Cute place, good location
Cute cabin close to the lake, Heavenly and Stateline. We were two couples and the loft area is a little tight for adults, my friend hit his head a few times. It was well stocked for basic cooking and we enjoyed playing board games in the living room.

Very convenient and cozy cabin with everything that is needed for a vacation stay.
Cozy cabin conveniently located in South Lake Tahoe. Very clean and warm when it is chilly outside, the Franklin stove was so nice to have. We loved it!

Home away from home
We love coming to Cubby bear cabin. It is close to restaurants and shops. This is our go to cabin in Tahoe! We bring our Yorkie and it is a perfect place to bring your pet with owner permission. Our kids love sleeping in the loft and it feels like an adventure every time. We always bring our own kitchen comforts from home when we stay to make certain dishes but the cabin have all the basic things you need. I recommend the cabin any day. Thank you Hillary . We had a wonderful Christmas at your cabin.

cute little cabin
I enjoyed my stay at this cozy cabin. The rooms were clean and it was a small, but comfortable space for myself (and my small dog). There was a nice little fenced in area for my dog, but it seemed that this was more 'communal' because it was evident other people/dogs were using this space. Not sure that it was intended this way but I thought I would mention that because the gate was left open a few times and I cleaned up some dog mess that was not from my dog! The wifi was not working with the password given in the instructions for check-in, but I was able to figure it out based on the router/password in the cabinet. I also emailed the owner, and she responded that evening! The only strange thing that happened was the heat kicked on at 4am to 75 degrees, not sure why, but this woke me up because I was in a sauna! I turned it down and walked outside for a few minutes to cool off! The nest was programmed, so I am not sure why this automatically kicked on. Also the towels were pretty dingy and smelly. Not really an issue because I had a beach towel in my truck, but I thought I would mention it as a 'nice to have' fresh towels in the future.

Loved in past, a little less this time around
We’ve stayed here in the past several times and loved it but this time felt like it was more neglected than in the past. Windows didn’t open well and/or were glued together, blinds were almost all broken, the kitchen table was broken, and the sink smelled. We asked the owner to turn the motion activated light off the smoke detector because it kept us up at night, and we didn’t get a response. We love the location and the affordable price for a dog friendly cabin. We missed having two couches for 4 guests. We sincerely love this place and have recommended it to friends, but think the owner may need to visit soon for a mini facelift.

Cute little getaway for a weekend vacation
We stayed in this quaint mini cabin that was real cozy for our 4 person family and two Huskies. Our only complaint was there wasn't an enclosed space for the dogs to run freely, but luckily there was a dog park close by!
The area is beautiful, quiet, and right next to a cute strip of restaurants and shops. Overall, it was a great snowy getaway for our family!

2 Couples in one cabin
We had a great time at your cabin, it had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves! It is a bit small if you are 6 foot 7 like me and our other guest however it wasn't much of an issue, just the occasional head getting bumped. Love it overall though, will gladly come back next year!

Cozy and close to town
We had a great stay at Cubby Bear Cabin. It felt like a home away from home. The loft was perfect for our 2 kids who loved spending time up there. We were always warm and comfortable and it was great place to land after a day of outdoor activity. We even brought our 2 small dogs who also felt right at home. Thanks for a great stay!

Not so good
This property is right next to similar properties in a very tight array. This is problematic when the neighbors are loud and when the mechanical units (HVAC or something) next door start rattling and wake you up several times during the night.
The unit is tiny and that became a problem when I cooked scrambled eggs. A few seconds after adding butter to the hot pan a voice came through the smoke alarms saying the alarm was about to sound. There was no visible smoke but, in such a small area, there was enough to trigger the pre-alarm. I opened the tiny kitchen window and everything seemed fine. After checking out, the owner sent a message that she was retaining $50 of our security deposit to clean up excessive grease, noting the alarm. Keep in mind that I only cooked eggs, not bacon or sausage (ie nothing greasy save for the pad of butter). This feels cheap and like nickel and diming to me. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Not the kind of experience I want to repeat, so I can not recommend this property.

Very Cute Cabin, Close to Shops, Not Far from the Lake
Really cute cabin! Small, but fully stocked. We had a great time. Our dog loved it there too. Would recommend. Thanks!

If you want rustic accommodations
Wasn't for me. We were there with another couple so sleeping upstairs where you couldn't even stand up...awkward. The cabin really wasn't very clean. That basic item was a turn off for me. They could do so much more to make it appealing. At least it was close to amenities. It was a cabin. Given those expectations still would have loved clean windows, dusting, cob web removal.

Cozy, small, cute, convenient location
My family with 2 boys(12 and 8) stayed this cabin over the July 4th holiday weekend.
The location is really convenient to go to Reiley's grocery store, and Tahoe key beach. The cabin is located in Y-camp ground and this cabin is mobil home.
It's very organized, cozy, and cute.
My boys enjoyed sleeping attics which has two beds( actually mattresses).
The cabin has everything we need to sleep and eat. My family like to cook rather than eating outside. So we cooked breakfast and lunch. They have enough cooking stuff for family of 4.
There were few things we were not happy.
1. The WIFI was not working even though they advertised they have one. We contacted the owner and she responded very quickly. However, she could not help it because of her family event.
2. There were some mouse drops under neath the kitchen sink. The house was very clean and neat, but this hidden space made me disappoinred.
3. Since the neighbors are pretty close each other, you can hear your neighbor very well , especially with windows open in summer.
Overall it's very convenient and the owner always responded quickly.

Great cabin!
My husband and I stayed in the cabin with another couple for the holidays and Hillary’s cabin had everything we needed, we had a great time. The cabin was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The bedding is nice as well, besides the low ceiling in the loft we were able to sleep very well.
The cabin is close to Heavenly and downtown, so it is good for who is planning to spend the day skiing. It was really good to come back to the cabin and stay near the fireplace after a long day of snowboarding.
Hillary promptly responded to our reservation and all questions. I would definitely consider booking it again in the future and recommend to my friends.

Cozy cabin for our 2nd Honeymoon
My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary weekend with a two-night stay at the Cubby Bear cabin. I literally squealed in delight at it's charm as soon as we stepped inside. Very comfortable and "homey" feeling. We spent most of our time out and about - enjoyed a dinner cruise to Emerald Bay on the M.S. Dixie paddle boat, explored the local flea market, took a drive out to Fallen Leaf Lake, jet skied on Lake Tahoe, and found lots of great places to eat. (Go to the Lucky Beaver Grill for the best burgers!) When we were indoors we enjoyed movies and games in the cozy living area. Nice sized master bedroom, though I have to say the futon bed took some adjusting to the first night. And I have to add, nice HOT showers! It's the perfect size for a couple to getaway or stay with a few little ones. (Adorable "mini" loft upstairs!) Thank you Hilary for sharing your little piece of cabin heaven with us!

Perfect for a family
My family and I had a great time in your cabin. Thank you for being easy to deal with and for ensuring the cabin was clean and comfortable. Our kids loved the loft and we all loved the peaceful location tucked in the back among the trees. Next time we go back, yours will be the first property I check for availability. Thanks again for helping make a great vacation.
