Our dog joined us on our little get-away. Pauline was a great hostess, greeting us upon our arrival and giving Lucy treats, each time she saw her. And, she was anxious to walk Lucy for us when we were out antiquing, shopping or eating.
The accommodations were cozy and comfortable. Just the right size for the two of us. It was a little too chilly to sit on the screened porch, but that was quite alright. I'm sure in warmer weather it would have been a delightful space to relax. Pauline's gardens are beautiful and the fenced yard was a great place for Lucy to run and get some exercise.
We had a grand time! Would like to return.

Pauline was an excellent hostess…. She made sure that I had everything I needed and more . This little gem is packed full of charm and beauty ! The gorgeous garden and property was just what needed to refresh and unwind …. I’ll definitely be staying here again 😊

We hadn't been to the region in over 5 years, but finding Pauline's place to stay helped to make us feel a warm welcome back! The cottage is in a wonderful location, was clean and well appointed. My dog enjoyed a home-baked special pumpkin and peanut butter treat upon arrival and as we were preparing to leave. The gardens and fully fenced in back yard gave the dog some fun places to explore and a beautiful site to our eyes too! We will gladly stay here again when we are able to return to Niagara on the Lake!

Wow beautiful octave in great location. Enjoyed the beautiful garden. Homeowners were very gracious. Great location to downtown NoL and wineries.

This is a delightful gem. If you were looking for something sleek and modern, then this would not be suitable but for those looking for a place with character and wonderful gardens to enjoy, then this is the place to be.

The description of the site matched exactly as how we found the place. Great for 3-4 people. Everything we needed was supplied. The sun room/car port provided a lovely space for extra room when we had friends visit for a couple of hours. We did need to drive to town as the walk was too much for us. Pauline was a lovely host and allowed us to check out a little later which was nice.

At first I thought it would be a difficult unit to truthfully evaluate as we had just come from a super modern unit north of Toronto with all mod-cons, super big TV, washer/dryer etc to Pauline's unit which is almost the opposite. The unit is bijou, probably overfurnished for its size. The bedrooms are quite "cosy" and the unit is, I would say, more suited to 2 people rather than 4 but if a couple with small children it could be OK. Without doubt the unit is clean and very well equipped. The TV is small but anything bigger would not suit the size of the rooms. There is AC in one bedroom which would be a bit on the noisy side if running during the night and the WiFi was quite weak. The "CarPort" I think should be renamed. It's a very large area previously used as a car port but now transformed into a very large relaxing / lounge area perfect for breakfast, lunch & dinner and, in reality, should be renamed "Conservatory" or something similar as its fully enclosed and furnished and never been used to shelter a car for many years. If there was a 4.5 star thats how I would rate it but as the rooms are small and the wifi weak it therefore has to be 4 stars.

Check in with Pauline was great, quaint and quiet location in NOTL

This English cottage was perfect for my husband, me, and our dog. Pauline went above and beyond to accommodate us. It was so clean and cozy. My dog loved the homemade biscuits! The English gardens outside are beautiful especially in the evening with the twinkling lights.
The screened-in carport is huge and perfect for relaxing or eating. The location is great for walking into town or walking nearby trails. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a nice stay at Pauline's unit this weekend. The rooms are on the small side, but it worked for our party of four. The gardens around the property are stunning! Because the weather was rainy, we used the seating and table in the carport/screen porch quite a bit.
The kitchen is very tiny, but we did make one dinner in it.
It was just far enough from downtown NOTL at about .8 mile for us to have to drive in to town.
Overall, it worked, but it's probably more comfortable for just two people.

Pauline was very friendly and made us and our 4 year old Bernedoodle feel very welcome. Homemade doggy bisquit for Sophie as soon as we arrived 😀. The property was beautiful and the backyard was very relaxing to wind down or plan the rest of your stay while the breeze rustles the leaves and greenery of the amazing backyard. We stayed for 2 nights and wished we booked a 3rd night but will definitely stay at Pauline's next year. Everything you need is within 1 to 5 km away. We went to a dog friendly pub close by and we golfed 9 holes the next day. Everything you need for your stay is available at Pauline's, plus wifi and cable tv with Crave which was a nice little bonus. The sunroom is very nice and relaxing too! Nothing but big thanks to Pauline and her husband. Tim, Gorete and Sophie...see you next year!

My sister and I spent two wonderful days together in Niagara on the Lake at Pauline's cottage. We followed the GPS directions and easily found her home. The suite is attached to her place with a lovely large vestibule greeting us as we entered. Very open and airy, with lots of seating and a perfect place for morning coffee. Pauline greeted us when we arrived, showed us the suite which wasbetter than we could imagine. Two beautifully decorated bedrooms, a livingroom, a fully supplied kitchen, and bathroom with towels galore. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and place to unpack and store our clothes.
Pauline decorated the suite very tastefully with pictures, trinkets, and items from around the world. Wifi worked well in the livingroom. She had books and maps available about NOTL and its surroundings. But the absolute best feature were her gardens. I have never seen such a beautiful, well kept, interesting backyard. There were walking paths, benches, trinkets and lushes plants wherever you looked. Alas, it had rained heavily prior to our arrival, so we could not sit out in the garden, but we were amazed at its beauty. Pauline is a superb host and if ever we are in the area, we definitely know where to stay.

