We came for a wedding. The bicentennial inn was just as expected. There are two full baths, a half bath and four sleeping areas. One of the full baths is located in the basement. There are two queen size beds located on the second floor. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms - one bedroom has an attached full size bath. There is also a half bath located on the first floor. There is a small kitchen, a living area, and a dining room. It is located in a very quaint neighborhood, quiet and clean. Loved hearing the church bells. It is an old house as expected but it is clean and well-maintained. Steve is very easy to get a hold of and was accommodating for an earlier check-in. The main hotel is just a couple blocks away where they have Continental breakfast.
If we return to the area, I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

If it’s historical you are looking for then this is it. It’s an old house built small and cramped. The beds weren’t great and when you walked down the steps from the top level to the main a couple of the steps felt like they would break then once you reached the bottom step the top step creaked hard as if someone was coming down behind you. What wasn’t historic was the internet because it was super fast. They ask you to keep your dog out of the main dining room but there are no doors to the room so we had to position chairs to act as barriers. The paper products like paper towels and toilet paper were the cheapest you can buy. Just because it’s historic doesn’t mean you have to give the first paper products ever invented. In all fairness we weren’t staying there for the historical element as we were traveling the country and were just stoping for a few days to rest.

Myself, my sister and a good friend and our husbands all met in Hermann for a summer get away. We stayed 3 nights and had so much fun! The covered carport served as our place to hang out in the evenings to talk, drink and unwind. We enjoyed the wineries and distilleries in the area. Biking the Katy Trail was amazing too!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It offers plenty of space. House was overall clean and maintained. It is located in a convenient location. Ample parking. Easy communication with host/staff. Availability to inn amenities such as breakfast, shuttle service, etc was also super convenient.

Exactly what expected. Owner of the property was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Location to wineries and bars was perfect.

Perfect location
The property is the perfect location for the Herman wine trails. The property was very clean and was perfect for a girl's weekend of shopping and wineries!
The only thing I would recommend is that the owners need to place a space heater in the basement bathroom. It is the newest remodeled bathroom and is very nice, but it was pretty cold in the basement and there is no heater in the bathroom.

Great place to feel at home away from home.
This is the second time this year we have stayed here. Just a few blocks from main activities and shops. We walked everywhere being we had great weather for November. The downstairs family room is the best to chill and play games with family and friends, being alot of the busel of Hermann seems to subside around 5pm.

I received no check in information from the property manager until I contacted him through VRBO on the day of arrival to let him know we would be arriving in Hermann 2 hours prior to check in. He responded promptly to let me know the house would not be ready until the normal checkin of 3 pm. He also said that we would not be checking in at the house but at a different address (a hotel) in downtown Herman not far from the house. . We went to a winery and enjoyed a wine tasting. We went to the hotel at 3 pm and were told that the house was not ready but would be in 10 minutes. We finally received the keys at 3:25.
Arrival at the house: The house is well landscaped from the front. There is a nice covered parking area but there were 2 very large trash cans filled to overflowing in the parking area, which were not emptied until our last day at the house.
The house Description states there are 3 bathrooms. There are actually 2.5 bathrooms. 1.5 bathrooms on the main level. One is in the basement with nicely renovated shower. One of the 2 main level mattresses needs to be replaced but the other was comfortable. Hangers in the closets would be helpful. Furniture in living room was austere with 2 wing backed chairs that looked like they were probably from the 1970s (it is the Bicentennial house!) and a couch. There is a TV in the living room and in the basement, but we did not use either of these.
The basement has a ping-pong table, which we really enjoyed. There is a kitchen table and chairs in the basement and a well-used couch.
The kitchen has a mishmash of dishes and unmatched silverware. There is no dishwasher and no dish drainer . Plenty of silverware for 4 people if you wash after each use but not enough for 8 people. The refrigerator has to be closed firmly or the door pops open. No ice maker but there are ice trays.
There is a nice covered sitting area with a patio table and chairs at the side of the house. We Even though it was quite hot while there, we enjoyed sitting there in the evenings as there was a nice breeze on the porch.
The house, which is located 2 miles from the Katy Trail, is near the top of a hill which is quite a challenge on a bicycle. The hotel on market street has a locked bike storage area, which we really appreciated. We locked our bikes there nightly and DROVE up that big hill in our cars!
At check-out there was a bowl where we were told to drop our house keys, so no one to talk to about our experience.

Good Experience
Everything was great and the people of Herman are so nice! We loved using the taxi and our driver, Jake was awesome!
The only improvements that need to be made are better beds and better towels! The beds were hard and the towels were rough. Everything else was phenomenal! Would still rent again!
