We needed time away from all the separation that several busy schedules bring, and this island fit the bill. No where to be but the beach! The rooms were just the right size, we had all we needed, and could enjoy the beach just steps away or a stormy day indoors. Our favorite space (besides the sand!) were the back decks. Best place to watch the dolphins each morning.

I took my wife, two young kids and parents to Christina's place on St. George Island. As you can imagine, there are many homes to select from in that long row but it truly is the best. I looked at almost every rental on that row of homes in advance of selecting Christina's and no one can compare. From the Trex decking, to the modern upgrades, double fans in every room. It was an exceptional stay and we plan to return once again.

We absolutely loved our time on St. George Island! We have taken several beach vacations and this one definitely tops our list. The location of this property is perfect - it's within walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. We loved that there were several game options available in the house and my family loved the arcade! The beach was quiet and peaceful and the views from the deck were amazing. The owner was easy to work with and responded to texts in a timely manner. We definitely hope to return to St. George and to 44 on the Shore!

We arrived at 4:00 pm for check in. We entered our phone number into the keypad and walked in to discover a ransacked property and no cleaner. At 4:30, the cleaner came back and left at 6:30, not completing the job. We were stranded with 8 people, 3 of whom have diabetes for hours with no way to unpack and refrigerate medicine. Linens were not placed on all of the bedding, dirty linens were left on the sleeper sofa and trundle, with no extra linens provided. We were short two beds the first night, having to wash the unwashed linens. The couches and chairs are filthy and stained (as mentioned in other reviews.) the downstairs area was covered in sand and gunk and the ping pong table was inoperable until my aunt spent 4 hrs deep cleaning so it could be enjoyed. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom tile work was impressive but the grout had mildew in it. Several interior doors wouldn’t lock or shut completely, not a big deal for us. The only setting on the dryer that worked was timed dry for 60 mins, not a big deal once you figure it out. Just mentioning for future renters. There were hundreds of dead bugs inside the sliding glass door. You can’t use the trundle unless you move the small dresser into the narrow hallway. The owner refunded $450 but we requested $1000 for one night and cleaning fee since we were short two beds the first night and had to clean ourselves. Our $1000 damage deposit and $450 refund will be issued on 8-11-23 per the owner.

Nicely updated beach home with a fantastic location! We have stayed on St George multiple times and always come back because of it's laid back charm and fantastic beach. We enjoyed our stay at 44 On the Shore and really appreciated the extra touches such as beach towels and a fully appointed kitchen. The beach level games were also a plus. The beds were super comfortable and we appreciated having 3 distinct bedrooms with separate baths. The communication with the property manager was excellent from check in to check out. We had a few minor maintenance issues that were quickly addressed. Overall, a great place to stay!

The property was very clean and what we expected. The week we were there, the weather was terrible, which does happen and can't be avoided. We would recommend the property to friends.

Our first family vacation to St George Island. Perfect location for pretty much everything.. groceries, Ice cream, beach store, restaurants all within walking distance from beach house. House was extremely clean and all accommodations my family were looking for. Christina was wonderful to work with. Plan to book again next year.

The property was lovely, a great spot on the beach and had a well equipped kitchen, which was important to us as we do most of our own cooking while there. It’s convenient to everything you need - groceries, restaurants and ice cream 😊. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on St. George Island and especially 44 On the Shore. The location is wonderful, close to many restaurants (all delicious). The home is both beautiful and immaculate. Christina is very responsive to all questions and anticipates most. Am looking forward to visiting again!!

The house is exactly as advertised. Well stocked (but I could not find a bottle opener) in all regards. The kitchen had a small supply of soap, tinfoil, detergent and other things. The coffee maker had all the supplies needed as well. There were eight beach towels and several beach chairs. No umbrella. We did go over to Jolly Rogers and rent some fancier chairs and a large umbrella.
The only improvement I would make to the house is to replace the cushions on the living room sofa. They are a bit tired and compared to the rest of the house surprisingly dirty.
Now that said, the house was immaculately clean. The linens, the dishes, the floors and all the outside seating we're in very good condition and clean. There are many positive things to say about this property but probably the best is it's amazing location directly on the beach and very close to town. The outside deck space was generous and well equipped with seating and table. The huge sliding door was fantastic to bring the outside, inside and unique compared to other houses in the area. The game room on the ground level was nicely equipped with a ping pong table, bag toss and a few other games.
One more very positive item of note is that the beds are exactly as advertised and incredibly comfortable.
The house is walking distance to the Blue Parrot which is only an OK restaurant and served very weak adult beverages. We spent 3 dinners at Paddy’s which had live music and great food. Plus, great service. The house is also walking distance to the Piggly Wiggly where we did all our shopping for food and beverage.
I highly recommend this house and look forward to staying there again someday. Christina is an excellent host.

