We spent 2 weeks on this beautiful island. The condo location is great & owner Shawn was very quick to respond to texts questions. The bathroom & kitchen have been newly renovated as described & are very nice. The major fault with the unit is the horrible bed & the reason it’s not a 5 rating. The bedding is so worn & frayed that the bottom sheet & mattress pad all come loose every night and end up in a big wad in the middle of the mattress. The bed creaks like an old floor that even ear plugs can’t drowned out. My husband & I are small people, but larger folks would have a very difficult time finding any comfort at all on this mattress. Of lesser note, there are no measuring cups in the kitchen, only one small saucepan, the can opener doesn’t work & there are no freezer glasses as noted in the info materials. No dish soap was provided, only for the dishwasher & no condiments available - even salt & pepper. There are two beach chairs provided but one is rusted through & broken. We travel with our own snorkeling gear but there are many sets provided in the unit. The checkout process is wonderful!! The cleaning fee charged actually provides the cleaning & you just lockup & return the key to the office. Most other VRBO rentals we’ve done charge the fee but expect you to do the majority of the cleaning before you depart. We’d definitely visit again & will recommend the unit to friends & family but only with a bed update.

The property was a good size for just the 2 of us. The owner and property manager were responsive to our needs/requests. The unit was decorated nicely and we appreciated the snorkeling available for our use. We were disappointed to find the onsite restaurant closed for maintenance during our trip.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to St. Croix. The condo was clean, quaint, and updated with all the amenities. We were disappointed that the beach was covered with seaweed at least a 100ft out into the water. However, there are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby and it was fun to venture out and see new places everyday. We felt very safe and everyone was extremely friendly. We ventured to the boardwalk in nearby Christiansted several times and loved going to Buck Island on Big Beards snorkeling tour, took a boat across to Hotel on the Cay where we could enjoy the beach and drinks, drive over to Frederikstead where the beaches are pristine. Renting a car is a must and was so easy to book ahead of time and pick up and drop off at the airport. I would visit again and would highly recommend staying at Steven’s place even though the resort amenities / beach weren’t the highlight of our vacation.

We went to St Croix to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. This condo was the easiest part of our trip. Fantastic communication, kind and helpful staff, amazing views, and very clean.

Shawn was an amazing host! I had questions before check in, during stay, and at check out, and he was prompt and more than helpful with responses. The room was perfect. I love how updated it feels. The use of higher end finishes for all the tile work and countertops really makes you feel like you are at a fancy place (it is!). It was also very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked for our needs, cookware, blender, fun cups! I really wanted a blender to make fun beachy drinks. It even had two coolers and Tupperware to pack lunches on the go. The bed was very comfy and they provided extra pillows. Towels were plentiful for the two of us. The bathroom boasted the same great updated feel with great tile work in the shower and higher end finishes for countertop. There was also shampoo, conditioner, and soap for us to use. I will miss waking up to the spectacular view of the ocean every morning. There are pool noodles and multiple sets of snorkel gear. We used them everywhere. Took them to Frederiksted where we saw sea turtles, used them outside the condo on the beach, hiked to snorkel at jacks and issacs beach, even took them on our Buck island tour because they were really nice sets. The staff was so friendly when we arrived. Everyone that lives there was also very nice, willing to give tips on fun things to do around the island. The restaurant and pool onsite we only used once. But wish we had more time to utilize it more! The food was great, we had the Creole snapper with seasoned rice and vegetables. What ever they are serving….get the seasoned rice! Another great bonus of this listing is that there was no formal checkout list like most VRBO‘s have. It was relaxing to just be able to leave day of departure. We did make sure to do our dishes, take out the trash,and not leave wet towels in a pile. But there was no formal cleaning list and also not very high cleaning fees either! It really helped to take the stress out of the day. Everything was amazing I definitely will be staying here again in the future. I have no complaints whatsoever everything was purely amazing. I can’t wait to come back.

