This camp was great. The screened in porch had an amazing view of the pond. If it had been a touch warmer we would have had our dinners out on porch. But it was lovely to sit out on and watch the ducks. The kitchen had everything needed and more! Lots of dinnerware, cookware, and utensils. The property owner was very helpful. Lots of good information about the camp and area. She gave us some time to get our stuff in and get settled a bit before she visited. The location was just the right amount of remoteness and access to town and hiking opportunities. I loved feeding the ducks each day with cracked corn that was provided. A good time was had by all.

All amenities were provided above and beyond. Very clean and comfortable cabin. The covered porch was the highlight of our stay which was mere feet from the beautiful and clear lake. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

Camp Bud is everything I hoped for in a Maine vacation. Gorgeous woods, sparkling lake, cabin equipped with everything you could possibly need. The place was decorated like an LL Bean catalog. Lots of good places to eat in Ellsworth, 1/2!hour away. Acadia less than an hour’s drive. Linda and Steve were the perfect hosts. Thank you for a relaxing and fun vacation.
PS Stay two weeks and give yourself time to relax and still do all you want to do.

We had a great time staying at Camp Bud for a week. With its quiet and peaceful setting and the quaint cabin that is so well appointed for anything we could have needed, Camp Bud was the perfect home base while we vacationed in and around Acadia National Park. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at Camp Budd. My grandchildren took full advantage of everything the camp had to offer and loved feeding the ducks. Many happy memories made! Thank you Linda and Steve

I can't say enough good things about this rental. Linda and Steve (our hosts) made things so easy and were very nice. The ambiance is exactly what we were looking for. I've been staying at camps all my life and Camp Bud reminded me so much of rustic charm of my grandparents place. Comfortable and relaxed. When it comes to the practical side of things, the kitchen and cookware were well stocked and quality. We brought some cookware thinking we can't entirely rely on what comes with the camp and we couldn't have been more wrong. We didn't lack for a single bit of cookware. The kitchen was also well-stocked with seasonings and extras including a very cool smores kit. Camp Bud was comfortable for relaxing during the day or bedding down at night. The location is excellent on a nice, quiet stretch of Beech Hill Pond. The wildlife was also impressive with daily visits from the ducks, a regular parade of loons, bald eagles fishing...just spectacular. There is a great swimming area for adults and kids alike and plenty of water accessories on hand in the boathouse. Lastly, check in and check out couldn't have been easier. We would 100% come and stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Quiet area located on a narrow section of lake. Beautiful view. Gorgeous clear water. Lots of ducks. We saw loons everyday. Grill is charcoal and you need to bring your own.

The clear pond, loons, ducks, kayaks, campfires, s’mores, a Bald Eagle, and a comfortable cabin. Lobster. What else can you ask for? Great day trips to Schoodic Point and Bar Harbor and then another to Acadia, but life on the pond is a great life.

We loved our stay at Camp Bud. As a family of five we enjoyed the lake, games & dinners on the lovely porch, and the peace & serenity of the cove. Linda has just about everything you need stocked up and that makes it simple. Easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor for a day trip. Hope to be back soon.

Staying at Camp Bud was the most relaxing vacation we have had in many years if not ever. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, feeding the ducks and a camp fire every night. It was close to hiking at Acadia and shopping and dining at Bar Harbor. We felt it was the perfect Maine camp experience.

We enjoyed our week at Camp Bud tremendously. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is one of the most well-stocked rentals I've been in. The views of the lake are gorgeous and the lake itself was extremely quiet - very little boating or other traffic. We really liked being close enough to Acadia, Ellsworth and Bangor to go out and explore. Thank you, Linda and Steve, for a great vacation spot!

Our week at Camp Bud was wonderful. We had hoped for a peaceful retreat to our hectic lives and we were not disappointed! The cabin is clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and full of personal touches to make you feel at home. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks, canoe, and paddle boat. The porch with the lake breeze was an added plus. We highly recommend this property!

