The best vacation ever. The cottage was perfect and the owner made finding the best beaches, shopping and restaurants easy. Very organized and well stocked, everything that you could possibly need was to enjoy a quiet, romantic holiday. We want to go back again. Stress free and the most relaxed way to experience the Big Island.

We can't say enough good things about Aloha Vacation Cottages, Hale Kea, and Annette & Pally. Hale Kea was even more attractive than the online description, so homey and comfortable we just didn't want to leave. Annette was such a marvelous host, providing lots of valuable insight and warm aloha, but very respectful of a guest's privacy. The location was so convenient and central to the sights and amenities of the north and west island, and just a short drive from Kona or Hilo. A perfect vacation getaway - we don't hesitate to give it our highest recommendation.

We appreciated being away from the chaos of the tourist areas and having the privacy of our home away from home. Being a ranch style with very few steps, this rental was especially nice for someone with bad knees. We really appreciate the graciousness of our hosts. Our hosts have provided so many amenities that you can feel free to leave many things at home that you thought you might need. They provide all that you will need for a day outing and going to the beach, as well as, all you need for a pleasant day just relaxing at the rental. We've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and continue to come back here because it's the best one we've ever stayed at.

Lots of little extras to make us feel welcome. Aloha does not just mean hello or good-bye. It a way of being. The Big Island is full of aloha. This was a great location, private deck. But close enough to snorkel, explore Mauna Kea , visit volcanos national park. I felt sorry for people that took a cab to a hotel and spent their vacation in that one spot. This wonderful island has to be explored. Annette and Pally had many great ideas and we're happy to share their local knowledge. Look for the slack key guitar cd's. My wife and I just finished a two-week stay in Hale Kea. This is a great place to get away from the tourist bustle and experience what it's like living in a quiet neighborhood on the dry side of Waimea. The lanai is surrounded by flowering plants that afford complete privacy, yet the mountside with, often, clouds moving across the upper elevation is visible above one end. In the evening you can hear cows lowing and the occasional bray of a wild donkey in the distance. A bird feeder attracts a multitude of java sparrows--very entertaining. Some nice beaches, both for snorkeling and sunbathing are 7-10 miles away. We enjoyed the beach at Mauna Kea resort most--many different kinds of coral out a ways. We saw a large ray, large turtle, crab, eels and many reef fish there. Pally and Annette are great hosts. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and then some. Annette sent us an email with details on snorkeling spots, gave us some very good suggestions on places to eat--try the pizza place in Kapaau--and printed out our boarding passes for us when we were ready to leave. All in all, an A+ experience. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

My husband and I just love this place! This is our 2nd year to stay here and we plan to return next year too. Its conveniently located between Waimea and the beach. This cottage is so well organized and clean and aesthetically pleasing. Its comfortable to sleep at night for the evenings are cool. There is a lovely deck where we ate all of our meals. And the best part are the delightful hosts who tell you about wonderful places to go that you might not find out about otherwise and they are so quick to answer questions.

We’ve had the opportunity to rent homes and condos in a variety of locations but we’ve never rented from a host with your passion and dedication for detail and for the true interest of the renter in mind. Thanks for creating a perfect vacation environment. We didn’t want for anything! The location is perfect; the Hale Kea Cottage is perfect and we’ll recommend it to all who plan a visit to the Big Island. A fabulous experience!

If you are looking for a comfortable, fully furnished, super clean place to call home for a few days, this is it. The cottage is very well located, a few minutes from all the nice beaches and other places of interest such as Mauna Kea and Kona. It is located in a residential area so it is quiet and very safe. We have rented many different places in different countries but this one was different. Annette will go out of her way to make sure you feel at home. I have never seen such a well stocked rental. You have everything you need and more. The kitchen is fully equipped for real. Nothing was missing, it was even more than what I have at home. There was an enormous amount of information on what to do and where to go and if that was not enough, Annette & Pally will be more than happy to help you find the spot you are looking for. But be carefull, your standards are going to be very high after staying at the Hale Kea cottage.

