Everything we could have imagined and more! From the caretaker Luis to an amazing chef Dominic and all the way to property management of Brittany and Keelan… I definitely had tons of communication with them back-and-forth and everything went smoothly! We are so thankful we found this property and had such an amazing time with our family!

Stunning home and setting — a few things worth knowing before you book.Casa Layla is a beautiful property. The setting is gorgeous, and waking up to that view every morning made for a memorable trip. The pool area is a highlight and our family spent a lot of time enjoying it.Luis, the on-site caretaker, was absolutely exceptional. He was warm, attentive, incredibly responsive, and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. He is a genuine asset to this property and made a real difference in our experience.A few things worth knowing for anyone considering this rental:Sargassum. This is a natural and regional phenomenon, but it is worth understanding before you arrive. When present, the seaweed accumulates on the beach and can produce a strong odor that is difficult to tolerate when there is no breeze. It also creates a barrier that limits direct beach access to the water. This is not unique to Casa Layla, but it is a factor that can meaningfully impact your experience depending on timing and conditions.Water access. Swimming directly off the beach or dock is not viable — the dock area sees consistent boat traffic that makes it unsafe. Snorkeling and fishing. Both are absolutely worth doing—just not an option from the property itself. We booked private trips independently. If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat centered around a beautiful home and pool, Casa Layla delivers. Just go in with accurate expectations around water access and you’ll have a great stay.

Beautiful property! Communication with the host was prompt, Luis the caretaker was always willing to help, and there was ample space for our group to spread out. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to vacation in San Pedro!

The entire experience with our stay at Casa Layla for the week was exceptional. The staff (Tatiana and Daniel) were tremendous. From having our transport from the airport to the house and back all taken care of...to making recommendations for activities on the island we could not have been any happier. Tatiana was a fabulous hostess. She cooked some amazing meals and was so very pleasant to work with throughout our entire stay. She was a blessing to us throughout the week, she was easy to work with, and very accommodating.The house was also fantastic. The location is ideal for some solitude but also close enough to secret beach and San Pedro by golf cart to do additional activities.We loved the pool, the swim up bar, the comfortable furniture poolside. The dock was also fantastic...and great to fish off of (Red Snapper!!!).The rooms were good size, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The large open floor plan and HUGE kitchen opening into the downstairs family room was quite a popular hangout for our group of 7. We were able to cook when we needed and coordinate our meals with Tatiana who made some great recommendations for food when we ventured out.Tatiana recommended Caribbean Adventures for a fantastic day on a large sailboat with snorkeling, drinks, lunch, etc. This is a MUST do (Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley, etc). Caribbean Adventures also provided a multi-hour trip to snorkel at Mexico Rocks where we saw some fantastic sights (with pick up and drop off from our dock).I definitely recommend Casa Layla and would not hesitate to stay there again. We have vacationed in a number of islands around the Caribbean and found this to be the best place so far. I can't say enough of how impressed we are by the entire experience.