I traveled to St. Croix alone; therefore I wanted to stay in a location that was safe and close to the beach. The onsite property management staff were incredibly helpful! The night manager helped me bring in luggage and groceries. The day manager offered great suggestions on places to visit in town. The beach was serene and quiet. Plenty of seating at different times of the day. Groundskeepers worked throughout the day to maintain the seaweed. The onsite restaurant (no longer called Breezes) served delicious food and drinks. Staff were courteous and attentive. The condo was cleaned very well prior to my visit. The kitchen was well-appointed, the fridge was empty and spotless, plenty of plastic containers to pack snacks for the beach, and the air conditioner was quiet and cools the space quickly. The bathroom was incredibly clean. The walk in shower is very spacious, great water pressure, and the water stayed hot the entire shower. Plenty of drawers to store toiletries. - Things to take note of, but did not affect my stay: 1. There is a window in the bathroom that faces the hallway of the building. Something to be mindful of at night. 2. Bottles of water and snacks were not provided, as the description indicated; so be sure to stop at the market prior to arriving. Luckily I had groceries, so this wasn't a concern for me. 3. Beach towels were not provided in the unit, as the description stated, but there were plenty with the property manager. 4. I wanted a tech free vacation, so I didn't bring my laptop to watch movies. The available TV stations all had static so I watched shows on my cell phone while eating. - Communication with Shawn Prior to booking, prior to arrival, and during the trip- Shawn answered all of my questions timely and efficiently. I had to shorten my trip and Shawn was very understanding. - Why four stars? Simple: the bed. As previous posters have mentioned, the bed is not comfortable at all. The bed squeaks when sitting on it and when moving during sleep. The box spring has noticeable brown stains on all sides. Between the mattress and box spring are sheets of plywood. The mattress itself is quite thin and flimsy. I did not sleep comfortably, instead I slept on the couch. Would I return to this condo again if I travelled solo, yes; but with the expectation to sleep on the couch if the bed is not replaced with something more comfortable. Overall, a great visit and location! Will return!

This was a beautiful property with a very long barrier reef perfect for snorkeling. The beach could be cleaned of rocks and the bed could be comfier. Otherwise it's a great place.

Apartment had all that was needed but would have liked more wash clothes & towels for the 7 days so we didn’t have to bother Shawn. Used the Google maps to find our way around so traveling by car was good to a point. There are few and far between street signs. Could not locate Rainbow beach even with maps. But that was ok. We cooked most nights at home but Breezez was a great place to eat. Would definitely return to this place in the future

After reading the prior reviews I have to say many are spot on! We stayed 7 days and didn’t have any problems at all! Yes the sliding door was janky, and yes the appliances were outdated and rusty but they worked. We came to St. Croix for the island and all that it has to offer. If you want a 5 star facility this is not it. Saying that you get what you pay for. We never felt unsafe in the area. The Breezez restaurant is ok, nothing great. The air worked for us, and the place was clean for the most part and no insect problems. The hot water is a problem .... if you take more than a 3 minute shower it will be a cold one. Also you have to pay ($10.00/per day) for new towels if you want clean ones. (Clean beach towels were provided at no cost... so we took advantage of that.) We stayed at this owners villa on St. Thomas and were very satisfied with it as well. Shawn was very good to us and we appreciated his hospitality. I have never met him. We communicated by one phone call and several texts. He checked in with us making sure everything was ok and giving us recommendations on what to do and see. Also a gps is a must on this island and St. Thomas. Their road signs need some attention. We used our gps in conjunction with the island maps provided by the Jeep rental. I wouldn’t hesitate renting this condo again.

