The pictures of the condo featuring island decor are exactly what you get including the beautiful water view from the lanai. The lanai also provided the perfect place for eating breakfast. There is plenty of space for 4 adults. Even though we ate out most of the time, we did use the coffee maker, toaster, microwave and refrigerator -- all worked well. The beach umbrella, beach chairs, and small cooler bag were definitely handy for our stay. The only negative is that sometimes you could hear the neighbors above the condo walking around.

Stayed in 3601 a few times. Very good unit with good beds and great view of bay. All things in working order. Could use some new towels and kitchen things. Just needs an upgrade in those areas.

The condo is in excellent condition, modest but well-kept. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots, pans, silverware etc. The owner responded immediately to an issue with the TV. We always stay at Kanaloa because the whole resort is quiet (hard to believe it has 167 units), beautifully maintained, it's greener than the coast N of Kona, staff are friendly, supermarket just up the street, Farmer's Market every Weds (at Outrigger) and Saturday (at shopping center)... just The Best. This unit is a great reflection of that excellence and we had a lovely time there. Now, if they'd just cut down the 2 palm trees down by the water's edge so that the view across the bay were better... but that's a trivial issue.

Everything we'd hoped for after reading prior glowing reviews: a well appointed, spotlessly clean condo, with clear instructions for pool access, parking, etc. Superb views from the lanai, day or night, including surfers, impressive wave action, nighttime manta ray tour boat lights and activity, etc. Great waterside hikes in both directions. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, outdoor chairs and snorkel equipment. 3 pools to choose from, none crowded. A real winner!

Very nice condo. We really enjoyed eating our meals on the secluded deck. Views of the cove and sunrise over the hill were spectacular. Master bedroom was comfortable with a large closet and shower. Plenty of hangers were supplied. Walking distance to the shopping center and restaurants. Kitchen had all necessary appliances. The cove is just a short walk away and has very good snorkeling. We saw many fish, I even saw a large shark. Nice selection of movies, books, games and beach supplies.

We had a wonderful stay for 6 nights in #3601 in mid August. The unit is spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything was very clean and in working order. The view from the lanai is amazing! Our favorite spot for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! The kitchen was well equipped, and it was nice to have beach chairs and towels. There was also snorkel gear available and a small cooler which we made use of. We paid extra for use of the AC and were glad that we did. We had stayed in this complex 6 years ago and were happy to see that the whole place has been well maintained. The location is very quiet and the grounds are beautiful! We especially love the oceanfront pool at sunset. We hope to return again soon!

This condo worked great for our family vacation. From the location, to the beach gear and cooler, to the space and cleanliness, we were very happy with our decision to rent this condo. We would happily return.

We stayed 18 days in unit 3601. The condo has been updated with a new washer/dryer, carpeting in the living room and bedrooms, and new tile floors. We have stayed at Kanaloa many times over the past 30 years in different condos. 3601 is by far the best. The owner has the unit well stocked with everything from toilet paper to every kitchen utensil you could possible need. The coffee pot urn developed a crack while we were there. The owner had a new one at the front door the next morning. The unit was very clean and the furniture was in good shape. The housekeeper came midterm of the visit and was thorough cleaning all the rooms. The bed was the most comfortable one I've had at Kanaloa. The view is oceanfront and bay view. We loved the bay view. There were people snorkeling every day and we snorkeled there several times. When we go back, we will contact the owner and hope the unit is available.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kanaloa Condo #3601! The Condo is beautifully furnished and is equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay in Hawaii - from beach towels, chairs and coolers to all the accoutrements in the kitchen. The view from the lanai onto the bay next door is beautiful and, unlike other units we have stayed in, the sound of the waves coming ashore is very subtle and did not disturb. We would highly recommend this unit and hope to stay there again.

Wonder peaceful setting we enjoyed it so much the weather was perfect. Thank you the condo was clean and everything we needed was there. We will return.

My husband and I did a stay-cation at this condo for our 20th wedding anniversary. We live on the Big Island and because of Covid-19 decided to cancel our trip to Oregon where we had planned to celebrate. Where this condo is situated was so peaceful and the view of the ocean amazing. We spent a lot of time on the lanai watching our locals kayak, swim, and paddle board. We went for a relaxing stay so it was nice to sit on the lanai and just listen to the birds and surf rolling in. The condo is fully equipped with everything you need in the kitchen and bathrooms. The master bedroom is huge and has a desk area my husband used for a computer Zoom meeting. There’s a good sized grocery store close by. During normal times this condo is ideally located near so many attractions, great ocean-view restaurants and fun activities. Over the years living here we have done many stay-cations and this condo was one of the very best we enjoyed. We will book it again.

This is our 4th time at Kanaloa, and our first at 3601. Definitely the best condo we've had there. Very private, the view of the little bay is wonderful - when the swells were coming in fun to see surfers and boogie boarders out there. The condo is very well appointed, and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, and a lot of condiments! We cooked almost every night and were not lacking for anything. The master bed very comfortable, the showers were great, and the A/C worked well. The pools were close and not crowded. The supermarket is right up the hill (great farmers market there on Saturday AM), snorkeling and surfing at Kahalu'u is only 5 minutes away, and paddle boards can be rented at the sheraton across Keahou bay. The only minor niggle was the lack of overhead lighting on the lanai, which made dinner a little dark despite candlelight. Otherwise, a fantastic stay and would definitely go back!

