Nachdem der Hurrikan den meisten Fußgängerstrand ausgewaschen hat, sind wir eines der wenigen Häuser am Strand, die noch über einen eigenen Hausstrand verfügen, so dass unsere Gäste den Fußgängerstrand direkt vor dem Haus genießen können. Neue Betten (Bettdecken und Bettlaken) sind seit März 2018 für alle Betten verfügbar. Seit 2018 wird ein neuer Luftkompressor für die zentrale Klimaanlage installiert. Neuer Boden im Stall Anfang 2019. Seit April 2019 ist ein neues Wasserfiltersystem für die gesamte Wasserversorgung im Haushalt installiert. Surfside Strandwasserversorgung aus Brunnenwasser, es schmeckt normalerweise wenig salzig als normales Leitungswasser und hat eine mit Eisen angereicherte hellgelbe Farbe. Wir haben beschlossen, den Wasserfilter für die gesamte Haushaltswasserversorgung zu installieren, damit unser Hausgast das Wasser als frisches Leitungswasser trinken kann. This place has SO much potential. Best way for me to explain is a pros & cons list.
Pros:
- LOCATION! Can’t be beat. Literally step off the porch to the ocean. This made the whole trip worth it.
- Beach is very clean and smooth.
- Pool table and poker set kept us entertained every night. Big plus.
- 3 bathrooms is nice.
- Lots of cookware provided!
- Plenty of room to spread out.
- Loved that we were able to have our dogs with us.
- Obvious improvements have been made, and appreciated.
Cons:
- Furniture throughout is really not good. Mattresses are thin and metal bed frames are very creaky. Couches in living room are cheap and not comfortable for lounging. Bar stools are flimsy. One was already broken. I’m sure furniture gets used and abused in rental properties, but oof this was a struggle.
- Multiple lamps were old and broken and couldn’t be turned on.
- We struggled with internet and TV’s all week. There was an outage for a couple days that couldn’t be helped, but even after it came back on, none of the bedroom TV’s ever worked. Host wanted us to call Dish to get it fixed.
- Hot water only lasts for about 10 minutes, so we had to space out showers. It worked for 4 of us, but if you had more people that would be frustrating.
- It was tricky hauling luggage up all the steps without a handrail.
All in all, we had a good time, and the location makes the cons worth it. It’s so close to being the perfect place to stay. A few more improvements and it would be there!

As compared to other VRBO properties we’ve stayed at, I would classify the property as adequate, not luxurious. The TV in the master bedroom was not connected to the Internet so it was unusable. When I tried to read in bed, the switch on the bedside lamp was broken so I could not turn it on. The drinking water issues should have been noted in the original posting, not communicated after the reservation was made.

The view from the balcony is absolutely beautiful. The weather was nice. The walk on the beach was so relaxing. The home was comfortable. The layout of the home is spacious. The sights and sounds were what we were there for. The waves lulled us to sleep.
The only negatives at the time of our stay was the living room needs a recliner, it’s not an area that you could lounge comfortably at night when you are winding down for the night the furniture is nice but it could be more relaxing furniture.The stove burners do not heat very well it took forever to scramble eggs. There is noise that comes from the second refrigerator, but it’s more noticeable at night it is a knocking sound that comes and goes all night. The outside stairs the ones that lead to the sand needs handrails. My husband had a hip replacement so the recliner and the railing was needed. He was using a walker at the time. The hand rails needs to be up to code. The owners did put in the contract that the thermostat for summer should not be below 80 degrees and winter shouldn’t be above 60 degrees. This was not an issue do to the time of year that we were there. But in cold winter and hot Texas summers that would be a major issue for us. I do want to say to the owners we enjoyed our stay. Thank you for graciously opening it up to strangers,you never know who you might get.We did take care of your beautiful home. We were careful with your home and made special memories. Thank you so much.

My family’s n I enjoy this place. U can’t get any closed to the water then this. The beach at our door step. When it at high tide the water at the bottom of the balcony. We didn’t catch any fish but we catch a beautiful view.

Spacious house in the perfect spot!
While it could use some updates and more hand rails, the amount of rooms and bathrooms plus the ability to walk literally onto the sand and water from the deck, more than makes up for it. Host was accommodating and responsive!

This is a great place for families! We love that the property was on the beach, great for our kids. The property owner was very responsive. Will definitely go back again.