We recently spent two wonderful weeks in Hale Kea returning home with many wonderful memories of our stay with Annette and Pally. Hale Kea is exactly as depicted in the photos and having traveled extensively we can state with total conviction that we have never stayed in a self catering facility that was so well equipped - our hosts have thought of absolutely everything to ensure their guests enjoy a perfect vacation. There is so much to enjoy on the "Big Island" - beaches with snorkeling are close at hand, hiking( our passion) offers many, many choices; historical places of interest and Volcano National Park, all of which combined to provide many enjoyable memories. We would like to return to the Island and would again stay at Hale Kea to renew our acquaintance with such gracious hosts - thank you for waiting up to welcome us when we arrived after midnight (delayed flight) - hopefully on our next visit we will arrive a bit earlier! We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely cottage to friends and family.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! Everything was great, with such thoughtful touches from the super comfortable bed to the night I was up late reading …and wished for a nice, warm throw…and there was one draped over the end of the couch! Having the washer & dryer is so convenient. And, we just loved feeding all the tiny finches (birds) --- watching them was a blast, on the deck. The location is perfect for beaches and for visiting the other side of the island, and there is shopping and restaurants close by. It was a wonderful setting for an unforgettable vacation!

We stayed at Hale Plumeria for two weeks in March. Our flight was late and we were tired. Annette was there to make sure we were informed of the essentials and could get settled in with no drama. She made us feel at home instantly. The cottage is exactly as described with every amenity you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. You will find that that Annette and Pally have thought of everything. They are the perfect hosts, unobtrusive but there when you need them. We love music and they were great about letting us know about events we might have missed otherwise. The cottage is very private with a separate driveway so you really feel like it’s your own little retreat. The location is perfect and the countryside is beautiful. It’s about as central as you can possibly be to all the Big Island must sees. Waimea, two miles up the road, is a really nice little town with lots of great places to eat and shop etc.(Don't miss the Hawaiian Style Cafe!) We love the place. Once you stay here, you want to be on the Big Island forever. You never want to leave again. Our stay at the Hale Kea offered by Aloha Vacation Cottages met and exceeded all of our expectations. When we walked in the door, escorted by our lovely hosts, we instantly felt at home. The photos accurately depict the appearance of the cottage. It is open and airy, with lots of natural light and fresh breezes. There is a lovely porch surrounded by tropical plants, providing a "wall" of privacy. My fiance and I had coffee together on the porch every single morning as we listened to the songs of happy birds. Our hosts provided us with EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE as far as ammenities go. I mean, I am not kidding you when I say, I packed too much. The list of ammenities is truly impressive and covers everything from shampoo, q-tips, lotion, makeup remover, sunblock, robes, slippers, hats, a laptop to use, a king sized sleep number bed, a cell phone for local calles, a discount card for the local market, tropical perfume, boogie boards, beach towels, snorkel gear... the list goes on and on. It was amazing. Aloha Vacation Cottages really goes above and beyond to make sure their guests feel completely at home and want for nothing. A beautiful fruit basket was on the table for us when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with every spice imaginable, as well as oils, vinegars, soy sauce, microwave popcorn, hot chocolate mix, oatmeal. My fiance, who is a chef, really appreciated this. Our lovely hosts even provided a travel cooler bag to bring our lunch with us when we went out, as well as paper plates, napkins, and cutlery. We also took advantage of the bbq that is on the lanai! The cottage was clean and well-maintained. We could tell that our hosts really care for the place. We were incredibly comfortable here. We loved the sleep number adjustable bed so much that now my fiance wants to buy one! I can't stress enough how comfortable the Hale Kea is. It always felt good to "come home" at the end of a long day in the sun. Knowing the our hosts were nearby (they live in the house behind the Hale Kea, but both of their rentals are free-standing buildings) was a comfort. We knew that if we needed anything, they'd be there. They left us alone, to have our romantic vacation. We enjoyed our stay very much and we would definitely recommend this to friends and relatives. We spent 10 days at Hale Kea cottage and found it to be in a great location, well maintained and furnished with everything we could possibly need. Swimming and snorkeling are not far away and Waimea is close by with grocery stores, etc. Annette and Pally were wonderful hosts and took care of a problem we were having with the cable TV reception quickly. Really a wonderful place to spend time and relax in beautiful Hawaii.

Aloha Cottages is truly a unique find on the Big Island. The cottage my daughter and I stayed in was spotless and so fully equipped that we felt just like we were in our own little home. It is very private and located on the best spot on the island with beaches and charming town nearby. We could quietly relax, enjoy cooking on the grill on the lovely deck, watch movies and sleep comfortably between our excursions.Our hosts were nearby and so helpful anytime we needed them, but not intrusive in any way. I could not think of any other place I would rather stay and highly recommend it to anyone travelling there...a perfect vacation spot!