We’ve stayed at Kanaloa several times prior, but never in 3601. For sure this has been the most well appointed condo, and very private, and very quiet. The view out on the little bay from the lanai is splendid, and it’s only a short walk to snorkel there or in the larger Keauhou bay by the Sheraton, where there are also kayak and paddle board rentals. Another close by attraction is Kahalu’u bay, fantastic snorkeling and a great surf rental and lesson shop - 5 minutes by car, 20 by foot. So location is primo. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking, with almost everything you might want. And with the abundance of local fruit, produce, and fish, why eat out? There is also a farmers market Saturday 8-noon at the nearby Keauhou market 2 minutes away, with great local offerings. Beds comfortable, condo immaculate, air conditioning was functional and kept us in a good space during the hot part of the day if we came back. The only very trivial negative was the lack of overhead lighting on the lanai, which made outdoor dinners a little on the dark side - but candles and a lantern were sufficient...Definitely our best experience at Kanaloa!

Overall, this property is very adequate for a stay in Kanaloa. The location is wonderful with the view from the lanai of the cove and out to the ocean. Watching the colorful lights of the Mantaray boats every evening was a special treat. Kanaloa is close to shopping which has a trolley to Kona if one does not want to tackle the traffic. The shopping center has lovely eating places, a multi screen theater, and an Urgent Care provider to mention several. The washer/dryer in the unit was great to have, the TV in the main room was most welcomed (didn't use the TVs in the bedrooms), beds were very comfortable and furnishings maintained the Hawaiian theme. One of the reviews I had read stated that the place needed a "deep" cleaning and although it didn't stop me from staying at 3601, I would definitely agree. I have stayed at many condos on the Hawaiian Islands and have found that all had a "Welcome" bag with local fruits and/or Kona coffee, cookies etc. and one leaves a $50.00 gift card to the local grocery store. With food prices as they are in the Islands, this is a very nice touch. Condo 3601 did not have a "Welcome" bag/basket. Although, soaps, shampoos, and body lotions are provided they appear to be left over from the last guest and are from Costco. I also had to purchase dishwasher soap and kleenex as I found that the supply left was not adequate for our needs. Further, I would suggest that the cupboard with all the leftover boxed products that had been opened, but not emptied should be tossed. Many of the items left in the refrigerator, should be checked for expiration dates and duplicates removed. Since, we have been to the Big Island many times and have done all the tourist visits, we spend a lot of time at the Resort pools (lovely) and in the Condo. So many of the issues I had would probably not be an issue for guests who are on the go doing all the tourist activities available. As a final note, Condo 3601 is well priced. Mahalo and Aloha

The view from inside and on the Lani of kanaloa 3601 is absolutely beautiful. It was beautifully decorated and very spacious, comfy beds and nice bathrooms. The parking is close. We loved everything about 3601. Thank you Larry and Jeanne.

The bay was amazing from the lanai. A list of maintenance issues including mildewed towels and a mildewed washing machine, mildew/mold sound all of the sinks, fingerprints on light switches and the master bedroom never cooled off despite 2 fans & a/c, toilet in master isn’t bolted to the floor ... it just didn’t feel super clean. I sent owner a text but no reply. We were able to get in early which was great after traveling from Texas. The showers were new & nice. The lanai was everything. tc

Our family of 4 (two teen boys) stayed for 4 nights in July 2019. Good things: * The lanai was fantastic for morning coffee, meals and any down time we had. * The updated showers are ample and clean. * We were able to check in at 1pm after checking with their local contact, a very nice touch since we arrived to the island at 11am from mainland and its a long travel day! Needs improvement: * the king bed in the master sags * there is mildew/mold in the grout around the kitchen and bathroom sinks * overall the condo was dark, not sure how the photos were taken showing so much light * dishwasher soap dispenser does not open causing double washings * the washing machine liner and soap dispenser were full of mold/mildew and had a strong smell * all bath towels we received smelled musty/mildew (vrbo reviews from 2018 show this as well) * the master bedroom never cooled off despite a ceiling fan and oscillating fan running 24/7 ***** I texted these issues to the owner but did not receive a reply. ***** The community is awesome, great pools and really cool cliffs where the ocean hits. The ocean pool is awesome for sunsets.

It had everything we wanted. A nice view of a little bay, away from Alii Drive, 3 swimming pools. The unit was clean, well stocked, snorkeling equipment, beach towels etc. Easy walking distance to the Sheraton and the harbor. We walked to the Hula Kai and Fairwind for our snorkeling adventure. A short drive to Kona and the shopping there. We drove to the volcano which was worth it even though no lava was flowing. Great trip. Definitely would stay here again on our next trip to the Kona area.

Beautiful updated condo, new carpet, clean, wonderfully furnished, and faces Heeia Bay – which has become our favorite location within the Kanaloa complex. More tranquil than facing the open water yet remains open to the trade winds. The owners take pride in their condo and genuinely care about the quality of their guest’s stay. This will be the first place we look when booking our next trip to Kona.

This condo is great for many reasons, location, view, large floor plan, peacefulness. Our second time there and will be back. Pools are wonderful, the one closest to condo was perfect with hardly anyone ever there. New shower in master, both baths are large. Lanai is our spot to watch the ocean and boat activity nightly.
