We booked this home for my parents to stay during our wedding weekend. It was a quick walk to Jimmy's On Congress for our reception as well as walkable to just about everything in town. Its an older building with a great feel. We'll definitely be staying here for future trips into town!

Looking like it could be house from Strawberry Banke on the outside, it was creatively renovated and was a modern, comfortable house on the inside. Wonderful location for walking through downtown Portsmouth and quick access over the river to Kittery Maine. Due to an ice storm on Christmas Day, all of our plans were cancelled, but did not feel deprived. We had a lovely day staying in the house and really appreciated that the owners had put up a Christmas tree and holiday decorations!

The house had plenty of room for two couples. It was a quick walk to many restaurants and stores. We also walked to the boat cruise. The house had a spacious leaving room and large master bedroom with a walk-in shower. The kitchen was nice too. There is construction going on right next door. It started at 6 am during the wee. But otherwise we had a nice stay.

This house was very spacious and in a very good location to downtown shops and restaurants. We just had a couple of issues. First, there is construction happening on two sides of the house, so early morning cranes and building noises. Second, the living room couch needs to be redone. A little uncomfortable to sit or lie down, as it is a sleeper sofa and the ribs dig in. You need to use various remotes to work the TV's, which got a bit confusing, but not too bad. And if you are staying with young children or elderly parents, be aware that the bedrooms are on the second floor and loft and the stairs are narrow and steep. But the bedrooms are very comfortable. All in all, a very nice house to stay and go about your daily vacation schedule!!

We loved this property because it offered a great location in town, plus very nice interior spaces for our family. The living room sectional was big enough for our five adults to all be comfortable, while watching a family movie. The owners made us feel welcomed, with pretty holiday decorations, including a tree and lights.
The kitchen was perfect for eating and preparing meals and snacks. I would recommend this property, and would love to return.

We give the location 4 stars only because of the construction going on right next to the house. We heard heavy equipment very early in the morning. Other than that, kitchen is well equipped and updated. Bathrooms updated as well. The house is comfortable and bedrooms are roomy. Our 2 grandchildren loved being in the loft. I would say that the stairs are a bit steep for older persons. The most important, however, is the excellent communication we had with the owner who addressed a couple of issues immediately! Thank you, EJ!

My boyfriend and I stayed here over Thanksgiving week and we loved our stay! Plenty of space to relax and play games. We were even able to prepare a Thanksgiving feast in the spacious and well-stocked kitchen. We loved being able to explore the downtown area and walked everywhere! EJ was extremely responsive and a fantastic host. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect location for families to walk to enjoy historic downtown Portsmouth. The house is equipped with almost every amenity we could think of for cooking and relaxing with our crew. Mixed results
We had mixed feelings about this property. On the plus side it was centrally located , clean when we arrived, and spacious. But there were several glitches that took the glitter off. First and foremost, we were locked out of the property twice and had to call the owner to come and let us in. I am sure he thought we were at fault (even though he admitted they had experienced this problem previously), and we ultimately determined that the culprit was a door latch that was only attached by one loose screw. The owner should have immediately arranged for a locksmith to fix it, but instead scheduled the fix for turnover (I.e. after we left and of no help to us). We were forced to tape the latch open during our stay. Second issue concerned parking. Although previous reviews stated there was plenty of parking available at a nearby public lot, we never found this to be the case. This lot was almost always full and we had to scramble to find a free spot. Last, of lesser importance but still annoying, several light fixtures had burned out bulbs (e.g. in the master bath, next to the bed in the master bedroom, etc.)

Great location and accommodations
The house was lovely.....clean and well equipped. It was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. It is in walking distance of downtown Portsmouth shopping and dining. Prescott Park is also a short walk and we were able to enjoy a picnic dinner and free concert Wednesday night. We were very pleased with our stay at this property.

Amazing Home in Perfect Location
We loved this restored home. All the modern amenities including a fabulous kitchen and nice bathrooms. The powerful air conditioning keep us nice and cool on the few hot August days.
You cannot beat the downtown location. Walked to everything! Prescott Park, Farmer’s Market, kayaking, Kittery Foreside, and all restaurants & shopping.
Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
