Property wad clean and beautiful. Not fancy, but had everything we needed. Caretaker wad great and Poli and Lyo were awesome as well. Poli was very promete with any questions I had or anything I needed. The beds were comfortable and clean. Property is off grid. Solar with generador, and water from cistern. The only bad thing I could say is that the hot wter was tricky to figure out in the shower but that is because we were conserving by taking camp showers. The folks before us had wasted water so we were asked to be careful. Expected with an off-grid house. The caretaker takes you to town at 11 am and picks you up at 2pm every day. If you want to go at different times, Poli has water taxi contactfor you. It cost us about 20 bucks for 4 of us the one day we decided to stay in town later. All in all, if you are looking for tradicional luxury with long hot showers and over the top pampering, this place is not for you. But if you are looking for relaxing family or friend time with snorking right outside and beautiful sunset views like we were, this was perfect for us and we can't wait to go back! An amazing experience! A great place to get away to relax. Ernesto the boat captain and house maintainer was so polite and Poli was wonderful. She ensured that we had a taxi waiting for us when we left and took care of everything. The house is clean and a great way to get away into the woods without being in the woods. There were cute geckos at night and we had no issues with bugs. An absolutely once in a lifetime experience with great views.

The house was a lovely and peaceful getaway! Recommended although I did get a TON of bug bites at night so plan accordingly.

My wife and I are in our 70s we’re looking for peace. Well we found it in spades. The snorkeling was amazing as well as the viewing though the glass floor absolutely amazing. The hosts were there at every request welcoming and warm Wish we could stay forever!!!! Thank you creating such a beautiful space

We stayed here for 3 days in early August. The location is fantastic and we had a great time. Poli and her husband are very helpful and nice. Note that there are other similar houses on the water in the neighborhood (they have been built in recent time). During our stay, most of the other houses were empty, but in high season you would probably hear sounds from the other houses. Also note that if you like airconditioning, this is not your place. During our stay, there was hardly any wind, so the heat stays inside during the night. We did not have any issues with mosquitoes. Small point of improvement is that the kitchen equipment was a bit sparse, but Poli was helpful with some small additions. It was a unique experience for sure!

Poli was an incredibly helpful and thoughtful host. Ernesto was a great caretaker of the property. It was a highlight of our trip to stay in the blue house. We appreciated the daily boat ride into town. It was a peaceful and regenerative stay. Note: the green Off is essential to protect yourself from no se ums.

I could not be happier with our stay in Bocas del Toro! If you are considering this home, BOOK IT! You cannot fathom the beauty you will be surrounded by. The water is crystal clear & the sea life phenomenal. We had an almost daily visit from a stingray. The snorkeling is outstanding! Be aware that there is no AC & geckos (which I’m terrified of) are aplenty. Also, you will need bug spray with deet and citronella of some sort. We had regular cutter and were eaten alive. Make sure you shop for the week and plan on staying there. The daily offered boat ride into town is helpful, but why would you want to leave?!? Look forward to going back in the future!

Amazing house on the water. This was an absolutely wonderful experience, felt like the place was ours for a few days! The host is so accommodating and helpful, offers a trip to the town daily and other amenities if you request. You will have to cook your own meals but that was perfect for us, they have everything you need to get it done!!

This property will take your breath away! It’s a hike sometimes to get to Bocos with planes and boat taxis but it is well worth it! As soon as we arrived at the house we were in awe of its beauty. Water all around and it’s completely serene. Poli is an amazing host as well as her husband and Juan. They helped us with any questions we had before, during and after our stay and made sure we were accommodated as best as possible! Snorkle gear is included as well as kayaks, make sure you use it or you’re missing out! Jump from the front dock and you’ll see plenty of fish, sting rays and whatever else is out there at the time. Bathing suits and bug spray are your necessities here. You’re in for an amazing trip when you book this one, I promise!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Poli and Lyo’s place for almost ten days. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We can’t say enough good things about Poli, Lyo, or their property. Poli and Lyo made our trip! Poli is so extremely helpful. A storm came through and washed out one of the main roads. We would have been stuck in Bocas if Poli hadn’t helped us figure out how to get to our next destination. Poli and Lyo are also so hospitable and friendly! We might come back to Bocas just to hangout with them! If you don’t stay at Poli and Lyo’s property in Bocas you’ve definitely missed out!!