We enjoyed our week in this well equipped Maine Camp. The owners were welcoming and provided everything we needed including pots, spices, washer and dryer and a/c in the bedroom. We loved the porch for meals, reading and listening to the loons. The lake is crystal clear and quiet. We loved looking at the stars and having a fire. We hope to be back again.

My family and I just ended a stay at Camp Bud and, as my title states, it was...unanimously....the best and our most favorite camp we have ever stayed at and that's saying a lot since I've been renting camps with first my daughter and then my son-in-law and two grandchildren as well for 20 years. Where to start...we all prefer rustic camps and that is Camp Bud. But, not going to lie, as I've grown older I do like a touch of convenience as well and that is what we got in the only places I need them...the kitchen and bathrooms. The pictures show that well. The camp was equipped with every possible thing you could need in the kitchen along with plenty of towels, pillows, linens and bedding. The owners even tended to the little details not everyone thinks of...first aid kit, paper products, dish/laundry supplies, s'mores kits, etc. It was quite handy to have a washer/dryer as well. The rustic was found in the whole camp, especially the porch, which we all loved so much! And my 9 year old grandson and 6 year old granddaughter just loved the loft bedroom! This wonderful camp sits on an even more beautiful spot on Beech Hill Pond. The lake is crystal clear and the water so refreshing. And like the inside, the outside was well equipped with a paddle boat (my grandchildren's favorite amenity and just perfect for their ages), kayaks, canoe and a fire pit and adirondack chairs all right on the shoreline. We finished every evening there. As if all that wasn't enough there was plenty of critters to be found in the area....the very friendly ducks of course, a bunny who visited every day, chipmunks, turtles and many, many crayfish that came out in the evening and were happy to have my grandchildren catch them in their nets. The owners were so generous in sharing their cracked corn with us so the grandkids could enjoy feeding the ducks each day. Lastly, the owners...we were greeted by Linda on our arrival and she was so kind and friendly, gave us the lay of the land and let us know she was available if we needed anything but otherwise we wouldn't see her. She was very thoughtful to respect our family time. She and her husband live next door but the only time we saw them after our arrival was when Linda...figuring the kids needed some more cracked corn (she was right) popped over to drop some off. They truly were such welcoming and kind people and we are very thankful they shared their amazing piece of heaven with us. THANK YOU!!

Camp Bud more than exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, until the day we left, we were treated to a peaceful and serene environment. The neighborhood was quiet. The lake was inspiring and fun. Even the camp itself provided a relaxing atmosphere. We were looking for a place where we could decompress as a family, and Camp Bud did that for us. We were close enough to local areas to enjoy day trips, yet far enough away to avoid any hustle and bustle normally associated with tourist locations. The local people were friendly and accommodating, and we really enjoyed patronizing the smaller restaurants and shops in the area. Camp Bud gave us the week we all really needed, and we look forward to a return trip in the future.

Camp Bud was the perfect Maine getaway! The cabin was immaculate and well stocked! The peaceful environment was just what our family needed!!!
Acadia & Bar Harbor were very easy to get to! The location of this property couldn’t be more perfect. It’s located in a quiet cove, with nothing but Loons and ducks to entertain you! Plenty of water toys like kayaks and tubes, great fire pit, and the most charming 3 season porch you’ll ever see!!
The owners are simply the most attentive caretakers! They simply want you to enjoy their camp as much as they do! We certainly fell in love with Camp Bud! Highlights recommend!!!!!!

Can't wait to go back!
This was our first time at Camp Bud and we had a wonderful stay. Linda and Steve are lovely and the cottage is so comfortable and well stocked. Seriously I have never stayed in a rental that was so well stocked and had such comfortable furniture. We had a blast feeding the ducks, paddling in the lake, and enjoying the porch. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

CAMP BUD : June 11-25 , 2022
Enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at the camp swimming and canoeing , listening to the loons and ducks, visiting nearby Acadia National Park , and enjoying several seafood feasts at the local dining establishments. Very restful and relaxing to sit and relax on the beautiful screened-in porch or on the sunny boat dock. Looking forward to our next vacation at camp Bud.

