We had such an amazing time at The Evergreen! It was absolutely beautiful inside and out, and really enjoyed being able to have some peace and quiet! Brenda had the lights on for us when we arrived and had a nice welcome note to greet us! Thank you so much for having us, we will definitely be back!

Cabin was very clean and as decribed. Location was perfect, secluded yet close to everything. Host was very helpful.

Our stay was delightful and super easy! The description online matched with what we saw and the location was very central for everything we did during our vacation.
The cabin was clean and had plenty of space. Would definitely stay here again!

This was the second trip to the Evergreen for my wife and I for her birthday. The Evergreen is the perfect cabin for us. It’s quiet and secluded. Very clean. Very relaxing. It was the perfect cozy and quiet place for us to come back to after the Bridge Day fun. And the best part was the hot tub on the back deck. It was the best way to relax and look at the trees changing to their beautiful fall colors. We can’t wait to come back!

When I realized where I was staying and have driven by this beautiful place for 67 years I was blown away. My family has always loved the main house and loved being able to stay there was so much fun. Meeting Brenda was an extra treat. This is close to my family and I took my friends to see all the local sights … the Fall colors were fabulous. If you go to the Mine Exhibit ask for Don for your tour guide, he is great and famous on Brad Paisley’s video ..lol i just wished we had got to use the fire pit but the weather wasn’t going to let that happen Hope to return soon.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get away from it all but still be close to everything! This would be my first choice if I were to come back to the area.

Brenda was super communicative and accommodating! We will definitely be booking here again! Perfect for my husbands 40th birthday weekend white water rafting with some friends. Close to everything you could need! They thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

Cute and cozy!!! Very clean and comfortable!!! The hot tub was a big bonus for us. My son ran in the Spartan race and the hot tub was very welcoming and relaxing. Thank you!!!

Great location, easy access to hiking and whatever the area offers. Cabin was very clean. However, no dishwasher or laundry facilities. Beds comfy. Fine dining was absent in the area. Best restaurant was Pies and Pints in Fayetteville. Endless Wall and Longpoint Trails great. Rail Trail in Anstead no great views, easy forward, but return deceivingly uphill. New River Gorge a new addition to our National Parks.

It was a great place to stay, plenty of room and the outdoor areas were great for hanging out, grilling, and relaxing! We had a great time!!

This cabin was the perfect getaway for our New River Gorge vacation. It was secluded, quiet, and private. The location was ideal, as we planned whitewater rafting and the NRG Bridge walk.
The cabin had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, salt, pepper, etc. The outside deck was the ideal spot for meals and evenings in the hot tub after a day of hiking & sightseeing. There was even charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill.
The only thing lacking was a washer/dryer. The hosts offer to wash, dry, and return the towels, if needed. But having a dryer in the cabin for our personal wet clothes/swimsuits & towels would be nice.
Also, the pillows are extremely fluffy. If you desire a flatter pillow, I suggest bringing your own.
My husband and I stayed in the back bedroom with the queen bed. My son stayed in the front bedroom with the queen bed. And my daughters shared the room with the two twin beds. The cabin accommodated us perfectly. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room, with linens in the corner cabinet.
A wonderful time was had by all. I highly recommend The Evergreen for your New River Gorge vacation.

Our family of 4 adults thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Evergreen! The cabin was so clean and had everything we needed to prep meals. There were plenty of towels and paper products. The beds were comfortable. We used the hot tub every evening after long days of hiking, white water rafting and zip lining. We loved sitting on the back porch to eat our meals and relax. Spent the only rainy day in Charleston which was 1 hr 15 min away. Everything else we did was close by. Highly recommend the Evergreen!

Everything was pretty nice. Brenda was very responsive and really appreciate the laundry service. Only thing I would mention is that the shower of the kitchen wasn’t working well enough to take a nice shower.

What a treat to meet Brenda as we were unloading the car to learn that the cottage is pre-Civil War and more about the 60 acres that the property sits on. Brenda was very responsive every time I reached out to her. It rained while we were there so were in the cottage more than expected, which was fine with us. The hot tub was perfect for the rainy day. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

We spent a lot of time on the beautiful, shaded back deck and at the fire pit. We loved that it was close to hiking and the northern portion of New River Gorge National Park with all of the activities available. We also appreciated that we could all go to separate areas for down time while still having family time areas.

Cute, quaint 3-bedroom, small but old cabin. The hottub was very big and relaxing and the backyard view of the trees, firepit, and pretty pond were nice. The hosts placed wildflowers in a vase as a nice touch and there was coffee and standard kitchen utensils, although the kitchen is small. There's 1 full bathroom, a half bath, and a shower in a closet. Also, it's an old house so there's 2-prong outlets everywhere

This place is exactly as listed, if not nicer, it has a lovely cabin charm. The firepit and hot tub are great features! Local hiking and scenery is amazing. The property the house sits on is beautiful so you really don't need to leave if you do not want. Pies and pints pizza was delicious. Brenda is close by but still a good enough distance for total privacy, from the back porch it feels like neighbors are miles away. The mattresses are a little stiff but I am pretty particular about my mattress so this may not bother you. Overall a very nice stay and I would stay again if I am ever in the area!

This cabin was perfect for our first trip to the area. It was clean, comfortable, and located close to lots of hiking areas and parks. The kids loved the hot tub.
The owner was super communicative and responded to all of our messages promptly. I would definitely consider staying here again the next time we find ourselves in the area.

It was a great place to stay at for the weekend, bugs weren’t bad, perfect weather, stayed cool, was a great location and was close to everything we wanted to do.

The property is lovely and relaxing. Every morning we would sit on the back porch and drink coffee making plans for the day. Deer would be walking about around dinner time. The hot tub was an added treat as we settled in for the evening. Our host Brenda gave us a lot of information on the area. She made us feel very welcomed.

The Evergreen was just what we were looking for. It had everything we needed and then some. Morning coffee and conversation on the front porch and evening relaxation watching the deer on the back porch. New River Gorge National Park is a short distance away as is Summerville Lake and the many whitewater rating outfitters. The property manager Brenda was very responsive and we only wished that we had met up with her before our last day as she probably is a fountain of information for things to do in the surrounding area.

Great location for visiting the New River Gorge. Just a few minutes to the bridge and an hour + to Sandstone Falls via scenic route. The cabin is an older building but extremely clean and well maintained for a mountain cabin. It is as pictured. Firewood is provided for the neat firepit. Kitchen is well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. No problem sleeping. The view off the deck is peaceful. Honeysuckle fragrance is in the air now. Will definitely stay there again if in the area.

We loved the cabin. We took our 18 and 19 year old grandsons white water rafting. We had stayed at the gorge last time in a cabin. It was noisy and not private. This was perfect! The boys loved the hot tub and eating meals together on the covered porch even when it rained. Everything was so clean, even the grill and fire pit. It was less then a10 minute drive to the rafting. It was perfect! We plan to bring the other grandkids back here to stay, once they are old enough to raft!!

We really enjoyed everything about our stay here. The setting was so relaxing, either sitting on the porch enjoying the pastoral view with the pond or walking through the extensive fields and woods. The frog and bird calls were great. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed fires in both the fireplace and the fire pit. There is so much to explore within 15 minutes to a half hour drive. Specifically , The New River Gorge and Babcock State Park. Just an hour and a half away are the Cranberry Glades at almost 4000 feet in elevation for an entirely different habitat. And lots more places to visit in between. We couldn’t do everything within a week. We hope to return.
