Our family of 4 stayed here over Christmas to be able to spend time with our daughter who is stationed in the area. We loved the home layout and location. We had planned on buying a small Christmas tree while there and didn't have to because the owner messaged that there was a tree and some decorations in a closet...yay! The tree was pre-lit and easy to assemble. It helped make our Christmas away so much better.
We did a whole lot of cooking during our time there. The kitchen is great! We did a lot of shopping for Christmas. The house is conveniently located close to shopping! Would stay here again for sure.

This property was exactly like the photos present it. Patrick was extremely responsive in every way, especially when we accidentally got locked out. The location is convenient to the beach and the rail walk and there’s a grocery store just on the other side of the freeway. The kitchen was the best equipped of all homes that we’ve rented and we’ve been renting vacation homes for two decades. The house easily accommodated four adults and two kids under 3. We were very pleased with everything about the house. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer and enjoy the beach. The host made it easy to book and the house was clean and nicely upgraded!! Love everything about it! Well the driveway could use some TLC.

My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this property. We have 2 children recently both engaged living in area and were able to enjoy time together to plan both weddings. I love the open concept and large farm table to gather at. We also enjoyed the large backyard and games available to use as well as all the beach supplies available to use for the short walk to the beach. We plan on booking again!

Our surfing son loved being close to the water. My wife and I liked walking to the Village. Our 3-year-old granddaughter visited us and spent the whole time in the backyard. She especially loved picking herbs/vegetables and splashing in the wading pool. The house is well-designed and very nice, but not a lot of fancy stuff for little ones to break.

This was a great place to stay for a week in Carlsbad. It’s a short walk to the beach, close to a great walking path that takes you into Carlsbad village, and the neighborhood is quiet (minus the occasional Amtrak train a few houses down).
The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dining supplies, and the kitchen table is the perfect size for meals and board games. We also loved the TV room that could be closed off from the rest of the house when our young children were napping. Overall a great house and we’d definitely return!

Plenty of space and everything you need is there. There are train tracks down the road and the trains can be loud, but I would stay there again any way.

We loved our stay in Carlsbad! The home was very roomy and clean and very well furnished and supplied. The kitchen was beautiful and the best equipped kitchen I have ever experienced in a vacation rental with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, knives and cutting boards, a Keurig AND a pot coffee maker, blender, mixer, can opener, cork screw, ice cream scoop, cookie sheets, even a Crock Pot. Everything you might need! Also, plenty of kitchen towels, bath towels and beach towels, and a washer and dryer. Boogie boards and sand toys were in a deck box near the outdoor shower, which had an extra long towel bar for hanging up wet towels. This was our seventh stay in Carlsbad and the best location. Just three blocks from the Tamarack parking lot and beaches.
We didn’t realize when we booked that we would be so close to a railroad crossing, but decided the train added a charm to our stay. We closed the double-paned windows at night and slept fine. House has A/C.
A note about the four star rating I gave regarding cleanliness: the interior of the house was spotless when we arrived but the patio had not been cleaned. I called the owner and that was taken care of the same day. I found the owner very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at this home. It was very clean and well furnished. The kitchen was beautiful, modern and very well supplied with everything needed for cooking. We loved having a yard, especially for my young grandson. The walk to the beach was easy and not far. We loved the easy access to the trail that took us to Carlsbad Village. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely stay again, but stay longer!

Our family enjoyed everything about this stay. Great location, lots of space, nice patio. I loved the beds and lovely linens. Checkin a breeze. Especially appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards. Impossible to bring those things on the plane!

Five of us had a great mini family reunion over four nights at the house. Lots of room! Very comfortable! Very clean! Great kitchen and open living room area. 15 minute walk to the beach. Had a wonderful visit. Would definitely choose this again!

We really enjoyed this property. Only a few minutes to the beach and an easy walk to Carlsbad Village. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and the property was clean and well-appointed. Communication with the host was very quick and helpful. We will definitely consider staying here again if we're back in this area.

We enjoyed a fun girls weekend in Carlsbad and stayed at this home. It was very clean with lots of extras. We especially appreciated the beach chairs, wagon and supplies. We didn't do much cooking but it looks like it's well stocked if you like to cook. The main gathering area was perfect for us to stay connected while doing different activities. We enjoyed the family room for movie night and my teen granddaughter slept on the comfy couch. We would definitely rent this home again

We have rented many beach houses in several cities through the years and this is definitely one of our favorites. The house was immaculate upon arrival and had every amenity you need as far as supplies for the home and the beach. My wife even got a few ideas as to how she would like to our upgrade our kitchen as well as closets for bedrooms 😊.
Patrick mentioned that they had a big storm prior to our arrival and he immediately came over to repair the gate leading to the backyard before we got there. You can tell he takes great pride in this home and it shows.
We had a great time in our walks to the beach, which was only a few blocks over a little hill. Tamarack Beach was a bit more intimate than some of the Southern California beaches you deal with during spring break and other busy times and Vigilucci's Seafood & Steakhouse is right there across from the ocean. There’s also a walking trail that takes you to Carlsbad Village which has great restaurants and shopping. In the reviews, I noticed that previous residents mentioned it was about a 20 minute walk, which may be accurate, but to us it went by quickly, because , it makes for a fun family time walking in the beautiful Southern California weather.

We enjoyed our stay— the house is really nice inside. Thoughtfully appointed, perfect for a group —with a large dining table, open kitchen with huge island, we were very comfortable here. The place is immaculate and the location is great. Highly recommend this place!

We could not have picked a more perfect spot for our family to gather for a Carlsbad wedding at the Flower Fields. This house is centrally located--a short walk to the beach and the Village. We appreciated that the house was well equipped with a steamer, iron and ironing board since we all arrived with wrinkled dresses and suits for the wedding. The beds were comfortable, the neighborhood is quiet, and we got prompt responses every time we communicated with the owner. We would definitely stay here again if our travels take us back to Carlsbad.

We stayed for a week in September with our 2 young children. Very well appointed and clean home. Great backyard for 2 small kids to play in. Perfect location close to the beach and easy access to I5 to get into San Diego easily. Easy walk into Carlsbad village. Would definitely recommend it.

Our family of 8 (4 generations, 2 with mobility issues) had a wonderful stay in this clean, air conditioned house! Loved the kitchen, it was well equipped with high end appliances and more than enough dishes for all of us. Couches in the front room were a little worn, but comfortable. Beds were very comfortable, and we also used the ‘den’ area as an extra bedroom as it had a door for privacy. We had one issue early in our stay, sent a message to Patrick, and he was there within the hour to take care of it!
Location was great, only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach - we went several times just to watch the sunset! While the street could be busy at times, it was safe for walking with sidewalks on both sides, and crosswalks available. There is a nice walking path to downtown Carlsbad as well (about a 20 minute walk). It was also a great location for getting around, with easy and quick access to and from the nearby interstate. Fully fenced in back yard, with a really nice patio area for sitting out and relaxing.
Our family travelled into San Diego several times during the week we were there (about 30 minutes drive) and some of our group also went to Disneyland for the day (that was a little longer drive).
Overall, just a great stay for a family or several couples! We will book again if we are ever back to California, and I would certainly recommend to my family and friends that are looking for accommodations in this area!
