The accommodation was not far from the town and there was a fantastic view of Lake Tekapo and the mountains from the loungeroom at the back of the house. You could even see the Church of the Good Shepherd between the buildings. We really appreciated the underfloor heating in the bathroom.

Just one small thing - there was a garage attached to the property and while it seemed empty, it was locked so we couldn't use it. It would have been very useful in protecting the car from icing up overnight. Otherwise, it's very comfortable and we had a very pleasant stay.

The check in process wasn't very straightforward and when we called the owner they were rude and unhelpful. The fire didn't work either as there was no control.

Easy self check-in. Apartment was clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. :)

Only downside was the dryer took too long to dry our clothes even after a two 3-hour cycle. We ended up having to bring home wet clothes. :(

The property was great! warm, clean, great location.

We arrived at the property at 3.15pm. it was only starting to be cleaned. The man said come back in an hour, we’re short staffed. His attitude was appalling. I phoned the host and they apologised allowing us a 11am checkout the next day.

The most horrible experience I ever had! Enji, the property manager is very rude and complete racist, and with no empathy! Our scheduled visit to Takapo had to be cancelled due to my daughter’s serious injury in Queenstown. I have tried my best to inform about our cancellation ASAP, which was 2 days before our booking, and Enji has agreed on refund for one night (as photo showed). I told him we have no mobile reception and no internet. At that moment I received the bank message that Rodman Star charged for 1 night expense, so I left the spot that we had driven all the way to contact this property, and I thought this issue has been solved. The second day this company has charged for another night (breaking his promise). Then I drove far to get mobile reception, leaving my injured daughter alone for a few hours, hoping to find out what happened. The thing was, after an hour we had that agreement, he sent me another message, saying that if I don’t confirm the cancellation, he is going to charge for another night (obviously knowing that I would not receive his message because I had no connection). This is totally a scam! A lie that he pretend to help but setting you up knowing that I’m a foreigner! The issue being, if he had ever told me at first that he was going to send another message (he’s not even sending a proper email but instead using that dodgy message function in the booking app), I would have waited at that spot and confirm that I was to cancel! Today I’m finally able call Enji. What he did was saying that he’s not going to refund me and hung up the call! If this is the property you want to stay in and ruin your trip, please go on, otherwise, choose something else please! If something ever goes wrong, people here is not going to sincerely help, but trying their best to scam money out of your pocket.

The quality of the accomodation was excellent, with fantastic views. The apartment had everything we needed. It was so nice, we chose to cook in rather than eat out.

Doors open on arrival = many bugs and flies in property with no bug spray to get rid of them. Unclear what/how to dispose of trash but a warning you will be charged 50$ if you do it wrong! Could be cleaner in living room as furniture appears older than pictures. Also much colder at night in property, despite warm and dry summers day!

it is located on what can only be described as a housing estate it is surrounded by three properties in close proximity to it this means that whilst it is described as the star apartment only a limited amount of sky can be seen. the view of the lake is also very limited. due to the proximity of local houses there is a lot of noise the rear garden was used as a walkthrough between two properties which invaded privacy . this was reported to the letting agents but they did nothing about this I am attaching a photo showing the view from the window

Great accommodation within walking distance of town. Comfortable bed in a decent size room, kitchen had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Excellent stay..

We stayed in the 3 bedroom unit. It was extremely roomy, modern, clean, very well equipped and comfortable, if a bit soulless. Nice deck area with partial mountain and lake view which was lovely, but strangely no outdoor furniture to allow you to sit and enjoy it which is an area for improvement. 10 minute walk to the Lake/facilities, or few minutes drive. Shared drive parking with next door unit.

Located on a new housing estate, which seemed to be mostly holiday rentals. No fences or hedges. The property had lots of windows which provided great natural light; but also felt as though you were in a goldfish bowl due to the extremely close proximity of other properties - closing curtains/blinds was the only way to achieve privacy. The provision of outdoor furniture would enable the deck to be used. Drying setting on washing machine/dryer pretty useless.
