The property was close to the beach and the beach was a a very quiet, clean beach. However, the property description left out some important information. Directly next to the property is a house that is under full construction. Construction equipment and material is everywhere. They were constructing during the week we were there( which is not very relaxing while you are outside on the deck) . As you pull into the driveway there is a port-o-potty, not very appealing. When we were outside on the deck at night there were large cockroaches everywhere. Luckily I never saw any in the house. The last day of our stay an exterminator was sent over. The downstairs bedroom smelled extremely musty and the other bedroom was shown as bunk beds and that was not the case when we arrived. There was also a claim that I damaged the bed, which I didn’t, but assume when the bunk beds were dismantled by the owner it was damaged. The downstairs bathroom shower drain was stopped up. It was fixed but just another inconvenience. The outdoor shower is not private as they attached property has a window that looks down right into it. I would not recommend staying here as nice as the beach is.

I and my friend enjoyed our stay at the spacious house that was a few min away from the beautiful beach, just wanted to mention that the beach had no Boardwalk for those who need it, but for us it worked just fine since the beach was very clean, not crowded at all and close to the house we stayed in!

We had a delightful stay at the house in a quiet residential neighborhood, although there was daytime new construction occurring next door. The house is very clean and a great location 1.5 blocks from the beach. We could also walk to First Landing State Park. Pat is really good on communication. This was our second stay.

We really enjoyed our stayed in Virginia Beach. Pat did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our time. She was there within minutes when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. My only suggestions for improvement are that the downstairs bedrooms need new mattresses. The ones on there are extremely hard. Also, the main bedroom need new pillows. Otherwise, I thought the home was a good value for the highly sought-after North End.

We really enjoyed our stayed in Virginia Beach. Pat did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our time. She was there within minutes when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. This lovely home was tucked in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by trees. It is everything you see in the photos! Plenty of space for the 7 of us! There are towels, sheets, and beach towels so no need to pack these items. Our host was always easy to reach for questions which is very comforting! The beach is a short walk away. We did learn from the locals that you could park in the available spots down the road on the public road. We were careful not to take advantage of the parking, but when tired we would take a turn.

This beach house has many positives. It has 3 BR, 2BA, two living rooms, an outdoor upstairs deck, a very large parking area, carport, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a beach day. It is 1 1/2 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from a state park with lots of biking and hiking. One thing to note that we were surprised by is that the house is "A" and there is a "B" house that is semi connected. There is no way to enter the other property but we were surprised to find this out. We never heard the neighbors and it didn't affect us at all. Our only complaints are that the pillows in the upstairs bedroom were extremely uncomfortable and it would have been nice to have more bath towels and washcloths, and better beach towels. We had to do laundry a lot more than we wanted due to the 1 towel per person limit. We had an amazing week and would still highly recommend this place!

Nice beach house 1.5 block from ocean and close to State Park
The house was very clean and the check in process was easy. Pat communicated well with us. We had 4 adults and 2 children. Both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms have been updated. There is an outdoor shower. Only suggestions: cooking pots and pans could be improved and it is hard to have a family meal inside. We had bad weather and needed to eat inside. It would be nice to have grill on the deck.

Perfect beach getaway
Thank you for a great week away. The layout of the home worked well for our family of 6. We especially loved the outdoor space! Location was quiet and close to the beach. Pat was very responsive to emails before our trip and great to work with.

Quiet secluded home
We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying at this property. It’s on a quiet street away from all busy hotels, restaurants and shopping area. Major plus! The beach is great. We did also drive to Sandbridge twice where the water was quite a bit warmer and the beach was amazing. As parents we enjoyed having our master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and also on a different level to the kids. They had their own hang out area downstairs and their own bathroom. We would have loved to use the deck more but not having the bbq on the deck was a bit strange. I would also say this home would be very tight for 8 people, the living space with dining area and chairs and the kitchen seems best for 5-6 people max. We were a family of 5. But all in all we had a wonderful week and Pat was a super responsive and great host!

My family of 6 stayed here for the Shamrock Marathon weekend. This ended up being a great location for the race. The house was nice, clean, comfortable. Quiet area, close to the beach. Would highly recommend it!

