Great location for Western NC. Perfect for our group of 2 couples. Enjoyed the outdoor sitting/firepit area. The covered porch was nice, it rained one evening so we could still be able to grill and sit outside. Just a peaceful location and view. Thank you for sharing your home, we plan to come back next year...

We wanted to take a brief 2-day trip to the NC mountains to fly fish near Cherokee and hike off the Blue Ridge Pkwy. The Layers View home in Dilsboro was a perfect location for our plans. After a long, hot day fly fishing it was great to come back to Layers View and relax in the hot tub before going to dinner in Sylva (just a 5 minute drive!). Although we never prepared a meal at the home, it is well equipped and having WiFi and satellite TV was great because we got to watch the finals of women's round of the US Open after a long day hiking in the rain! Althought it was just two of us, the home can easily accomodate 4 adults and a couple of kids (who could camp out in the living room). Would recommend to anyone who enjoys wounderful views, good fishing and hiking, and good food in a small town atmosphere.

What a beautiful property! The view takes your breath away. The best fire pit and dry wood provided for a small cash fee and the whirlpool…made our outdoor living the absolute best!! Then there is the house…WOW!! Beautiful home, very clean, and everything we needed to get started was provided. Shopping and cute restaurants nearby in Dillsboro and Sylva. We are already planning our next trip!

If waking up to beautiful Mountain view’s while watching an Osprey catch it’s breakfast on the river in the valley below is something you would enjoy, then this is the place for you. On a clear night, amazing views of the Milky Way galaxy can be seen. A good feeling of seclusion and peacefulness even while there are neighboring homes nearby. A short drive to the Great Rocky Mountain National Park with plenty to do locally. We are already thinking about our next visit!

The cabin was great. We enjoyed the view, hot tub & the fire pit. You can see the river & hear the rapids. The road up to the cabin is steep, but paved & not a problem. Place was clean, beds comfortable & nice. We cooked out on the grill also. Hiked the area to waterfalls & enjoyed the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nearby town has a cool brewery along a river.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house and location were excellent. It was very clean and well maintained. The refrigerator noise might be an issue with anyone sleeping nearby on the living room pull out bed but my daughter said she slept okay.

What a beautiful cabin! My wife and I just stayed for a weekend. It was very clean and had an exceptional view! Just minutes away from a wide array of shops and restaurants. We enjoyed just reading out on the deck. Will definitely stay there again.

We can’t say enough about how breathtaking this property is! Very well maintained and clean. From the moment we opened the door, we knew that we would have no issues in regards to cleanliness! We really enjoyed the view from the deck and the hot tub! Our girls found a little lizard by the fire pit and named it Lenny. Hope we can visit again!

We had a great time, and the location was perfect. We loved the view of all the hills and valleys.
We had one issue on Saturday late afternoon with the water: zero pressure. After one phone call and several returned calls, the property management/caretaker stayed on the job till we were back up and Running. Thank everyone involved.

This mountain retreat was just amazing. Clean, owners are super responsive to every question before and during the stay, and the place was exactly as described. I would definetly stay here again. Only note I would make and it wasn't a negative for us at all - is that this is a very small town and most restraunts and stores aren't open 6 or 7 days a week. We were happy keeping it simple and staying in while enjoying the incredible view.

Great location close to town. Paved street to property, but very steep and single lane. Tremendous views. Indoor gas fireplace and outdoor fire pit were lovely. There was even a Christmas tree. Pots, pans and dishes, but no mixing or serving bowls could be found... Might want to bring your own large bowl. Comfortable beds and nice towels.

Perfect accommodation for 2 couples to get away for a decompression 3 days. Well maintained, well-appointed, nice amenities, close to some great hiking (which we took advantage of) convenient to the BRP, 8 min from the lovely town of Sylva that has a great vibe.And a killer view. We will be back.

AMAZING!!
To put it bluntly, Oh, WOW!! My husband and I are in our 70's and have traveled the world. Little did we know that one of the prettiest and nicest places we've stayed is right in our back yard! (We live in Raleigh, N. C. ).. It was modern, clean and the view is breathtaking! (The drive up the driveway is scary, though! Worth it once you get there)..Highly, highly recommend this wonderful paradise!

I have been renting cabins for 30 years and this is the best cabin I have ever had. The view was amazing and even with the rain we found breaks to use the hot tub and the fire pit. I can not say enough about the cabin itself and how comfortable it was. Everything was so nice. I will be requesting this cabin many many more times. I was lucky enough to get to stay here during January while working in the area. It was wonderful to have such a cozy place to return to after working outside all day and I enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace daily. It snowed during my stay and I decided to stay an extra two nights to simply enjoy the view during the snowstorm. My boyfriend joined me for those two nights and we played board games by the fire and cooked our meals in the fully stocked kitchen. It was wonderful to be able to make healthy meals, which sometimes is a struggle when I'm traveling. I also enjoyed some really delicious meals downtown, which was only about a 5 minute drive away. It was so peaceful and the only person we saw was the neighbor who plowed the snow. Loved it. The house was spotless as well. What a fantastic place to relax and just enjoy the view. I didn't want to leave.🙂

The Layers View Lodge lives up to its name offering magnificent views of the Smoky Mountains as well as the river below. You could even hear the sounds of the rushing waters in the river. The lodge offered all the amenities needed for a great stay. The hot tub was clean and we used it every evening to relax and take in the views. There were several lawn games available to play and everything available was in great condition. The lodge was sparkling clean and orderly when we arrived, and was equipped with all the comforts of home. It is located a very short drive to Dillsboro and Sylva, which have several restaurants, breweries and shops to check out. We can't wait to stay at Layers View Again!

The views from the comfy covered porch, expansive hot tub and cozy fire pit are even more breathtaking than the pictures can show! We had long range views of several ridge lines and enjoyed watching the "smoke" that gives the smoky mountains their name. The cabin is well appointed, with a very well stocked kitchen. We were able to feed a wonderful home-cooked meal to several starving college students. The location is the best of both worlds, feeling very remote but in actuality, only minutes from Western Carolina University and quaint shopping and dining in Sylva and Dillard. The larger mountain town of Waynesville is also nearby as is excellent golf and gambling in Cherokee.

We absolutely loved Layers View Lodge - it had everything! However, when calling Sundog we talked to a “Caleb” who was completely rude and belligerent - calling me names like “Jackwagon” and “Salad hater”. Then, when the maintenance guy came to help fix the fireplace…I believe his name was Chad or Chode…he was of no help at all. I doubt the guys even knows the difference between a drill and a screwdriver! I had to keep telling him, “This is not a drill.” Oh, and his breath smelled like Mango…

We love this cabin and the view is spectacular!! We had a bit of trouble with the keypad lock on the front door. I think it may need new batteries. Otherwise everything was perfect!

What a gem this little cabin is. The view of the river and mountains is so relaxing, especially with the hot tub and fire pit. And the cabin itself is clean and comfortable. Feels like home. Have stayed here several times and will definitely be back.
