John was very lovely and pleasant to our arrive. He gave us a tour around the property. The property has a trail that ends at the river. Where you may sit around the firepit and enjoy an amazing and peaceful view. The property offers so many areas for resting and entertainment. From games, tv, music, movies, and books to enjoy the vacations. The kitchen has everything you will need for cooking. If you like a peaceful and quite place this may be a great choice.

This was the perfect place for some old friends to meet and catch up while enjoying John's property, hospitality, and cabin. Great location if you want to visit springs, play on the water, or just hang out around a campfire.

The property was beautiful, the place was clean and organized and fully stocked with every necessity you can think of and so many games and recreation. And John (the host) was so gracious and kind, and so helpful in terms of helping us figure out fun things for my family and I to do. The cabin is situated on such a beautiful piece of land right on the river which he provides canoes and kayaks. There are so many possibilities for fun things to do without ever even leaving the property! The cabin is located maybe one mile from the Ichetucknee River which is absolutely breathtaking, crystal clear blue water where me and my family went tubing, but you could go paddle boarding (which we plan to do next time), canoe or kayak or snorkeling. I really can't say enough about what an amazing time we had here!!!! STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!! 👍

My family and I had a great experience staying here. We fished from the dock mornings and evenings, had a couple of great bbqs at the cabin, and the kids made s'mores in the firepit.
The cabin was generously stocked with basic necessities, such as paper towels, toilet paper, soaps and detergents, and other such supplies. There were more than enough pieces of cutlery and flatware, dishes and plates for six people. There were also full selections of kitchen gear (pots, pans, etc.) and bbq tools.
The cabin is located in a region that has numerous amazing cold-water springs and crystal clear rivers, called "the Gilchrist Blueway." Not only are those natural wonders in close proximity, but the cabin is stocked with pamphlets, maps, and other bits of information about the nearby springs and rivers.
Moreover, the whole property is very well organized. All of the cabinets and drawers are labeled, so you can always find exactly what you're looking for, be it a towel, a frying pan, a coffee cup, etc.
Finally, the host is very nice and accommodating. He gave good advice regarding things to do in the area, made sure that we had everything we need while staying in the cabin, and was excellent at communicating. He responded to all messages instantly, and this made the whole process of checking in as well as the entire stay very worry-free.

If you love nature this is the place.
There are too many things to mention so I will pick a few.
From the house you could watch red shoulder hawks feed their fuzzy chick.
Walking to the river before sunrise for early morning fishing.
There are deer, raccoons and opossums. We could hear turkey too.
This was exactly what we needed.

Neat properly short hike to riverfront. John couldn’t have been more helpful.
Lots of places to visit around the area.
The river rose while we were there so we took advantage and kayaked in the area by the house.

We loved staying at John’s home and property on the Swanee River. We would have enjoyed extending our stay if it had been available. A comfy home with everything you need. Walking the road back to the river and dock is lovely and we often saw varied wildlife. Paddling was great and we ran into a curious manatee at Pothole spring. The swimming was great there for us and our dogs. Overall an excellent place off the beaten path. John is an excellent host and will fill you in about all of the activities available in the area. Plenty of firewood too if you like campfires and outdoor cooking.

I booked this place after reading such great reviews. I completely agree with everyone’s raving comments. John made sure that everything anyone could need is at the cabin for our use. The property itself is great and includes a fun trail the dogs loved to walk and fire pits. I came on a colder weekend and while hesitant at first, I reached out to John and he gave me a list of recommendations that we followed. It was such a pleasant stay that we definitely want to come back. Thank you John for being such a welcoming and attentive host!

A great place to get away from it all. Beautiful property with excellent river access to enjoy the Kayaks. Everything is included to make your stay comfortable. John is excellent to work with and very personable. Would recommend a stay here and I'm looking forward to booking again soon.

What an amazing couple of days, we loved the tranquility of the cabin, so comfortable and peaceful it was hard to check out, we didn’t want to leave!! The river was so dreamy, we brought some chairs next to the gate to watch the sunset. nice escape from reality, we want to come back soon to the same cabin. Bring your tubes and check out the springs too, the owner gave us the best recommendations, we are so thankful for this last couple of days. Loved the location too easy to get around.

We stayed at John’s cabin and brought along 2 pups. I’ve never stayed at a rental with so many amenities available to us. Kitchen was stocked, endless board games, dog bowls supplied. The trail to the waterfront isn’t a long walk and the waterfront dock is just beautiful. My family and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin and actually spent most of our time on the property. John was great at communicating with us and check in and out was a breeze.

If you want to get away from it all, this is a place to go.The women in my family loved to walk from the cabin to the dock at the river and sit and watch the daylight disappear during the evening time. It is so peaceful and serene. The cabin is spacious and has ample room for 6 people. The deck is wonderful to sit in especially during a evening rain. The cabin is well stocked and every thing in it seemed well planned for our comfort. We came to Florida with the destination being Gainesville. However we never reached it since there were so many things to do near here, such as swimming in the springs in the mmany nearby parks or canoeing in the rivers or gathering scallops at Steinhatchee while it is in season or swimming with the manatees in Crystal River. This is one of my better summer vacation all awhile staying in a wonderful cabin in the woods.

When we arrived John gave us the tour and was very informative of the area, and literally has everything you could ever need on a Vaca from everysize life vest, canoes, kayaks, unlimited fire wood, every kitchen appliance/ grill down to off spray, and ibuprofen lol. We enjoyed the dock, kayaking to pothole springs and lounging at the cabin. With all the swings and games my 8 year old had a ball. The only thing we bought was food! Thanks John for going above and beyond and making our vacation memorable

We enjoyed fishing, swimming, lounging by the river, a campfire and s’mores, walking the Jeep trail, and enjoying morning coffee on the balcony. We visited 3 springs within 20 minutes of the cabin. We especially enjoyed tubing down the Ichetucknee river. There was lots to do and a great place to bring our dog. He was in dog heaven. Everything you could think of needing was provided. The house though outdated was comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful time!

My 2 daughters, grandson, and I stayed at John’s cabin for2 nights for a Mother’s Day getaway. We had such a wonderful time and already thinking about rebooking. We booked because of the proximity to so many springs and we visited three which were less than 30 minutes from the cabin. Next time we will be booking for more than 2 nights because just staying on the property is so fun and relaxing. The property is beautiful and John is a wonderful host.