As we were new visitors to St. George’s Island, our visit to 44 On the Shore was a perfect location for food, groceries, the visitors center, the Lighthouse and courts.
Christina was very gracious in responding to all our requests and was quick to remedy any minor issues that we had.
The house has everything you need for cooking and paper supplies. We did bring our own spices which worked well in our situation as with COVID there are restrictions as to what can offered by the host. However, coffee, cream, teas, sugar packets were all available and plentiful.
Beds were very comfortable and this unit is very clean with wonderful towels and bedding.
The two patios are comfortable and wonderful for anyone who just wants to relax.
We were two older couples and we navigated the steps well- a great way to get exercise on a rainy day - we only had one.
St. George has much to offer for every age and the people there was very friendly -we did learn however that the “nooseum”are fairly active so be prepared if you are prone to getting mosquito type bites.
All in all we had a wonderful visit to this island and a lovely place to just relax and enjoy the beach.

Outstanding view right on the beach. Great deck for beach, bird and dolphin watching. Very much like the open floor plan on the main level and that one of the guest rooms is on an upper floor providing privacy for all. House was very clean, no bugs and tastefully decorated! Kitchen exceptionally well-stocked with all dishes, pots, pans, coffee makers (including a Keurig), blenders, etc. Great update on ground level including outdoor games and beach toys. Super location close to lighthouse; easy walk to restaurants, grocery stores, shops. We loved it!

Games, beach equipment, everything available and functioning. Owner kind and prompt and easy to work with. Beautiful clean home, loved the comfortable beds, arcade, and cornhole!

My family and I came in town for a wedding. 44 on the shore was clean, spacious, well updated, and had many extras. My kids enjoyed playing ping pong and corn hole and the location next the swings is awesome. Also with a walkable location to several stores and local restaurants. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend this property!

The property was the perfect place for our family to stay! The house was located near the center of the island. We enjoyed renting a golf cart to travel to various areas nearby. The views from the entire house were amazing. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porches and appreciated that the outdoor furniture was comfortable. We would definitely return!

44 On the Shore is a beautifully appointed home with an amazing gulf front view. The decor and color schemes were perfect for a beach setting and the bedding was very comfortable. Access to the beach was quick and easy affording a suitable arrangement for surf fishing. In addition, the home is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.
Christina was easy to communicate with and replied promptly to an inquiry we had during our five day stay. 44 On the Shore made our first visit to St. George Island an extremely pleasurable and memorable experience. With that being said, we highly recommend 44 On the Shore and hope it will be available for booking the next time we vacation in this beautiful island location.

Easy to walk to stores and restaurants. Christina was so easy to communicate with and answered my questions promptly. This was our first time to St George Island and we plan to return!

Fantastic week at 44 on the shore!
The property was completely updated and gorgeous! The oversized sliding doors off the living room allowed uninterrupted views of the beach and the covered porch made a perfect place to get out of the sun for a few! The bathrooms were completely updated and clean! Location was great for everyone as the basketball court was a quick walk for the kids! We loved our stay and hope to be back again next year!

Week with the family
The house was very clean and equipped. Three bedrooms were comfortable and having a bathroom attached to each bedroom was wonderful. The kids took advantage of the electronic game council. Great access to the beach, stake your favorite spot early.
Donut shop just up the road had the best donuts I have ever eaten.
All the shopping on the island are easy walking distance.

Beautiful Beach Getaway!
We had a perfect week at 44 On The Shore! The property was exactly as pictured and described. This was our first time to St. George and we absolutely loved it! You can't beat the location of this house - close walking distance to the small supermarket, donut shop, ice cream shop, and couple restaurants on the island. The property was perfect for our two families of four. The deck overlooking the beach was so relaxing in the morning and the evenings. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking supplies you need. Walking straight out to the beach every morning was amazing! Overall, a wonderful stay!

Unit owner requires BOTH a $5000 damage security insurance policy (cost $99 not refundable) AND a $1000 refundable security deposit. VRBO held on to my deposit money for 8 weeks for a 4 night rental. Seems excessive.

Beautiful home - close to everything!
Home has been completely redone with new furnishings as well as a ground level deck area that is really great for little kids. House was spotless and Christina was wonderful to work with. Great house and great trip - will definitely book again!

Perfect for a family!
This property was the perfect location for our family of 5. We have young kids and the accessibility of the beach and surrounding shops/restaurants was great. We love to cook our own meals and this property had everything we needed to cook in regards to pans, bowls, utensils, etc. The accommodations were comfortable and every floor has a great view of the ocean. The best part for us was that they provided beach chairs, a cooler, boogie boards and simple beach toys. We flew to SGI, so these items were big perks for us! The beaches had really soft sand and were clean. This was our kids’ first time to the ocean and we are already planning our next trip back next year! Highly recommend this place!
