Location is excellent, facilities and grounds are nice and really nice access to the beach. Very good value for money.

Front desk / reception was quite rude and abrupt at check in. Was even worse in the morning calling several times asking us to leave the room even before the agreed check out time. Harassment.

There were a few maintenance issues which I discussed with the receptionists.

The location and the proximity to the beach was was perfect and the rooms were spacious and well kept. We enjoyed our stay in B42. The cleaners and the employees of cowrie shell are friendly and awesome. I will stay in Cowrie Shell again and again in future.

The WiFi was very poor and very slow. The food from the restaurant was awful and charging guests extra Ksh. 200 as tray fees for bringing food to the rooms was distasteful.

Location is good if you like being at the quiet end of the beach. Most staff were friendly and helpful.

Cold showers, water pressure was often down to a trickle , bed hard and lumpy, many room amenities broken or in poor state.

no breakfast or other food available at the hotel because the catering outlet was closed for refurbishment.. very restricted provision of tea bags, coffee, bottled water etc one member of reception staff was quite slow, difficult and obstructive.

Good guidance to find the location. Personnel very friendly, the room was clean and well equipped.

Room was not ready at 4:30 pm, but I was sent 2 messages alerting me to vacate the room by 9 am on the day of departure. Booking.com had informed of 10 am. Change on my cash payment was not available when checking in and not when checking out the following day at 9 am. Thus I went for breakfast to the restaurant. Out of 5 juices on the menu only orange was available - same as the evening before. Service staff were very friendly, but may need some training to gain professionality.

there were no lights in the hallway leading to the room and there was an open low window at the end of the hall.. the railings are also not child safe..
