Our overall stay was magnificent. The rental location was good - easy access to highway 101.The house was clean and in good shape. I’m recovering from knee surgery and all three bedrooms are upstairs - the staircase was equipped with railings on both sides so I always felt steady going up and down the stairs.Master bedroom has an obstructed view of the ocean (which was nice since it’s not located on the closest street to the ocean), and the stand-up shower in the master bath could use either grip tape on the bottom of it or a handrail installed. Our bed in the master was very soft. Our other travelers commented that the middle bedroom had a hard bed and the end bedroom had a soft bed. We all slept great.The koi pond was my favorite part of the property and we went out to feed the koi every day - there was koi food in a cabinet in the kitchen.The hot tub on the back deck was nice. I only went into it once because it’s kind of “in-ground” and I wasn’t sure enough of my footing to be confident getting in/out of it again. My son sure enjoyed it though!We also walked part of the Hammond trail at sunset. It was an easy 1.3 mile loop for the route we took.We didn’t have any interactions with property management besides texting to let them know when we checked in and out.All in all, I recommend this property and would definitely stay again.

This vacation property is close to everything along the coast and quick shopping trips too. The trails along Mad River are beautiful, safe and allows for every level of walking interests
If you have a larger family as we do and need max amount of privacy as well, this home will suite these needs perfectly. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, sharing quiet conversations around the little fire pit and porches.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

I would have given this property a solid 5 stars, however, we encountered some issues that prevent that. Everything else was great: location, roominess, prettiest house in the neighborhood, comfort, etc. So why am I rating it 4 stars?
Contract trash personnel apparently open the roll-up garage door to get the trash cans. We found the garage door open each time (3) we came home after being gone all day. Since we were told to leave the door open between the garage and the house, that means anyone off the street could have gone into the house while we were gone, and there are homeless people around the city and the walking trails not too far away. We called the management company to tell them about the garage door issue, but nothing changed. This did not make us feel very secure about staying there.
The other thing is that the freezer part of the refrigerator was going out and would not make ice or keep our frozen food frozen. We ended up throwing some of our food out because of this. We told the management company about this too but there was nothing they could do about it while we were staying there.
So, two disappointments in an otherwise very pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful time at this property! It was luxurious with king beds for everyone, a fully stocked kitchen and beautiful back yard. The only concern was that the outside irrigation (for the backyard garden) sounded like it was leaking one night...hopefully it was able to be fixed! Thank you.

Wow. Never again will I book on VRBO or AirBNB (horror stories, no more!) - Trinidad Retreats was seamless, super convenient, friendly informative, and well WORTH IT! The Garden Pond Retreat was spectacular for our small group of 4 people (2 couples). The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed (spices, utensils, plates) to prepare snacks and sandwiches for the trails, and dinner after a day of adventuring. The Redwood forest is a magical place, and this home, is a magical retreat that has everything your group needs to recharge on your vacation.We recovered each day in the hot tub, and at dusk, took a seat on the patio to enjoy the birds and wildlife, (we saw Jays, Herons, Pelicans and even a Fox!)Each morning I woke up early to take a walk on the Hammond Trail, and it was so worth it as I saw River Otters and Harbor Seals feeding in the Mad River. Honestly, this home made me fall in love even more, and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Our group can't wait to return. Thank you welcoming us into your lovely home. Until next year.

The house was amazing, beds were so comfortable, view of the ocean and a close drive to Moon Stone Beach. Seeing family in the area and this was a great place to stay! The spa and gas fireplace on the deck created so many fun memories. This was our most expensive stay for a rental so far after staying in Sunset Beach and Tahoe. I would have loved to have had coffee started kit or more condiments on site upon arrival. We had to run to the store fairly quickly once we arrived since the house didn’t have extra pepper, cooking spray, sugar etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will enjoy our memories made during our trip.

This home was the perfect stay for our vacation to the Redwood national and state parks. The listing was on-pointe and the location was just right. Backyard was serene and we even saw some elk and herons. The house was stocked with everything one would need for a week (except for oil, salt, and sugar - which you could get at the grocery stores nearby along with your groceries) and the appliances were high end, which we greatly appreciated. The family photos and different art work all around the house were a nice homey touch and gave a lovely lived-in and loved feel to the home. Neighborhood was quiet and safe. We would highly recommend this place to anyone and will certainly stay here again should we ever be back to this part of the country.