My husband and I stayed in the blue house with another couple and in the yellow house, another couple. Having both houses was very nice and provided us the opportunity to go between both. If you want to stay on Isla Colon, you couldn't pick a better spot. It's lovely and peaceful, especially compared to the bustle of Bocas Town. As with most accommodations around Bocas you need to take water taxis to get into town. Poli made sure that we had the water taxi available and prearranged for our trips to town. Where it can get challenging is finding a taxi from their dock to get around town. They are usually full and if you are a party of more than two people they seldom will stop for you. Take Poli's advice and arrange for a taxi cab in advance...or be prepared to walk. The house stays plenty cool thanks to the fans and cross breezes, so you dont really need AC. You will need bug spray. I didn't really get many bites, but our friends did. Deet is a must. Each house only has two snorkel masks provided, so if you have more than two people, you will want to arrange for more. Especially as the snorkeling off the deck is awesome!! We saw more fish than we ever did snorkeling in Hawaii. Starfish, trumpet fish and stingrays were all visible just a few feet from our deck. We took a catamaran tour and snorkeled at Dolphin Bay, which had amazing young coral. Highly recommend this as well. I did mention rustic in the title and it is. Making coffee the first morning was challenging. Make sure you stock up on groceries in town....water, ice, coffee and all food items, including paper towels. It is a bit of a journey to get into a grocery store so it's better to buy more than you think that you will need for the day. Poli will help with this as well, she provided us with grocery bags and helped us find items quickly. She was great and as was Juan, the caretaker and water taxi driver. Bottom line, the setting of our house - over the water - with amazing sunsets and snorkeling was what you would imagine a Caribbean island xperience to be.

What a amazing place, we loved loved loved it! Great snorkeling, beautiful views and sunsets. House was perfect and very well maintained. Aquatic life was amazing, we saw a nurse shark; spotted ray; sting ray; bioluminescent fish and glowing jelly fish; not to mention all the other colorful fish; I sure do miss feeding them every morning and night. Poli, Lyo and Juan were the best! they went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Our one mistake was to stay in town the second week, we should of did the two weeks at the house, next time! Thank You Poli, Lyo and Juan! looking forward to seeing you again! Dawn and Gene

First, both houses are not the same. The blue house is what they advertise most with the net that is built into the porch to look into water and the living room with clear window to look in the ocean. We got the yellow house thinking we would get the same set up. Owners should probably state that in there or if you are the renter pre plan to ask if the blue house is available. When arriving to Almirante to catch your first water taxi to Bocas be prepared to pay $8-$12 per person. If your a tourist be prepared to pay the max. Poli husband and Juan greeted us at the dock where we take a second boat to houses provided by the owners. During your stay plan to bring groceries or you will have a chance the next day to go into town for only a few hours. We didn't expect to have issues getting a cab to dock and bus we prepaid that morning to return us to dock broke down. We missed our 2pm pick up time from owners (which is complimentary) and we had to wait almost 2 hrs for a taxi to take us to our house. 11am-2pm complimentary ride is not enough time to site see, beach, grab lunch and buy groceries. Just pre plan. The house is beautiful and peaceful and Poli husband did a wonderful job explaining everything in home. You will definitely get to see plenty of fish at the dock for snorkeling. The view in master bedroom is amazing in morning and sunsets are breathtaking. The house has plenty cooking utensils and very spacious. The price nightly looks nice until all the additional fees are added on it and if you plan to add more people after payment expect to pay extra per person in cash. Not really quite sure why I had to pay extra when I already paid on my bill for additional guests when I reserved it. Overall it was nice and I must admit that Poli iwas very good at responding to you with any questions and concerns especially before your arrival. They will definitely assist in any way they can. Lovely couple.