Another Amazing Stay at Camp Bud
We love Camp Bud! It is an absolutely wonderful place. The cabin, the camp and the lake are SUPERB. We had another great time this year. Linda and Steve are phenomenal hosts. Nothing is too small or too difficult. Awesome!

We enjoyed our stay at Camp Bud immensely in late May/early June and can NOT wait to go back next year!!! It matches the host's description and more! It is the BEST VALUE of all vacation homes we ever rented.
1) The location –
- It sits right on Beech Hill Lake, a quiet and private neighborhood which we loved. At times, we felt we were on our private lake canoeing and kayaking as we did not see other people. The lake is calm and clean and it’s a great place for swimming and other water sports. The camp has canoe, kayak, paddle boat, life vests, paddles, beach boards and swimming noodles for its guests to use. Don’t be surprised if some well-behaved ducks from the lake come to say hi. We enjoyed feeding them and were happy to catch sight of four baby ducks before we left : )
- Acadia National Park/ Bar Harbor are only 45 minutes away with many beautiful hiking trails.. The Ocean Path has spectacular views of the ocean accompanied by many shapes and sizes of rocks where we rested/slept after some long hiking days. We then hit Bar Harbor for dinners. Our favorites are Mainly Meat BBQ, Rosalie’s Pizza, Side Street Café Bar. Ellsworth is 25 minutes away with a big Walmart Supercenter and Blueberry Hill Dairy Bar for ice cream. Bangor is 25 minutes away. We walked along the Penobscot River and were pleasantly surprised by a BJ’s Warehouse!
2) The camp –
- It’s well stocked with everything you need from the kitchen to the laundry room.
- We enjoyed sitting at dining table in the enclosed porch with a beautiful lake view many nights.
- The high-speed internet worked well for us to stay connected to family, friends and some work emergencies.
- There are individual heating and cooling units in the bedroom and living room. They are quick to warm up or cool down the camp to make our stay very comfortable.
3) The host
- Linda is the BEST host we ever had in our vacation rental experiences. She is SUPER thoughtful and welcoming. She wants you to be her “guest” not just another “renter of the week”. She truly wants you to have a spectacular time and feel at home while away from home. Her hospitality is reflected in all the details Camp Bud. We had our BEST vacation in every aspect of this trip and are looking forward to go back soon!

Our stay at Camp Bud relaxed us and gave us a cozy, peaceful place to wind down each evening after a day of adventuring in Acadia National Park. Linda has supplied the cabin very well with extra towels, spices, every utensil and pan for cooking, puzzles, soaps, laundry detergent, and other amenities other such as fans, hair dryers, and even a s’mores kit! Plus, if you enjoy the outdoors, Linda has kayaks, life jackets, paddles, outdoor seating, and a fire pit. Let’s not overlook the wildlife. Watching the mallards, loons, rabbits, and blue jays was a treat for us each morning as we had coffee on the fabulous screened in porch. Great stay!