We stayed in this lovely property with an exquisite garden and fish pond. We were all over 70 and enjoyed walking the trail through the wooded area and adjacent to the beach. The property has everything you can possibly need if you are a cook or bbq er. The bedrooms are very comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. We had no children with us but noticed many touches for them such as a coloring table and a step stool in the powder room so they could access the sink. We would definitely book this property again. The instructions were perfect and I was even able to bring Alexa with us to time our cooking and provide music. No trouble with the internet either. My phone, an iphone worked immediately. Thanks for a great sister reunion!!

This home was so wonderful to stay at. The kitchen was lovely and stocked with everything we could ask for. The furnishings throughout the house were so comfortable and lovely and the decor was interesting and tasteful as well. The landscaping was beyond gorgeous with an array of colors and textures that surrounded the beautiful pond. The jacuzzi and fire pit were the icing on the cake for us and we were lucky to get to spend a few days to recalibrate ourselves!

All around great. House was big, roomy, equipped with all you could ask for. Back yard was beautiful and the kids loved the koi pond. Jacuzzi was our nightly routine as the cloud covered the tops of the trees at night. Perfect quiet neighborhood, could see the ocean out of most of the windows. Walking path was fun but the beach portion wasn't for us. Wasn't any sand for the kids to play in and the sea foam along the coast wasn't enticing. However, 5min up the 10 and your at Clam beach.. Host / Hostess were extremely quick in their responses. The whole process was easy and guide / instruction folder was a nice touch to meet the expectations of the rental owners. Wish we had more time their honestly. Absolutely loved our stay there and would do it again many times if it's still there. FYI they had toys and activity center for the kids which was an awesome touch.

It had a great location for what we wanted to do...sorta 1/2 way between Ferndale & Patrick's Point State Park(now called Sue-meg St Pk) The house is located in an extremely quiet neighborhood, & we thoroughly enjoyed the owner's beautiful garden, fish pond, hot tub, firepit, & just relaxing on the huge deck.
The kitchen had every pan,bowl,or gadget one could imagine with a huge island prep area.
The primary bedroom had an amazing white-water view, & all beds were extremely comfortable.
Our granddaughters loved the darling kid's table & the supply of markers, plus having the fun of watching a frog, a lizard, butterflies, an egret,& pill bugs that hung out at the pond!
We have 2 suggestions...1) Possibly add a larger nightstand or a small dresser to the middle bedroom, as there isn't much flat surface to lay anything down. 2) All the home's furnishings seemed very clean with the exception of the upholstered chair in the primary bedroom. It was soiled & looked like a cat had scratched the fabric.
Otherwise, this house was perfect!!!!

A Relaxing Getaway
We had a wonderful time at the Garden Pond Retreat. It is conveniently located between the Avenue of the Giants and Redwood National Forest, which were the two areas we visited. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, and the house itself was well appointed with a full kitchen, extra towels, and comfy beds. The garden was quite beautiful with unique landscaping and a pond where the kids enjoyed feeding the goldfish. We enjoyed our stay here!

Family Trip for Memorial
My Grandmother's memorial was in Big Lagoon. This home was perfect for mine and my sister's family to be close to the service. This house is convenient to so many state parks and beautiful places to visit.
The home is very lovely and was just as advertised. I would recommend staying here. The house is very big, clean, the kitchen was very well stocked and the landscaping was beautiful. I'll say it again, the landscaping is beautiful!! We would definitely stay here again.

Natasha’s graduation 2021 Was a wonderful family experience. We enjoyed the location with its view And amenities. The property was top notch indoors and out. The only thing I think that was missing was a Remote garage door opener That would’ve helped because a June rain storm.

Wonderful family retreat
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed a week's stay at this beautiful home. The garden was gorgeous with a lovely pond that attracted birds, ducks, and even an egret! The views of this garden from both upstairs and downstairs were delightful. We enjoyed the hot tub daily and roasted marshmallows in the evening over the gas fire pit. The large kitchen was well stocked with nice dishes and glassware as well new shiny pots and pans. The beds were comfortable and the management was quick to reply to the one text we sent. We definitely want to return again.!