This property had the perfect location. We have rented so many beach houses, and this one by far was the best. We had so much fun for weekend. It was sad to leave. My kids had the time of their lives. We hope to rent again in the future!

could not sleep because the roofers came at 7:00 and want us to move our cars. Then they star removed the old roof and nails and shingle are everywhere. We have to leave early because of the unsafe environment. Should ask for a partial refund

The stairs to get into the house were horrible. The property manager said she knew about it and was going to fix it after we checked out. The people I said need to come out because we can't do this. The contractor told us this is so unsafe and they told her and she didn't care. They said they were glad we pressed the issue because they didn't care! I asked if we could even have $100 back. Nothing! The owner did care at all. They people to fix the stairs were their 3 hours on a day we paid for then the next day at 8am! We could not sleep in and the owener could care less!

Location was the best part of this home. The home is nice but could be better cleaned because we encountered some roaches. It is nicely decorated but definitely needs better furniture. One of the beds was broken and our guest fell through the bed when he laid down. There are bunk beds in that same room so it was no biggie I guess. Communication was great which is always a good thing. Pool table is a nice addition to the home.

Our week at Surfside was wonderful! Jennifer was wonderful and answered me very quickly. If you want a place on the water this is it. My boys loved playing in the water and digging in the sand. The deck could use a little work a couple boards are loose and the kitchen could use a couple large pots. Definitely would come back! Thanks for a great family vacation🥰

We all enjoyed the property very much walking off the bottom step onto the beach is fantastic!!! we had our vowel renewal on the upper deck it was amazing. We wanted to have it on the beach as pictures of the property shown but could not do to the tides are now to high

The furnishings were awful. We had to have 2 tv’s replaced. The shower never got fixed in the hallway bathroom. We had German cockroaches. There were bedbugs in one of the bedrooms. It was a nightmare for us. However, the owner of the property was great at answering our texts.

Had a cold spell and furnace quit working during the night. Manager was helpful. Pipes froze and management tried to help. But first few days were miserable!

The house needs improvement in the furniture. Couches were very uncomfortable. We managed to sleep 15 people. Would not recommend the up to 20! Used the rollaways since futons were miserable for sitting and sleeping!
If you want complete access to the beach I would recommend this house. We enjoyed despite extremely uncomfortable furniture!
Having 3 bathrooms was nice. But even after pipes thawed and Plummer “fixed” the hot water heater showered turned cold quickly!

The location of the house was excellent, everything was conveniently close to the house. My friends and myself take a fishing trip every year to Galveston. Surfside beach was so much better in my opinion. Convenience stores. Bait shops and restaurants were all within a couple of miles. The owner was very quick in response to my questions. Thank you Jennifer, and we'll definitely be back.

I cannot say enough about Jennifer who manage the property she always text me back she always return my calls always answered my silly questions and was so helpful all the time I truly enjoyed talking to her and I’m glad she was our manager. About the house it is old the couch definitely needs to be replaced and some painting and plumbing work needs to be done but all in all we enjoyed it a lot. We had all the room we needed and more and we did enjoy how it was right there on the beach.

If you are going for the experience not the house it’s great. Loved being on the beach.
The pictures need updated. The first level deck has been partial redone but it’s not sturdy. The kitchen was good. Needs some new pots and pans. The counter with seating has tiles falling off. It’s poor work. The seating side is falling off. The water is not drinkable at all. Bring water. Nice size bathrooms and bedrooms. The shower in one needs a new head. It looks moldy. The first room has flooring the sounds horrible. It pops and makes aweful noise. Beds were good. I’m not sure how you could fit more than 13 people even with provided fold out beds unless you sleep them in the living room area. Rooms are not big enough for more beds. Nice washer and dryer. Needs new living room furniture (bad). The fixtures and decorations needed cleaned. Dirt build up on all edges and lights. Bring all your own chairs and toys. The furnished were rusted through. The bbq in pics were no good anymore but had a charcoal bbq on deck. Like I said that what I say about I was there for the experience not the house but it needed help. Oh yes. It stayed cool in the house on cool days but the last was a hot day and the AC wasn’t keeping up.

Our 50th Anniversary family celebration was fabulous! We came from Alaska, Lubbock, and locally and we loved the location and the house was great for all of us. Everyone wants to do this again. Thanks for helping us to have a wonderful time.

You cannot beat the location of this beach house in Surfside! It is right on the beach and was perfect for everyone in our group ages 1-83. It was so nice for the younger people to be down on the beach and the older people to be able to enjoy the ocean and be involved from the deck. There were a few minor issues when we first arrived but Jennifer was easy to communicate with and sent someone to take care of things right away. We understand that with being so close to the water upkeep on certain things is difficult but the location itself makes up for it. The house could use a few updates but overall we had a wonderful time and hope to return in the future!

Our family of 15 (multi-gen) stayed a long weekend here and loved it! Jennifer was a great host and very responsive. We loved being right on the beach in a small pocket of homes a little away from the public beach access. Home was a little dated and dusty but met all our needs.
