The listing really doesn't do this condo justice. The setting is absolutely beautiful and it was perfect for our family of four and small dog. The kids had tons of fun things to keep them occupied so even when we weren't off out and about they were at the pool or kayaking or fishing, rather than waiting around. Beds were comfortable, everything was very clean, and Jason was super responsive. We hope to come back in the future if we are able!

Jason’s property on the Bon Secour River is exactly what we needed for a week to relax and unwind! Jason was extremely quick to respond to any questions we had. The pictures are great, but do not do this place the justice it deserves. This unit is very clean, nestled in a quaint neighborhood with friendly neighbors, and has quick access to numerous restaurants and shops. We spent most of our time outside on the decks watching birds, river otters, jumping mullet, and turtles… the wildlife did not disappoint. We had planned on hopping over to the beach, but after lounging at the pool that overlooks the river, we didn’t even bother. The kitchen is fully stocked for anything you would need for an overnight or extended stay. All furniture and beds were comfortable… several naps were taken on the patio furniture on the lower deck/seating area. We had plenty of room to park our large pickup truck underneath the unit. The upper deck has a nice gate that kept our dogs safely contained on the upper level while we enjoyed relaxing with them up there. Highly recommend the Tin Top Restaurant (also recommended to us by Jason) as it is very close with great service, and tasty, but diverse menu. I usually have recommendations for improvement, but it is obvious that Jason takes pride in his home, and we were very pleased throughout our entire stay. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family, and we will be back. Thanks for a great week, Jason!

I didn’t realize I needed to get away from it all until I stayed here! We planned on spending time at the beach but only went twice, for only a bit each time. We caught a few fish, used the crab trap and caught a few crabs, kayaked a ton, and swam in the pool. We saw lots of turtles and even watched an alligator while we fished. It’s just an amazing area for your soul! The unit itself is perfectly fine and comfortable, and Jason gave us everything we needed. We just had to show up!

This place is amazing! Beautiful river view, a dolphin frequently comes in and swims close to the deck, super clean with all the amenities of home. The property owner is very easy to work with and reach if there is anything needed (doubt if you would need anything because you ha e it all there!) Outta the busy city but close enough to drive for the day and see the sights. Completely would stay here again if we were to return!

This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we enjoyed every second of it again! It’s our little family hideaway from the busy Gulf Shores life. It’s amazing to sit and relax on the private deck below and watch be wildlife on the Bon Secour River. After spending the day at the beach we loved ordering a pizza from The Galley next door and ending the day with a swim at the pool. The outlets are super close too! We love coming here and will definitely be back! Jason, the owner is great to work with too! If you stay here you won’t be disappointed!

Throughly enjoyed this location. We stayed 5 days and this location was great. Nice to be away from the beach crowd. It’s a quick 15 mins drive to the beach and major attractions for all your daytime fun and than a nice quiet evening back at home. Had fun using the kayaks and fishing from the dock even got to see a few dolphins come in during the morning. Will be booking again on our next trip down. Jason gave me a call a few days before my trip and let me know all the key details and some good local info and was a great host.

We had a great stay, super peaceful and even had dolphins come near our deck. We did not catch as many fish as we had hoped for, but enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Also conveniently located close to all the shops, restaurants, and beaches. It really is a perfect location to have a bit of it all.

Jason was amazing at responding and informing even calling to help us know what to expect. This easy going quiet location is perfect for getaway but still close by for local attractions and the beaches. We really enjoyed all the extras this VRBO had to offer, location, calm River water front w/ kayaks and a punching bag to boot! The kids enjoyed to pool too. It was a cozy but still spacious enough for 4 adults and two kids fit very comfortably!

