We were thrilled that this little gem was available last minute during the week for our quick visit to the lake! House had everything we needed, was neat and tidy, had covered parking so our car wasn’t miserable to get into (July in Texas- enough said!!), and the backyard set up was perfect for dinner at sunset and campfires after dark. Watch out for ants in the grass, no and beds, just stray ants here and there but that comes with the territory- we have them all over Texas and they’re bad everywhere due to the droughts so wear shoes! Will definitely come back for a longer visit!

Very relaxing! We did a little bit of everything: laid on the beach; floated on the water; fished; tasted and purchased wine; grilled out; and most of all slept. We did not get to make s'mores because it rained. We did get a little rattled when a wooden duck crashed to the floor as we were watching TV. Other than that, very quiet!

This was the perfect get away for us this year. The kids loved the beach and we all enjoyed the paddle boat. Exploring the history of Huntsville was fascinating. This area is tucked away but has plenty to offer! Be sure to bring toiletries and possibly an extra life jacket (we only saw one). Great memories were made here!

Quaint lake cabin. Small but spacious. My family of 8 (2 infants), 4 kiddos under 6, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The beach being just yards from the back porch made it nice for us to watch them and still be close enough to let them swim in the water without fear. It’s literally like going to the beach but with fresh water. Very refreshing. The water gradually gets deeper without dropping off making it that much safer. Big thanks to the property owner John for accommodating us and making sure everything was perfect for our stay. I don’t think you could find a better spot for a better price. Fire pit and lights at night were amazing. Gated property made it feel a little more safe as well. 10/10 would recommend for family or just a couple looking to get away for a couple days.

Loved the house, kids had so much fun at this property. The fishing was great, just beware of the vultures. Plenty of entertainment!

I love property, my family and I enjoyed our stay. My kids had a blast with the paddle boat and kayaks. We also love the private beach and easy access to the lake. The neighbors are super quite and stores are within 10 minutes drive. The only think that I had a slight issue with are the dead catfishthat washed up on the beach.

Only complaint I have is that there was a lot of debris on beach. Besides that, everything was cozy and fun

This was our second time visiting the property and it was as enjoyable at the first. House was clean, well equipped, and perfect for 2 adults and 2 little kids. We played in the sand, enjoyed the paddle boat & kayak, and fished in the cove. We caught catfish and some hybrid bass. Only down side was there was a ton of pollen in the water, but nothing to fault the owners for. Overall a great stay, again.

We had the best time! The cabin is right on the lake and we enjoyed hearing the sounds of the waves, sitting outside at night and enjoying the outside lights, the pedal boat entertained us and much more! The views are just breathtaking. This trip was just what we needed! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our winter weekend staying at this cabin! All the amenities were exactly as advertised, beds were comfy, appliances and TVs were in good working order, the cabin was tidy and clean, no issues with anything regarding the stay. I suppose the only thing worth mentioning for trip planning is that the tap water has a pretty strong mineral taste, fortunately there’s a gas station within walking distance that has basic amenities so we just bought a few gallons of drinking water and were good to go! We especially enjoyed the sunrises which are easily viewed from the kitchen and upstairs balcony. The fire pit was also great, it was chilly in the high 30’s when we were there but was very cozy with a good fire! It was also easy access to explore Sam Houston National Forest (30-50 min drive depending on which trailheads). The neighborhood was quiet which really gave our stay camping/nature vibes with all the comfort of a nice updated, clean cabin. Overall was exactly what we were looking for and happy to have found such a cozy place to stay.

We had such a great time!! Clean house, everything they stated in the description was accurate. We loved the fire pit, swing, and paddle boat. Beds were comfortable. Roku worked well, good internet connection.

Perfect place to stay for a few days, if you want to get away from cities and love water/beach/kayak. Private beach is a big plus. A lot of books and movies DVDs are there to spend your time. Just a minor suggestion: A few non-stick utensils would be useful for recipes who tend to stick. Overall, a very good experience and highly recommended!

Short drive from Houston was a plus! Fantastic sunrise views! Quiet neighborhood. Grocery close by for a few things we needed. Enjoyed hiking at Lake Livingston State Park.

The property is beautiful and located right on the lake. The house was very clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

This was an excellent property for the 2 of us to relax and celebrate our 3 year anniversary. It's a very quiet neighborhood and having your own sandy beach was a definite bonus. The breeze was wonderful and listening to the waves did wonders for our relaxation. Thank you for letting us stay at your property, we had a wonderful time.

We stayed at the lake house as a family of 4 with young kids ( 4-6 yo) for a long weekend. It was a perfect stay by the lake: peaceful, quiet and beautiful! Kids loved the beach and the water, did lots of fishing . We would definitely be back!

We very much enjoyed the cabin. Recent flooding in Dallas caused a lot of debri to float down river but that is just part of life. We would definitely stay again.

We normally only bring food to grill. There was no propane so had to go get it. Left receipt at house.

If you need a relaxing vacation to recharge, this is the place to be!! We have 2 toddlers and stayed at this beautiful lakehouse for the weekend and we could not believe how happy and truly relaxed we felt. The cabin is super cute from inside with a Nautical theme (the photos do not do justice) and has pretty much everything you need, just bring food. You can also cook simple meals and coffee too. The TV upstairs even has full surround sound system. The beds were comfy and there is a guitar to play. The real fun however, is being outdoors here - swing, kayak, pedalboat, covered porch, sandy beach and the vast expanse of the lake - everything is included in it. Although the temperature was 95deg, we felt so cool with the breeze constantly blowing and kids even took an afternoon nap under the trees with the waves sound in the background. In the mornings, we did kayaking in the calm waters and watched the sunrise. So many birds, cranes and ducks to watch. By evening, the waters have rough waves, so pedalboat was safer for the kids. The night sky was so pretty with the bright twinkling stars which we do not see in the city. We also explored the Lake Livingston town and State Park (around 30min drive) one evening. We hope we can come back again to this cabin during fall season. P.S. there are lot of fire ants in the grass, so tread carefully and wear footwear.

This was the perfect spot for me to take my three kids (7, 9, 11). We loved using the kayak and exploring. There was debris as other reviews mentioned but it wasn’t a problem. Just a reminder to keep or rivers, streams and lakes clean. The kids actually made cities out of the driftwood. This was a perfect place to stay. Being the only adult it was nice to have the house so close to the water especially if one kid was ready to hang out indoors. A safe feel to the whole place. We are eager to return!
