Enough space for a 4-generation family gathering. Ping-pong table for the kids. Hot tub. Lots of bedrooms. We had a great time.

This property is not a VRBO property. It is rented by Vacasa a real estate listing agency separate from and with different requirements and protections than VRBO has. This is not made clear on the vrbo listing. Neither vrbo nor vacasa are responsive to email inquiries after placing the deposit. To it’s credit, Vacasa does contact you 1 month prior to occupancy for the final payment. They were supposed to text and email the entry codes 24 hrs prior to occupancy but had to be called as that didn’t happen.
The house worked well for our 8 adults and 3 children. Be aware that this is a 1990s structure that is a little shabby. They ask you to note any issues and we had a list 1 page single spaced of non-functional or broken items. I sent this list to Vacasa and they immediately contacted me and sent a representative over to try and fix things but all required more in depth care than could be provided by this nice person. The other thing that was a little strange is the owner has rented out the detached garage on the property to what appears to be a number of individuals who run a junk business. This did not really affect us other than having to look at it.
The hot tub on the deck was nice however, the water chemistry and chlorine levels were not safe. I have had a hot tub for >30 years and was able to correct the pH and chlorine levels myself. If you are not familiar with hot tub chemistry, beware.
Overall, the home design and fantastic views of the gorge=4stars

The good things about this house: fantastic view, hot tub, large living-dining-kitchen area with big comfy couches. It was clean and there were ample fresh linens. The negatives: faulty oven, barely working dishwasher, toaster broken, mold on ceiling of lower level shower. I did not like dealing with Vacasa. All my questions were seemingly answered by a computer program.
The owners of this house should spend some serious time in it. Throw out the ancient spices, go through the kitchen drawers and cupboards and sort out the useless items and provide new cutlery. Sew up the torn couch pillows, update the tired looking bed skirts and comforters, repair the timer in the upstairs bath and apply a critical eye to the decor. Sleep in all the beds, because maybe it is time for new mattresses. There is a big difference between an older home that is lovingly cared for and one that is neglected. A non-owner corporation does a fine job in cleaning and supplying fresh linens but it lacks a certain pride of ownership.
If I had direct communication with the owner, I would have said all of these things in a private email, but Vacasa doesn't provide that level of communication.

The view is great with this location. Plenty of space for large groups. The house itself could certainly use some updating and be better stocked with towels and bedding for the spare beds.

There were comfortable beds for all of us. The kitchen was very well appointed. We had everything we needed for all of us - lounging space, TV watching, hot tub, studying space, and visiting space. It was convenient for those who drove in, and those who flew in.

We rented this house for 4 nights with a group of 16 people to play board games for the whole time (yes really). Overall, everyone was very pleased with the house and we would return - it's very spacious, with a relatively well stocked kitchen and a spare kitchenette with refrigerator downstairs. The hot tub and deck are very nice with tremendous views of the gorge (which you can also see right out from the family room outside huge windows).
I'd say the house would easily sleep 12 very comfortably; with 16, we had a few folks sleeping out in the common areas, which was okay with us, but could be an issue if privacy for everyone is a concern.
Our main criticism of the house is that it is just a little rundown. The carpet in some of the bedrooms feels a bit unclean and very well worn with mild stains, some of the furniture feels too worn, and there are odds and ends around the house that have a DIY-fixed feel to them.
That said, no other complains, and none of us were put-off enough by the wear and tear for it to detract from enjoyment of the house. There are ample bathrooms which are well-stocked, plenty of provided towels for the hottub, and the surrounding area is a nice walk. Would recommend.

The house was nicely situated with am epic view of the Gorge and there was lot to like such as the location, space, patio, deck, and views. We loved our stay but a lot of the little details were off.
1/ There is am odd room downstairs that someone used to or maybe still does temporarily occupy and they have access to the home.
We happened to open door on the bottom floor and in the room we found moldy food, alcohol, recently used (wet) towels, and binoculars. This really creeped out the women in our party.
2/ Ants all over the house.
There were ants crawling all over the house. Some in our party were bitten and if we left food on the counter for more than 30 seconds, we would find an ant in our food, this was really disgusting.
3/ Blinds broken in the living room.
As mentioned, the home has an epic view of the Columbia river gorge. But the blinds in the living room were broken, so we could not get a view of the gorge when hanging in the living room, this was a missed opportunity.
4/ Clogged showers.
The tubs on the third floor would not drain properly and the water pressure was awful. Not a big deal, but another misses opportunity.
5/ cable is basement didn't work.
The guys wanted to watch some sports in the basement but the cable box didn't work.

We were expecting much more for nearly $1500+/night. The house was dirty and dated, same couch as mentioned earlier. Under bookshelf and Ottoman was layers of dust and crumbs, goldfish in sofa bed. The a/c was set to 74 and we couldn’t change, 2 roller blinds were broken, and blocking views, recycle bin was full of garbage and soiled diapers when we arrived and also impacted hot tub and deck experiences. Stinky. Garbage outside on perimeter of property. Dryer was broken. Shade was flapping around above hot tub unsecured. Would not recommend at all. Plus $2 each way into hood river across till bridge and walk to town was a loooong walk to town. There is also a bunk bed in master, but the cover has a huge stain/nasty. Several double doors without curtains even in bedroom so it’s bright. Bummer!

We give this property five stars.
This is a large, spacious house with so many amenities. Perfectly sited to offer an exceptional view of the Columbia Gorge and Mount Hood. Situated and landscaped to provide a feel of seclusion though you're in a neighborhood close to White Salmon. Well provisioned kitchen, plenty of space for a large group. Easy access to river, mountain, hiking and biking trails. Loved our stay watching the weather roll through.

Beautiful home with amazing view
We absolutely loved this home! We were a large family group with several young children and this home was perfect. Lots of space and the view is stunning.
I also want to mention that we had an unforeseen hardship during our stay and Vacasa was willing to work with us and helped us out tremendously. Thank you!

Thanksgiving in White Salmon
This is a comfortable house with an amazing view of the river and Mt Hood. Large hot tub, ample towels and linens, plenty of space in the kitchen for lots of cooks. The town of White Salmon is a hidden gem.

Great House
We loved the house but there was little to clean with, not even a broom. We did not get to enjoy the house during the beautiful weather they must have during the summer. Wish we could have cooked out and sat in the chairs and just watched the world go by. Would definitely rent again if going that direction.

Magnificent!
I can truly say that the pictures do not do justice to this house. We had 15 people (including 2 littles) and a great grandma. GG slept in the den (library) - there was a pullout couch but she wanted to sleep on the couch itself because it was roomy. BAthroom access right across the hall. The couple with kids were in the master and what a master! it had a bunk bed in it so the kids could use that. Two twenty somethings took the couches and the rest of us had our own rooms. So 3 BR on upper floor. Den on main floor with pullout. 2 BR downstairs. Oh the downstairs has a total separate, spacious living space of it's own and a kitchen with table. No cook top but microwave, and regular frig. The living space and kitchen upstairs was very spacious as well. Hoot tub and deck - fantastic. Everyone loved the place, There are 6 parking spots. The tenant that is mentioned is in a total separate house. The view is to die for. Sunsets in the gorge can be spectacular. You won't regret staying here. It is worth it!
