We stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary! Pictures do not do justice. A wonderful, cute little place and we’ll equipped. The hosts left us wine and cheese for our visit and even surprised us with a. few pumpkins from their garden. Will be staying again next year!

If you need lodging in the area, definitely stay here! It’s roomy and comfortable and so clean. The host has gone above and beyond in making it the perfect stay, with thoughtful touches everywhere. The bed is very comfortable with nice linens; lots of fluffy towels; the cheese and crackers and wine was especially appreciated on arrival. There are just too many things to list! Added to it all are gorgeous mountain views from every window. Definitely stay here - you’ll be glad you did. I sure was!

Great property, owners are very responsive. They have a lot of nice touches in the apartment (cable, hospitality items, etc.). It's a good location-close to 66 and has a nice senic route too. Close to alot but well out of the way so you can get away. Pet friendly too. I would highly recommend this rental.

We once again enjoyed our stay - a lovely getaway as well as a great area!

Very spacious area, great and safe place for your dogs to run around. The land was well kept. The landscaping was very pretty. We loved the giant sunflowers and hummingbird feeders. The hosts had two bottles of wine, cheese and crackers and chocolate waiting for us. We had a wonderful time and so did our three dogs. James and Darlene responded to any of our requests immediately. They love pets and even had dog toys for them in the guest house. We really enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful and quiet property! We'll be back!

It was great to be back at this property again! First time staying with 3 folks and the pull out couch worked out great for our group. The hosts here are a delight to chat with, and the location cannot be beat. Already have plans to return next season. ☺️

Simply wonderful stay! First time using VRBO and lucked out with the best hosts!!! They left us lovely goodies in the rental and provided a warm welcome and great conversation throughout our stay. Wonderful property and beautiful surrounding area full of things to do. 100% recommend.

Couldn’t ask for two kindest host!! The Tudor Cottage was extremely quiet and relaxing and, the view from cottage was breathtaking!! I have stayed in many Verbo’s and, the Tudor Cottage is by far one of the nicest places I have ever stayed!!

very quiet and peaceful, the owners are incredibly nice and enjoy chatting when I saw them in passing. the outside area is perfect for a couple to enjoy time outside and the loft has everything you need, plus all the snacks and wine that the owners leave as a gift.

My husband and two pups LOVED staying at James' house. From the view, outside patio where the pups could run around, close proximity to wineries, well appointed carriage house (full size appliances, w/d, etc), to even a wonderful conversation with James and his wife, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. If we're ever back in VA, we will stay here again.

Another wonderful stay in a great property with gorgeous sunset views and wildlife!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It seemed brand new and was spotless. As noted by other reviewers, the hosts left a myriad of snacks, which was a really nice touch. We look forward to staying at the cottage again and hope the kitchen is a bit better equipped next time - specifically larger bowls for breakfast, dry measuring cups, and measuring spoons. During our short visit, we had a delicious meal at Field & Main in Marshall, hiked in the Shenandoah, and visited Patrick O'Connell's new bakery in Washington (highly recommend all of the above).

This is such a wonderful place to stay! The property owners are very hospitable. They treat you like family visiting. The house is clean and was stocked with wine, snacks, coffee, etc. We were even gifted with cute fall pumpkins and a gourd. We would highly recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay! The owners were very accommodating and nice. There was a power outage that they warned us about ahead of time and offered a full refund. We declined and the power was back on well within the expected time. The place was very clean, quiet, and perfect for what we were looking for. Thank you for the wine and snacks, and the pumpkins were such a thoughtful touch. We'd stay here again!

This house was so clean and well appointed. Probably the best rental we’ve had in a long time. Great for the dogs as well — lots of room to play and explore. We will be back! :)

This property is super cute. It was off the beaten path but pretty clean and well maintained. The reason I am giving it 3 overall stars is because of the water on the property. It is well water which if it has a good filter is not an issue but in this case it did not. If you ran any water for longer than 5 seconds the smell of sulfur would immediately fill your nose. While taking a shower I became nose blind to it but my husband had to open all the windows and we left for a couple hours. Again the property was clean but the smell of the water was something I could not deal with.

This is an amazing property. It is in an absolutely beautiful area with the most amazing view. It was the perfect spot to stay while we explored Shenandoah National Park.

My wife and I stayed for about a week with our young poodle. It was lovely and we are looking forward to our next visit. Close enough to DC and to the major roads that getting there was easy. But the property itself is set well back from the local road and bounded by soybeans. So our dog could run around, bark at stuff and just have fun, and we were not at all worried about his safety because the road was a quarter mile away. The guest house was very clean, and uncluttered, which we loved. The couch was very comfy, and there was seating at the kitchen table and the kitchen counter. Bedroom was cozy with a wooden frame bed and nice quilt. Our hosts came over to meet us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. They also left us some treats: wine, chocolate, cheese and crackers - really nice welcoming gesture we thought. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, tableware and cookware for cooking at home during our stay. We didn't watch tv during our stay, but both bedroom and living room had medium-sized (by today's standards) flat screens. The area had a number of fun activities available. Hiking and sightseeing in the Shenandoah National Park of course, but also nice little wineries and cideries in the area. And maybe 30 min away is a functioning drive-in movie theater. For supplies, there is a walmart and a target 15-20 min away. Not sure what else I can say other than that we liked it so much that we're already looking forward to our next visit for a relaxing break from the city. Only two concerns I mention for those with special needs: 1. The accommodations are on the upper floor of the guesthouse (first floor is a garage), and you'll have to use stairs. 2. If you really need a solid, high-speed internet connection, it might be problematic. For us, our cell carrier (verizon) was fine - streamed a show on data, no problem. But for our work computers, which used the wifi connection to the hosts' satellite internet service, our experience was mixed. My wife was able to use her VPN with no issues. Mine on the other hand would connect but was very slow, so I could email, but web browsing was unreliable. FWIW, the weather was pretty cloudy and stormy during our stay and that might have affected the satellite internet service.