Lovely location. Its great to visit Niagara Falls and wineries. Clean well looked after property. Would recommend for a couple and upto 2 children. Maybe 2 couples could be a bit cozy. The extension to stay in is at the back of the main cottage seen in the photo with 2 small cozy bedrooms, a neat like lounge and kitchenette and attached bathroom with a converted car port used as a living area which is very handy to sit out and relax. The garden area at the back is very nice as well. Overall a convenient and handy stay for 2-3 days.

Pulling up to Pauline’s home was a dream! Not only is her front yard beautiful but the very large backyard is just for guests of her rental. Her gardens feature several delightful areas in which to unwind. Let me tell you we sat out there every day. It was so peaceful after a day of touring and wine tasting.
Although the living quarters themselves were fairly small, there is a spectacularly large carport area that has been transformed into a beautiful extension of the home. There are lounge chairs, and a table for eating in the screened in carport, and several other seated places in which to relax.
The pictures shown in the listing are exactly how the place looks. We had a great time here and will definitely be back in the future.

We highly recommend this accommodation based on location to the downtown area of Niagara on the Lake, the quietness of the property, cleanliness, layout inside the property, excellent host that greeted us on arrival and the pricing.
This well exceeded our expectations.
Many thanks.

This little quaint cottage is just a perfect hideaway for our short stay, steps away from old town NOTL, with a large sunroom, fully fenced backyard and a small apartment with two cozy bedrooms for our exclusive use. Our host Pauline is very gracious and attentive, she kept the place in spectacular condition with all the amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. We are a group of 4 people with a puppy, and it couldn't be a better fit for our need. Oh, did mention our puppy Batu had an awesome time with extra pempring, biscuits and a "king size" bed for himself...we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will not miss another opportunity to go back...

My spouse and I spent a summer weekend at Alnwick Cottage with our dog. The cottage was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Pauline welcomed us upon arrival, and gave us a lovely tour of the cottage and garden. She also helped us find an outlet to plug in our EV. We enjoyed walking into Queen St for dinner, and strolling along the lake. And when the weather didn't allow for that, we relaxed in the enclosed carport with a warm cup of tea. Would love to visit again!

Pauline greeted us as soon as we arrived. She was friendly and very welcoming - especially to my westiepoo Toby. She immediately brought us to a stunning back yard garden for Toby to play in after a long drive. Actually stunning doesn’t begin to describe. The amount of work she has put into it is astonishing. We then went inside. The converted car port-now-sun room was beautiful. I could spend a summer in that room. She gave Toby some dog biscuits she made herself and then showed my mom and me to through the house addition where we stayed. It’s got all the amenities of home and was very comfortable. My mom and I enjoyed ourselves very much and had a great stay. Pauline gave us tips for things to do each day (and gave Toby more homemade dog biscuits too!) I would absolutely come back to stay again!

The large garden & screened in porch made this little property a wonderful place to stay. Located an easy walk to downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, this is a great option for small groups or couples with pets. The garden is completely fenced, and our 2 beagles and my mother-in-law loved it. The large, screened porch was a great place to hangout for meals or just to enjoy a relaxing evening. The lounge chairs make for great napping or extra sleeping areas on summer nights (I end up sleeping out there both nights of our stay, they were so comfortable). The kitchen, living room, bathroom and 2 bedrooms are very cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for meals. Pauline was well prepared for dogs with bowls, towels and a large dog bed. We had a great time and would totally recommend and stay again.

Pauline was a super host. She was so accommodating to us and our two pups to the point of welcoming them with homemade dog biscuits and having some for the every day! Decor is beautiful antique furnishings and nothing was left out for our convenience. The backyard is a large garden area of shrubs and paths with many chairs all around for seating. The location is a short walk to the main part of the town. We will definitely be back again.

We stayed here to see Niagara Falls. The house in Niagara on the lake is in a great location with a beautiful 20 minute drive to see the falls. It was nice to stay in a peaceful little town, and away from all the tourist attractions of the Niagara Falls area. The house was very clean. It is a great location and that it is close to restaurants and the down town area. The little town of Niagara on the lake is beautiful and the food in the area is excellent . Was nice that she had coffee available. we did very little cooking but everything you need. Is there if you want. The beds were a bit too firm for us. Pauline was very friendly and we had good communication with her.

The property is peaceful and well-cared for and exactly as advertised. The location is a walkable distance from the main town (tourist area) we loved the proximity to the other attractions and to the lake. The host, Pauline, was both generous and gracious beyond imagination.

Well-kept property with a lovely garden. It was too cool during our stay to enjoy the outside, but there is a wonderful sitting area and a well-kept garden to appreciate in warmer weather.
We were there for the Shaw Festival. The location is perfect, not only for the theater, but to enjoy all the other wonders in Niagara on the Lake

Pauline was a great host. She met us upon our arrival - which was late in the day - to personally show us around the cottage. The rooms are small but comfortable and well equipped. The cottage is close to town - about a 15 minute walk. We played golf twice - once at the Niagara on the Lake Golf Club and once at a course near Niagara Falls, then spent the afternoon in Niagara. We also went to the Butterfly Conservatory and took in two plays at the Shaw Festival. Lots of wonderful places to eat! A busy four days and a comfortable cottage to come "home" to.
