Views are perfect from the condo. Great location, nice walk to the busy downtown area which was perfect for our family. Condo is nice size for everyone to have their own space. The TV didn’t work and when it did it was a pain to stream. We didn’t mind since it made us unplug, especially the kids. Would stay here again for the location and views.

Absolutely fantastic condo and property for a Tamarindo vacation. Willy, Justin and the property owner (Syd) are incredible - they communicated well, answered all questions, were responsive quickly throughout the trip, and gave great advice on local activities. Check-in was easy and Willy arranged for airport transportation and assisted with groceries, surf board rentals, beach towels, etc. The condo itself is beautiful - plenty of space for multiple adults, or in our case 2 adults and 3 teenagers, where everyone had their own space, bathroom/shower. Great location, easy to walk or use a golf cart to get into Tamarindo proper. We would absolutely stay there again!

Property was great. Close enough to town but far enough to be able to enjoy some quiet time. Views were amazing. Owner and staff were very responsive and able to help with any concerns. Property was well appointed and we had everything to feel at home for our entire stay. Will definitely be back!

Our stay in Langosta was simply amazing! We are so grateful to Syd. Our family was initially staying at a different property. We had significant issues that made it unable for us to stay there and we began frantically looking for somewhere new to stay. We discovered this beautiful property with amazing views, and it was such a blessing. The owner went out of his way to get the property ready the same day for us, despite the fact that it was Easter Sunday. Once we arrived, we were immediately greeted with friendliness and kindness, and felt like we were in our home away from home. Willy also went out of his way to assist us in acquiring a golf cart for our stay. The property is beautiful! The location is perfect! You could not ask for more in a vacation property! If you have the opportunity, I would definitely stay here. Our family will definitely return the next time we vacation in Costa Rica. Thank you again so much Syd, David, Willy, and everyone who saved our vacation and made it one we will never forget.

As a condo owner on the coast in the USA I understand what it takes to make everything come together for an enjoyable experience and I can say without a doubt that is exactly what we had with our stay. The condo was first class and the concierge (Willy) was fantastic. From the time we arrived in Costa Rica until we departed Willy took care of all of our needs and allowed us to simply enjoy our vacation without worrying about the logistics. The pictures do not do this condo justice as it's even more beautiful in person. Thank you Syd and Lynne, we are jealous of what you have.

This condo in Playa Langosta was the perfect base for our time in Tamarindo. The condo was huge and had amazing views from every terrace. The beds were great, the kitchen was perfectly equipped and the beds were comfortable. The security was great for peace of mind and Justin was fantastic in greeting us and getting us settled. We had a 12 and 15 year old and it was great to have the space and that each bedroom had an ensuite. We will definitely return to this condo when we return to Tamarindo.

Everything is exactly like the pictures. You'll most likely want to rent a golf cart for traveling into and around town makes it a lot easier. Very clean place and they will also come and clean if you are there for an extended stay (like a week or more). Staff very nice and even if they don't speak english they will pull google translate out to help you. Highly recommend will stay again.

Wow! This was wonderful 3bdrm, 2fl well appointed condo just a short 15-20 minute walk to Tamarindo. It was perfect for our family of 5. The beach front was really cool for exploring during low tide. Starfish, turtles, crabs, etc could be found among the rocks. High tide took up most of the beach and there were spots to wade in the water. It was a nice walk to/from Tamarindo during low tide. The condo had everything we needed and we felt very safe with security gates both at the front and back of the property. I was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new Weber grill on the balcony, which worked great. The grocery store was no more than a 150yds away and had most essential items. The pizza place right outside the building was very good. Only two things I'd mention for potential renters. First, the unit direct next door was being remodeled and there was heavy demo/construction from 8am-5pm, M-F. Think jackhammers, saws/power tools, sledge hammers, etc. We weren't in the room much during the day, but it took away from the otherwise relaxing experience. Understandably this is outside of the owners control, however there was no notice provided ahead of arrival. Thankfully our kids are older, but this could have been a problem for families with younger children that nap. Second, there is no elevator. If someone in your party has difficulty with stairs, this could be an issue. Again, not a problem for us but something to note.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would love to return sometime!

Stay at Horizontes Del Mar
Overall the property is lovely. A few things need to be upgraded and placement of some additional fans would be a welcome addition.
The communication with the property managers was not as expected. We arrived after the office closed but no one reached out to us to give us an overview of the property or explain how certain things worked in the condo. It was only after we contacted them because certain things were not functioning that they came over. Additionally, the cleaning service did not come until the day before we were leaving as opposed to mid week which did not really make much sense.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay and the location was great—-close enough to Tamarindo but far enough away from the noise.