Long and short- you don’t know me and I don’t know you and neither of us knows Shawn the owner. I’m not a fan of social media-type ratings for this reason alone. However, HomeAway and the online community have not failed until now. Previous ratings and photos led us to chose this property. After booking, two reviews came in that were disturbing and in our discussions amongst ourselves, with HomeAway and Shawn (basically a rock and a hard place) we decided to give Shawn the benefit of the doubt. Yes he showed us work orders that he AC & garbage disposal were fixed and upon arrival we could see both sides of the story. It was not dirty, just a poor choice of tile and caulking, the ac worked, the door slid fine. It is not 5-Star, but it’s what we were hoping it would be upon arrival to relax for vacation. Then my husband pulled the sheets back. The mattress and box spring had ants! Ants everywhere. I called Shawn and left a message to call me. I messaged him with a few photos (Internet was spotty and only one came thru). Also asked him to call me. We went to the bar to discuss our options. We are not unreasonable, but sleeping with any sort of visible critter in your bed is not an option. While at the bar Shawn texted he had not seen that before but tomorrow go down and see the management and they will sort. A second text said isn’t the view incredible. Here is where I drew the line. It is his place - why am I going to the reservations desk and telling them about this problem? Shouldn’t he? His lack of awareness was shocking. And sorry I missed the view I was looking at pests in the bed!! We found another place for the night to assess. He was accommodating at first and after we spoke with HomeAway at length. But all he said he would do wasn’t done. And in the end we found other accommodations spent twice as much and despite the start had a wonderful time. Mind you if you contact Shawn, like we did, about the poor reviews he blames the other customers - “oh they wanted to stay elsewhere so they tried to blackmail me to get their money back”. Was one of the stories he told me. So take your chances if you will, but as a customer you only have your vacation time to lose and not have fun if you stay here. And didn’t you work too hard to not come to St Croix and have an amazing time? And oh by the way if you do call him and he says I only have one photo of three ants. Ask yourself are three Ants more or less acceptable then Zero ants in your bed?

Had a very enjoyable stay. Everything was great. Exactly as described. Condo was very neat, clean,had everything needed for nice stay. It is a little older community but very well kept and updated. Condo great. Pool great Beach and view beautiful. Not sure what those reviews saw, but was nothing like I experienced. Thank You, St Croix

My wife and I checked in to this condo November 5th, 2018 to find it FAR from what is advertised here. To start, the condo is in a sketchy part of town, with government housing 1/4 mile in either direction. The security shutters and comments from the on site manager and security person verified this was not a secure area (my wife runs daily and it was recommended by the manager to not run in either direction from the condo). We found the condo to be in VERY poor repair. The A/C unit blew only cool (not cold), humid air. The sliding door frame to the patio was bent 3/4 of an inch, allowing outside air and mosquitos inside and created a loud howling noise when the breeze picked up. It had rained and the patio held over an inch of standing water, rendering it useless to sit outside. The hot water heater did not work for more than 2 minutes both times we attempted showers. There were roaches in the kitchen and in the bathroom sink. The tile floor was filthy. The kitchen fridge was missing the door handle, the kitchen sink and dishwasher were rusty, the front door did not seal and bugs were coming in under it, etc. I could go on-there is more-but I think you get the idea. We contacted Shawn the owner and requested a refund but received only a "sorry you are not happy" response via text, he refused to speak with us in person. Overall, I can't see how anyone would be happy in this condo. We checked out after only one night of the 5 we had paid for. I had hoped to work something out with the owner to no avail. I just read another, similar review to this one from a client who had stayed here in October 2018. Sounds like this is common feedback....

The only good thing about this condo was the view, everything else..just wow, and not in a good way. When we arrived the floors were filthy, the garbage disposal was broken and had gnats coming out of it and food stuck in it. The air conditioning unit was not turned on outside when we arrived so we spent our first night, after an already stressful and long day of traveling, hot and very disappointed that we had actually paid money for this. Entire condo is dark, dingy, and SERIOUSLY in need of updating, pictures are deceiving, extremely tight space too. I should have looked at the pictures closer..studio set up, no separated bedroom. Hot water in shower does not last, bugs in bathroom. Entire condo building itself is OKAY-views and beach access are great and the on site restaurant/bar was okay at best. Overall, I would not stay here again and I do not recommend.