Great home. Easily accommodated our family. Space well laid out for everybody to spread out but also enjoyed family time together. Good location with proximity to beach, First Landing State Park, the action of the boardwalk, and many of our favorite haunts in the Chicks Beach area.

Comfortable stay, great location
This was a perfect stay for our family over the Christmas holidays. The beds were very comfortable, the house nicely decorated and the kitchen stocked with all of the necessary utensils and appliances. The location right across from the Beach in the North End is great.

Our family really enjoyed our week in this house. There was plenty of room for 6 adults either to gather together or spread out, with the extra living room downstairs and the deck. The beds were comfy, the towels were plush, and everything was clean. We enjoyed the privacy of the deck with the trees surrounding it.
We had a great week with enough beach time despite the rain, and lots to do for the non-beach-goers in the group. We enjoyed the Aquarium and climbed to the top of the Cape Henry Light House. Of course, eating seafood is always a treat.

Great location, uncomfortable furniture
Pros: Wonderful location (adjacent to First Landing Park, easy walk to quiet section of beach, very quiet neighborhood, convenient to boardwalk/attractions). Bikers, walkers & runners will enjoy varied, beautiful, shaded trails in the park, paved trails beside roadways, and the boardwalk which is an easy bike ride from the house. Homeowner very accommodating & great responding to all communications. Convenient to boat launches in First Landing Park & Lynnhaven Inlet. North end of Va Beach is lovely & has a very different vibe than boardwalk area. Spacious house with very nice, shaded deck. Although homes are very close together, it feels private due to layout and landscaping. Owner provides lots of small convenience items. Highly recommend these waterfront restaurants on Lynnhaven Bay: Bubba's & Dockside.
Cons: Master bed too soft, very warm & bedding is actually noisy. Couch & living room chairs very uncomfortable & need cleaning. Kitchen items need replacing (dull knives, rusted cookie sheet, worn out nonstick skillet). Technically, there is a lot of parking space, but it was VERY difficult to park our boat & truck here-its fine for smaller vehicles. Requirements to rent this home are above & beyond any other vacation home we have rented in the past. VRBO added fees & price increases year after year after year...

A beautiful, secluded home in a very quiet neighborhood
My wife and I have been coming to Virginia Beach since 2006 and like a lot of people, we always just stayed at hotels near the main Oceanfront. But now with two kids, we started looking at more private lodging in recent years, away from the larger crowds and decided to give HomeAway a try. After reviewing different properties throughout the area, we came across this beautiful listing in the North Beach area and luckily, it was available!
The owner, Pat, was extremely responsive to any questions we had leading up to our arrival and absolutely delightful to work with. Upon arrival, we noticed how spacious and clean the home was, as well as all the extras provided that they didn't have to do, but were extremely appreciated, such as: well stocked toiletries, cooking utensils and equipment, bath towels and cloths, bedding etc.
There were a total of 7 of us staying this time ( my family of 4 and my wife's parents and brother). With the layout of the house, it was perfect because no one felt cramped and everyone had their own space. The backdeck was beautiful and private, being very nice to sit out on at night time to chat, as well as the outdoor shower unit being very nice once coming off the beach to rinse off.
There is literally nothing negative I could say about a single thing involved in this booking process from beginning to end. I would absolutely book again with Pat and this location without a second's hesitation.

Lovely home in a perfect location
We had a great week in this cute and very clean north end home. We loved the location which was a very short walk to the beach, bike ride away from the oceanfront, and walk or bike ride to First Landing State Park. Highly recommend to those looking to stay in a quiet neighborhood.

Adorable nestled in the trees!
It's tough to tell what the front of this house looks like because all you see is the lovely foliage. The furniture is new, spotless, and lovely, and the beds (and pillows) are comfy. With plenty of room for 3 teen boys and 2 parents, we could focus on hanging out together instead of arguing about space. The deck is heavenly and feels like you are in a treehouse!
The only things we could have used were some extra towels, paper towels, and some trash or plastic bags for dirty laundry. I didn't even get a chance to ask for those, I am sure if I had Pat would have gotten them!
The area of VA Beach was quiet, beautiful, an easy walk to the beach, and not at all crowded in mid April.
We will visit again the next time we're in town.
