Either you are the winter or summer person, this place is perfect to enjoy all the benefits of the Swiss Mountain World. The large apartment is perfect for people from all over the world and I would like to encourage everybody to visit Grindelwald and its great atmosphere. The 4.5 room apartment is suitable for 1 or 2 families with kids of every age (On request we will provide a baby bed and a child seat for free), as well as up to 4 couples or 8 friends who want to have a beautiful place to stay.
You will have access to a ski room in which you can store your skis, snowboard, bike, stroller, and so on.
Since we do own a second apartment in the same house you may see us around. If not, no worries I am always available by phone or e-mail if you have any questions or if you need some advice concerning your activities or places to eat and so on. Please feel free to ask me.
Since my family and I also use the apartment for personal use, we kindly ask you to treat everything as if it were your personal apartment.
If you need additional firewood please feel free to ask me in advance and we will provide some for a small additional charge.
Due to the local law, you will be asked while booking to pay an additional charge which is CHF 7.- per person and night ("Kurtaxe"). You have to pay this charge in any accommodation in Grindelwald and I have to hand over this money to the local tourism department.
The new train station "Grindelwald Terminal" is just a 3 to 5 minutes walk away from our apartment. From there you have a direct connection every 20 minutes to Interlaken and the Jungfrau Joch. You can reach the Grindelwald village center with the train as well. You could also walk for 20 minutes or take the bus from the bus stop "Rothenegg" which is just a 5 minutes walk away from the apartment. Of course from the train station you also have direct access to the new "Grindelwald Terminal" with the new gondolas which will bring you up on to the "Männlichen" or "Eigergletscher" for skiing as well as for in sommer to the great hiking trails. It is also the fastest way up to the Jungfrau Joch.

Awesome apartment below Mt Eiger right next to Grindelwald Terminal. With all the amenities and comforts like your own home with car parking which can house 10. What is missing is mirrors in the bedrooms and supplies for those who are staying long. Coffee was there for 2 days.

I came to Grindelwald with my husband and 5 siblings (all in our 50’s and 60’s) Lukas’s home was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The best part of the home was the incredible view looking out over the mountains and watching the gondolas carry people up and down the mountain. It was also a short walk to the train station, with a little grocery store. Just remember, if you arrive into town by train, make sure to get off at the Grindelwald “Terminal” station, which comes just before the “Grindelwald” station, or you’ll have a long walk down hill to the apartment with your luggage! We all had a great stay- would definitely recommend!

Great location with an amazing view , very clean place . There are also board games in the house . Host is easy to communicate to and very responsive . Towels provided were rough and thin but otherwise great place . Would stay there again

This chalet was perfect! It was clean, well appointed, in a great location, and had amazing views!! Working with Lukas to rent his family's chalet was so easy and simple. The home has everything you need. It's conveniently located a short drive from the town center, but could walk to town in 25 minutes or so (with views the entire way). The chalet is right at the train station so you could also hop on the train for a quick ride up to Grindelwald stop (no noise is minimal so do not let that deter you).. The location to the train station (Terminal) is key to everything....they have a private walkway from the chalet to the train station so you save yourself a 10 minute walk going all the way around. You can be on the train to town or to Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, etc. in minutes. You can also use it as a shortcut into the terminal which has a small grocery store (with wine/beer) as well as access to the tram to Jungfraujoch. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 floors with a living room, dining room, kitchen, sitting room and wrap around deck. 2 parking spots, washing/dryer. HIGHLY recommend this chalet as your home-away-from home while visiting the Jungfrau region (Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, etc).

Easy check in. Great views. Wish we had communicated better about charging my EV in the garage and about the incorrect lock codes. Both could have been avoided.

Traumurlaub
Vielen herzlichen Dank. Wir hatten eine superschöne Woche bei Kaiserwetter. In der Fewo war alles da. Was man so braucht auch Gewürze. Der Coopladen ist ja nicht weit. Auch die perfekte Abwicklung war OK. Schöne Sache mit den Schlüsselboxen. Da wir nicht immer zusammen waren. Alles Perfekt. Werden es weiterempfehlen! Alles Gute für euch.

Super Wohnung und Lage
Alles verlief ohne Komplikationen. Sehr beeindruckend ist die Lage und Nähe zur Gondelbahn "Grindelwald-Männlichen". Ist in einigen Minuten fussläufig zu erreichen. Die Wohnung ist sehr komfortabel und der Blick zum Eiger ist überwältigen.

Perfect place for our family group!
Location here was the stellar aspect of this property. Views of the Eiger from our balcony were spectacular! The chalet is beautifully built and comfortable as well as very clean and well stocked. We were traveling with a group of eight adults - three couples had cozy and comfortable bedrooms. One couple slept in the loft and said that the bed there was not very comfortable.
Overall, we would highly recommend this property!

Lovely property, but nearby construction in summer 2019
We were a group of two families made up of four adults and four children. The property met our needs very well. There are three bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the loft/galley.
The property was incredibly clean. I am very particular and was pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was. The kitchen had everything we needed to do some light cooking and meal prep. The bathrooms were very nice, with two showers and a bathtub. A bonus for this family with young kids was the washer and dyer. The beds were just OK - quite firm inner spring mattresses.
The location is convenient, only about a 10-15 minute walk to the center of Grindelwald. It is directly next to the train tracks, so when trains pass by it can be quite loud. We did not hear any trains running between 11pm-5am, though, so it didn't bother us too much during the night, but we are early risers.
The most bothersome issue was that there was construction going on immediately behind the property. As another reviewer mentioned, there are a few large cranes which are in the view out over the Eiger. This didn't really bother us as the view is still spectacular and we weren't at home during the day to hear the construction noise there. However, it appears as though a new train station is being built directly behind the house and workers arrived at 8pm one evening, set up lights and worked through the night hammering and drilling. We were unable to get a good night's sleep. They arrived the following night but left due to a thunderstorm. If you plan to stay in the property during summer 2019, check other reviews or ask the landlord about complaints. He was very responsive and said he was told crews would not work overnight, so was planning to investigate.
Overall, I would recommend the property, especially for groups or larger families with kids. It is a lovely, modern, well appointed and clean property. The construction work was the only drawback.

However less than an hour after checking out, we were contacted via email by the “owner”, who wasted no time in falsely accusing my family of having more people in the apartment than we actually did (??), as well as notifying us that we would have to pay more for cleaning, despite having already paid a substantial cleaning fee as part of the reservation! As someone who travels more than 100,000 miles a year, always without incident, I won’t be returning to this property, and that’s very unfortunate!!