I can’t say enough good things about this property! One of the cleanest rentals I’ve ever stayed at, and incredibly well stocked! Beech Hill Pond is so peaceful and my family loved watching the leaves change color when it got colder (we stayed late Sept into Oct). Outdoors, we enjoyed kayaking, paddleboating, fishing (you can get a fishing license a few min drive away), campfires, and feeding the ducks. It’s such a wonderful outdoor space, and even though there are a lot of other camps around the lake, it still manages to feel private. Indoors, we had fun doing puzzles, playing games, and looking through the many Maine magazines. We didn’t turn on the tv even once! There’s also a “camp book” with so much helpful info compiled by Linda and Steve. That definitely helped us plan where to go and how to get there.
The porch is absolute perfection, and honestly the reason I chose this property. It was even enjoyable on the colder days though it’s not insulated - just put on your sweater and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa or tea! I brought an electric blanket and was very comfortable the couple nights I slept out there, listening to the water and nature.
The rest of the camp is wonderful as well, a very cozy living room with a heater that does a pretty good job keeping the the whole house warm. It doesn’t fully reach the bedroom and bathroom, but there is a down comforter and many quilts/blankets to stay warm in the bedroom, and more that enough hot water for multiple people to shower in a row. The washer and dryer worked well.
Linda and Steve were excellent hosts! So nice, friendly, helpful, and easy to reach to answer any questions we had. We forgot something when we left and Linda was so kind as to mail it back to us! Truly above and beyond, in my opinion. We would love to come back!!!
One last thing I’ll mention is that cell service is indeed very spotty at the property. I was expecting to have no service at all, so I was pleasantly surprised to be able to call and text, but it’s better in some spots than others. However, my phone’s gps didn’t work anywhere in the area, so I did a lot of studying maps and saving directions since I couldn’t rely on phone gps. The WiFi on the property is excellent and reaches outside the house.

The perfect place for beauty and peace. Bud Camp is so comfortable and the surroundings are majestic. Camp fires, swimming in the COLD lake and the ducks and birds were entertaining. Loved the front porch.

We just spent a second perfect stay at camp Bud. The lake was quiet and peaceful this time of year. The water is crystal clear. We saw a flock of 15 plus loons paddle by us, twice! Nice camp for vacation
We had a very nice vacation in Camp Bud. The camp stocked a lot of items for us. We felt like to be in our home. As we arrived the camp, Linda came and introduced around the camp. After that, we were alone and not bothered by anyone. If need any help, Linda and Steve would just come immediately. The camp is in quite location and very convenient for us to explore around, such as Acadia National Park or Camden. The lake is very clear and good for swimming.

Our stay was exactly what we had hoped for! Linda and Steve are such welcoming host that made us feel right at home and provided all the necessities you need and more! Enjoyed the conveniences of home such as a fully equipped kitchen w dishwasher and having a washer & dryer were nice all while being tucked away from it all. Beech Hill was fun to explore on the kayaks, canoe, & paddle boat that is provided. The clear clean lake lined with evergreens accompanied with the cozy cottage feel the camp provides was a perfect taste of ME and made for a wonderful tranquil setting that was relaxing and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life. A slice of heaven and great family memories were made. Great location to Acadia, Bar Harbor, & Ellsworth. Close to the lumberjack show, Momo’s cheesecake & Blueberry Dairy Hill to name a few of our favorites! The screened in porch with the lake view was the perfect setup for our family meals, conversations, game nights and best of all quality time! The Loons, ducks, hummingbirds, extra touches & kind messages left by previous guest really makes for a great atmosphere

We loved staying at Camp Bud! It was our home away from home for a week while we had a perfect mix of relaxing by the lake and exploring Bar Harbor/Acadia. Linda has put a lot of thought into making sure their guests have everything they need! Located in a very lovely area, the lake is beautiful and clear! The kids spent a lot of time swimming, rain or shine (loved the shed so I could sit and watch the kids when they swam in the rain or when it was a bit chilly for this momma!) We also loved spotting the wildlife in and around the lake, feeding the ducks, watching the birds, loons, hare and mink. Also a lovely area to kayak! At night, we were amazed at ALL the stars we could see-absoultely beautiful! In the evenings, we spent a lot of time on the back porch as a family playing cards and having fun. Just the perfect spot for a family getaway. Within an hour of Bar Harbor/Acadia, and we just loved the beautiful drive there and back. We balanced our week with having stay at the lake days, and exploring. Took the kids to Acadia, near Sand Beach to Thunder Hole, and the Wonderland Loop for tidepooling, as well as visiting Bar Harbor. We also visited Fort Knox. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Otis and beyond and highly recommend you stay here! Thank you Linda and Steve for sharing your well-appointed camp with our family!