The property was perfectly located on the Bon Secour river. We were also very close to shopping, gas and only about 20 minutes from the beach (depending on traffic).
We did get to see a dolphin, but we did not have a lot of luck fishing. I have to blame that on user error and not the property.
Jason had the property well stocked for any occasion. Make sure to check all the drawers and cabinets if you are looking for something because he probably has it stocked. My son took out a kayak a few times and there were lots of fishing poles available.
There was a slight hiccup checking in, but it was more of a technical error and resolved itself quickly.
We will definitely rent from here the next time we are in the area.

I felt very much at home in this place! Nice set up with fun stuff to use!!! We had a great time...comfortable for 3 adults and two small dogs!!!! Four adults would be pushing it square foot wise, and I live in a 1000 square ft home with 3 people/2 dogs. I love the location... caught some fish and crabs off of dock... most people in the housing area are friendly. Bugs were not bad at all, and I am allergic to most bugs! Actually it was impressive! Like 3 bites in a week and we were out at dusk almost everyday. The bed was pretty painful on my back and I do not have any back problems. I might have to go to the chiropractor...I have never had to do that! Hopefully muscle relaxers will work and let me realign my spine but man...idk it's really bad.... my daughter said the twin beds were just as bad... my husband does have back problems and well...he is going to a chiropractor. Air conditioner keeps up with heat and easy to set. Great location! Cleaning fee is steep for having to put in and run towels, load and run dishwasher, garbage, fridge/freezer and strip beds. When I pay that fee I expect to walk away with minimal effort.. empty fridge freezer and garbage seems fair for that fee. Would gladly come back if beds were replaced! Nice owner!

My family and I had such a great time at Jason’s place! We always stay on the beach, but decided to change it up a little this year. I’m so glad we did!! We used the kayaks and fished every day! We saw a dolphin swim right up in front of the house! It’s so peaceful and calm, but only a few minutes from Gulf Shores! 10/10 recommend staying here!

This home on the river was absolutely perfect for our family. We were down for a week long softball tournament and didn’t want to be on the beach. The location was super convenient to all that Gulf Shores and Foley has to offer. Fishing right off the dock& swimming in the pool was an added bonus for the boys. Very few neighbors around. So quiet and relaxing!! We absolutely loved staying here. Host is very helpful and has great commication with his renters. The home was extremely clean and stocked with the necessities. Comfy beds, wifi was great. We left a wallet and honesty is what you will get with the host. 100% recommended ;)

Right on the river! Very quiet and relaxing! Has a pool for the community! Had a baby dolphin visit multiple times in the river! Beach was nice and close, and the softball fields! Everything was there to cook and have a easy vacation!

What a perfect place to stay. We have done the “beach vacation” and wanted to try something different on this trip. It did not disappoint. We saw a dolphin the first morning! We all enjoyed kayaking and hanging out on the dock watching the world go by in this super quiet little neighborhood. The space was perfect for our family of four and the boys each had their own bed. There’s a great restaurant within easy walking distance. Basics like towels, linens, kitchenware, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and dish soap were provided. It’s close enough to the action, but far enough removed from the traffic and busyness to truly relax and enjoy life. If you go, check out the fish markets just down the road and plan to put seafood on the menu.

We really enjoyed this place. Relatively quiet location. Caught some fish, saw dolphins come up the river and could easily kayak around. The dock was large and we could hang out back and just watch the birds and turtles. Close proximity to nearby attractions including the beach. The owner was so nice and told us everything we needed to know.
Downsides: roosters. Some neighbors had roosters and some days were worse than others. You also have to travel to get to a good walking area. That is minor but we had a toddler that likes to go for walks.
Overall it was great for the time we were there. We would recommend it!

Clean, everything you need, great views, lots of fish, amazing restaurant within walking distance and perfect location for everything. Even better than the pics.. Can't wait to come back! My husband and I were in town for a wedding in Fairhope. This house was the perfect size and location for our long weekend. The waterfront views were perfect, especially as we enjoyed our morning cup of Joe. The house is nicely decorated with a well-stocked kitchen. Jason was great! He called us before our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed to easily access the property. Great experience--we definitely recommend this rental and look forward to going back!
