Zamia Hostel

hostel is part of a cafe - main hostel spaces are behind common area (some access shared with cafe), garden, upstairs common area (breezier), kitchen (also saw cafe personnel there w some supplies). dorm: nice enough bunks with power outlet near, lockers - glad that 6 bed dorm has a window, in the humid Bucaramanga climate - still a hot sleep on every night location is very comfortable area: many eating place, boutique shops, further along is supermarket and then larger exito supermarket. street is reasonably quiet? good that dorms are at quieter rear rating 8 as good but could be sharper

poor hostel introduction: no mention of upstairs 'terrace' space, kitchen, no indication of cafe next door surrounding reception - kitchen has usual 'mark food' sign but no marker pen avail there - wifi signs difficult to read password - showers good but curtain is removed, so to keep things dry you have to position on the 2 hooks - trim the plants at hostel entry and along the sidewalk in front - seems to be several volunteers: the Colombians aren't as friendly as vols from other countries; in dorms, vols seem to claim bunks - they should be put in a separate room

Cool hostel with a cafe besides it. Strong wifi and kitchen available for cooking. Plenty of space for chill out at the 1st floor. The host is chill and easy going. Toilets are clean

The 4 bed dorm only has a tiny window and hence it gets really hot in the afternoon.

Area felt safe, 8 lockers in the room for 6 beds so good amount of space to store things, there’s a terrace with a few chairs and space to hang your wet clothes.

The room was dark and smelled strongly of a mix of humidity and body odor, even though there were no other guests. There was a couch in a common room which had some nasty stains. The pictures on the website don’t reflect what the room really looks like.

The area is great. Hostel has well stocked kitchen and quiet after 9 pm.

The rooms are super hot. We left the door open as the fan could push the air out. Bunk beds could use some curtains.
