. You can walk the beach into the state park. Wifi is a little spotty. My only suggestion is for a few additional items in the kitchen. The larger pans didn't have lids, and a couple of larger knives would be nice. We brought our own cooking oil, but that's something I always appreciate having at a rental place because it's easy to forget about that when shopping.

Amazing view
We were looking for a refreshing weekend away, and this property definitely enabled that. While we could hear the downstairs neighbors, overwhelmingly we enjoyed the relaxing crashing of the waves especially coupled with the incredible view of the lake. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen had just enough to get us through the weekend. It was an easy walk down the beach to the state park. Susan was quick to bring down dish soap when I texted her about it. Overall, it was a nice location for a quick weekend away.

Fantastic location!
We wanted to a place to stay on the water where we could just relax and were lucky enough to find this gem! The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We appreciated having the kayaks at our disposal as we used them multiple times. The beds were super comfy, and we slept so well with the windows open, listening to the waves. This is NOT a place for anyone with accessibility issues - the walk down from parking is equivalent to about three flights of stairs, then up one flight into the cottage. We didn't mind, but should be noted in case it is an issue. Laundry facilities were next door and very convenient as well. Ericka and Susan were very responsive and helpful. Bottom line, I will definitely come back here!
