One small downside was the large number of Portuguese black millipedes around the property( generally in La Palma), particularly in the garden and outdoor areas and bedrooms . There were surprisingly many of them, which was a little unpleasant at times. Although they appeared harmless, their sheer numbers were quite noticeable. We bought an insect spray, which proved very effective, especially when applied outside on the terrace directly in front of the bedroom. It made a noticeable difference and helped us enjoy the outdoor space much more comfortably. It certainly didn’t spoil our stay, but it’s worth mentioning so future guests are aware and can come prepared.