Blissful getaway with no hassle
We really needed a break. We were so delighted with this property. Clean and open, with high ceilings, all bedrooms have full ensuite, 2 bedrooms have access to deck. Both upper and lower decks have comfortable seating which is protected from rain if it happens. We can hear the ocean from our bed. The pool is lovely and was hardly used by anyone but us. Quiet secure compound 5 minute drive from busy beach town of tamarindo. Can rent golf cart to get around, or walk the beach. We rented a car but parking in town can be tricky. Lovely nearby restaurants to watch the sunsets, and we barbecued on the deck which was perfect. Condo Service was excellent, I emailed Elena a dozen times with various requests, and she was always helpful and prompt. She booked our excursions (national park, ziplining, catamaran with snorkeling). I loved this property and will definitely be back to sit on the deck again with my book and a glass of wine.

Great Condo/Great Location
We had a wonderful stay. The property was well maintained and quiet. The condo had all the comforts of home, plenty of room for 5 of us. We met some of the full time residents and long term renters who were all friendly. The view of the sunsets were unmatched. Absolutely gorgeous. We highly recommend staying in Syd's condo. One day we will visit Playa Langosta/Tamarindo again and stay in this lovely condo.

We had a fantastic time at the condo. We picked this condo because we wanted to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the waves rolling in. This is exactly what we got and we spent many happy hours enjoying the views. We liked being away from the bustle of Tamarindo yet close enough to walk or take a short car ride in for restaurants and other activities. The condo complex is small and quiet and the pool is a pleasure. The condo had everything we needed for a great vacation.

Top location
Syds condo has a top location, we have stayed in other condos in the building and other buildings in the area since langosta is our favorite beach and this one has the best unobstructed view by far. I recommend you get up and see the sunrise from the top balcony, out of this world. The bed linens are top quality which for me is very important to get a good sleep. We saw a boa eat a little raccoon right in front of the pool which was very impressive. The building it self is a bit old so it requires some mantainance, we had a couple of issues with the door and wifi, Syd was always responsive and send the property manager employees. Our family agreed we would stay here again

Wonderful location in beach paradise!
This property met our expectations to a T and then some! There were no surprises and we felt very at home in this beautiful condo. The accommodations were excellent and the views were even better! Like we saw in many other posts - the sunsets were amazing right from the spacious balcony... or from the beach just a few steps away! Our family loved the location just outside of the bustling activity of Tamarindo... but still close enough to enjoy all the great restaurants and shops. The owners were exceptional leading up to our stay providing lots of valuable recommendations and guidance when requested. We felt very safe the entire time. We would most definitely stay here again - and hope we get that opportunity again soon!

Somewhere In Paradise
The unit is very functional and very clean! The kitchen is well stocked for virtually every need. It was the perfect oasis for our three couples as we were being absorbed into the beauty of Costa Rica.
The 180 degree views of the ocean with its mesmerizing sound of oncoming waves was a great backdrop to the spectacular nightly sunsets. The community pool provided heavenly relief from the warm tropical air.
The location was the right mix between having a tranquil space while still being close to the many great restaurants and shops of Tamarindo. The ever changing scenery while walking into town along the beach was breathtaking! We were never in need of a car since taxis were readily available.
Overall a great vacation with great memories!

Perfect beach location, away from crowds and beach solicitation. A beautiful view every morning, MAGICAL SUNSETS and refreshing pool on the property, to cool off at days end.
The condo is well appointed with everything you need for a wonderful stay.
Kitchen fully stocked to prepare meals if you choose.
Beach chairs, towels, boogie boards are supplied as well.
The location is perfect.... a nice mile walk into the town center of Tamarindo, but less then a block from a mini grocery, yummy pizza and a fun outdoor bar/restaurant.
Prompt and friendly communication from owners and management!
All bedrooms have their own full baths, nice beds and convenient washer/ dryer in the unit!!

Nice villa, bad experience.
Five of us arrived late Saturday night, doorman handed us an envelope with door code and some basic instructions. Those instructions suggested we use the safe for our valuables. However we were not provided the key to the safe, so we had to improvise hiding some things.
We spent Sunday on the property and then out to a local sports bar to watch NFL game and have dinner. When we returned to the villa that night, my wife took off her nice gold neckless and put it in her makeup bag along with about $25.
At 8:15am the next morning, we awoke to all sorts of noise. Apparently the maid let herself in and was making a racket, opening bedroom doors, etc, presumably I guess to wake us up.
We had no idea she was scheduled, it was a very uncomfortable situation, and in our haste to get dressed and get out, my wife neglected to hide her neckless. We retuned that afternoon to find the neckless and cash missing.
Of course we contacted the property manager to cancel all future cleanings and asked that they question the maid named Cindy.
After a series of confusing emails, we were told that maids were often the first to be blamed for theft, but understood they would loose their job if caught.
We were offered $100 for our inconvenience, which we suggested they use instead to pay for a lie decorator test.
We have used VRBO over a dozen times, in many different countries, and never had any problem. But this is also the only villa we have ever stayed in with a door code and not a key.
It is unfortunate that this is how we will remember our first (and likely only) trip to Costa Rica.
